"After the end of the conflict between me and Ban, the days went by and May rolled around. During this time, Ban joined the student council room group, Tate kept being a romantically failure and Aimi kept feeling distant. It was the start of May, meaning we'd have our midterm exams in about two weeks. I never had to care alot about studying myself to exhaustion, which on the good side meant I could get some of the best scores out of all three years, but was also utterly bombarded with request to help people study... And the worst ones came from those around me instead of complete strangers."
In the classroom of class 2-D, the class where Izuru, Tate and Aimi were in, the homeroom teacher, a short and elderly man with balding grey hair, wrote on the chalkboard the five subjects that would be in the midterms, those being Mathematics, Social Studies, Japanese, Science and English. When he finished, he place down the piece of chalk he used to write and turned to face his students.
"The midterm exam season will start on the eleventh of the month, a wednesday, and will last four days, finishing on the fourteenth, the saturday of the same week. As you already know, the exams will focus on the five basic subjects, those being math, social studies, japanese and so on and so forth. You're already in your second year of high school, so this isn't anything new to you. What might be new to some is the post-exam field trip Heiwa does every midterm season, paid by the headmaster Endo-dono himself. Aslong as you are graded a grade above the average score of the school, you're welcome to go on the field trip free of charge if you want or stay at home and relax from all the time wasted on studying. But if your score is the same or lower than the average, then you won't be going anymore other than school for recuperation classes on the subjects you failed. That's all, class dismissed."
"Miyukiiiii...!!" Tate weakly cried, walking up to Izuru's desk like a zombie. There, he fell to his knees. "I'm not ready for midterms and Ako-chan left me again..."
"Which one is Ako again?" Izuru asked bluntly.
"Miyuki, you meanie!" Tate exclaimed, jumping back onto his feet. "You're the worst best friend ever!"
"I prefer 2D girls, they're less annoying." Izuru sighed. "You want help studying, right?"
"Yes please."
"I'll find the time. I'm a man with a busy schedule."
"Your busy schedule is playing video games until your eyes burn, you don't have a very good excuse to escape this one."
"Yeah, I know..." Izuru sighed, and from the corner of his eye, he saw Aimi head out of the classroom. "Hey Aimi, you wanna join on the study group?"
"Hm? I'll study by myself this time." Aimi replied in a monotone tone.
"Damn, pres Hanagata ain't been in the best mood for a while now. I think she's been like this since the Ban biz but that's all solved already, right?"
"Yeah, I think so. Well, it's probably that time of the month or something. I'm not exactly an expert on women." Izuru shrugged.
"I could teach you a thing or two." Tate said with a cheeky grin.
"Like you're any better."
"I've dated like ten times the number of chicks you did!"
"Yeah, you wanna go over basic math today? Because ten times zero is still zero so y'know, rework your flex. And speaking of the monkey brain himself." Izuru chuckled, looking at the classroom's door.
"I hate sheets of paper with questions on them." Ban sighed, standing by the classroom's door. "'Sup? You two got plans for getting ready for midterms? I kinda suck at things that don't involve sports and english so I'll take whatever you can offer."
"I can't even say I only suck at this or that, I just suck in general." Tate sulked.
"If only you heard your studying friend and hit the books instead of going out with girls that'll dump you faster than it takes me to finish a Mr. Krabs on Ketamine speedrun." Izuru sighed, throwing his school bag over his shoulder. "I'm gonna have lunch at the council room. You two?"
"Sure, I don't got any plans." Ban shrugged.
"Sounds good to me! Is Yumi-chan coming? I think I'm finally ready for her mom's spicy tempura!" Tate exclaimed confidently.
"You weren't the three times last week, how'd you be ready now?" Ban asked. "Oh yeah, by the way. A chick from my class told me to tell you she's looking for you or something."
All midterm-issued sadness in Tate's face magically vanished at the sound of a girl looking for him.
"I'm listening. Who is it?"
"Hell if I know, do I look like the guy that remembers names? I don't know, she had big tits or something." Ban shrugged.
"Have you looked at the girls in this school?! Even the first years are packing heat! Be more specific!"
'This conversation is lowering my IQ the longer it gets...' Izuru thought, staring bluntly at the two.
"Huh... She called you Tate-kun!"
"That doesn't help!"
"She had long hair! I think... Probably."
"What colour?!"
'My IQ has dropped enough for me to bomb midterms...'
"I don't know, I wasn't looking at her!"
"What colour where her nails?! Red or white?!"
"Do I look like the guy who cares for that crap?! It was big boobed chick with long hair and nails that called you Tate-kun!"
"THAT DOES NOT HELP!"
"WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO DO THEN?!"
'Now it has dropped to the point where my grades will get me disowned.' Izuru thought, staring at the ceiling.
"WHAT DID SHE SAY SPECIFICALLY?!"
"SHE SAID SHE KNEW SOME OTHER CHICK DUMPED YOU TODAY AND-!"
"TA-MA-KI-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!" Tate happily yelled, pushing Ban away from the door in his rush to leave the classroom.
"Tamawho? What's a Tamaki?" Ban asked.
"I think she's the one with the white hair... Or the one with the yellowish eyes...? I don't know, I didn't remember which is which when Tate first met them, I'm not going to start trying to remember them today. So, lunch?"
"Hell yeah."
