When the promised friday came around, the atmosphere at Heiwa had gotten heavier. Small groups of delinquents awaited in front of the school gates, talking loudly as if the street was theirs, but never trying to mess up with anyone. More small groups were spread out from the gates to the entrance of the main building, talking as if the school was theirs.
From the comfort of his office, headmaster Endo watched over the groups with acup of coffee on his hands, and contradicting his small smile, a displeased look on his eyes.
"I might have underestimated the amount of useless fodder I had in my school." Endo took a sip of his coffee and placed the cup on his desk. Getting up from his seat, he walked over to the window and looked down on the school. "In just one week, my little experiment has lead to this. You throw a mutt a bone and he thinks he can have the whole dish for himself. What annoys me the most is how much time our acquaintance is taking with dealing with the issue."
"We have confirmation he is planning on take action, but what proves this isn't a ploy? What if he's trying to make you take the first step into taking care of the situation with Ban Katsuhito?" Nijimura asked.
"Once again, I don't remember asking for your take on the matter, Nijimura-san." Endo scoffed. "And if that was the case, we would have known by now. Sachi-san would have figured it out by now and told us. I believe she can do that much at the very least. Ah, finally. He arrived." He mussed upon seeing Izuru walk through the school gates.
"Things ain't gettin' any smoother, Miyuki." Tate sighed. "Now they're even yelling outside in outside. When the heck did we get these many delinquents on Heiwa? I don't remember there being so many."
"No, there was always this many. They just didn't bother to unite until someone did it for them." Izuru explained, eyes focused on the entrance of the main building and who stood there talking to his friends.
"Oh snap, you sayin' Ban's got anything to do with it? I mean, when you throw him in the mix, things get less sus and alot more clearer." Tate commented.
"Exactly. Hold this, please." Izuru asked, giving his open school bag to Tate.
"Sure thing, dude. Why though?"
"It's easier to look through the bag if I'm not also holding it." Izuru explained, looking through the inside of his bag. "Easier to get things like this out."
"Things like- W-wait dude, w-what are you going to do with that?!"
Izuru coughed to clean his throat and held a speaker in front of his mouth.
"D-d-du-!"
"Ban Katsuhito." Izuru spoke up, his voice ringing loudly because of the speaker. "Rounding up the delinquents like a herd is starting to get old, so turn around and come here, I want to make a deal."
Ban stood infront of the main school buildings with Keiki and Doujima from his class, with his back facing Izuru. Ban didn't look back and instead scoffed.
"Give it a sec, he'll get tired eventually." Ban said.
"Iunno man, the sec's never did something like this. The norm for him is dealing with issues on the lowkey, not make this a public fest or somethin'." Keiki explained.
"You might aswell give him a shot, Ban-san." Doujima suggested. "Maybe you'll get something good out of this."
"Spare me the bullcrap. This guy's just asking to get hit again." Ban snarled.
"You want to become King, right? Hear to my request you might just become the first King of Heiwa not decided by the headmaster." Izuru declared.
"Huh?" Ban looked at Izuru over his shoulder before turning to face him.
"Yeah, you heard me. You wanna be the King of this place, don't you? You know the student council can make it happen, so just hear me out."
"H-h-h-hey Miyuki, what the heck are you doing dude?!" Tate asked, dumbfolded. "I- Why- What- But- What does pres say about this?!"
"Don't worry about that."
"Alright, I'm listening!" Ban replied with a loud laugh, making his way towards Izuru with Keiki and Doujima behind him. "You finally gonna give this sad excuse of a Royalty to someone who deserves it?"
"That'd be too simple." Izuru sighed, tossing the speaker away. He reached for the inside of his jacket and began scrambling through an inner pocket. "When the current student council was victorious last year, a rumour sprouted about the headmaster giving them three special contracts that could grant a lucky student whatever they wanted. Here is one." He took out a pile of papers from his pocket and tossed them at Ban's feet.
"H-h-holy shit! Those things actually exist?!" Tate asked, taking a step back.
"I'll spare you the trouble and make things easy enough that even a monkey would understand. You wanna be King, the Royalty is only good for Vanguard, so let's fight. You win, the council's support is yours, you lose, you belong to the council while you're here. If you lose but don't wanna become a lap dog, I think you can see the front gates from where you stand."
'This crap sounds like an excuse to get rid of students without having to actually expel them. If they leave by their own choice, then it's their defect, not the school's. This contract is a high risk high reward shit, but it only needed one page. These extra are just to make things convoluted and make someone dumb accept without actually reading it.' Ban thought as he flipped over the pages of the contract. "You're gambling on human nature to not read long things. Being with your head so far high into your ass made you oblivious to something. Keiki, pen."
"W-w-w-wait Ban-san, a-are you serious?!" Keiki asked.
"Keiki's right for once, there's too much riding here!" Doujima exclaimed.
"Tch, you good for nothings." Ban shrugged and took out a pen from his pocket, which he used to sign the contract.
"Oh yeah? What would that be?" Izuru asked, placing the signed contract back into his inner pocket.
"Your demand is high, and with my current situation, chances of me accepting what happens to me are high. You forgot that I got nothing to lose anymore." Ban said, drawing his deck box from his pockets. "Get bent!"
'Whatever gets you out of Heiwa.' Izuru thought, drawing his own deck box.
