During the begin part of the instrumental, the opening shows mugshots of Izuru, Tate and Ban, with each of the cards they hold having something written on them. On Izuru's it's written "Tactless Idiot", on Tate's "Romantic Failure" and on Ban's is "Protein Brain".

When the vocals being, the scene becomes the empty student council room of Heiwa, with the the title of the book being written in large letters on the ground. As the instrumental continues, charcaters begin appearing in the room. First it's Chika, then Aimi and Izuru, then Tate, Yumi, Ban and finally, Minami.

The scene changes into Izuru standing by a riverbank, with his back turned to the viewer. As the scene zooms away from Iuru, it's revealed that two other characters are in the riverbank, looking at Izuru, also with their backs turned to the viewer. One of them is a woman in a lab coat with long brown hair while the other is a woman with long grey hair and wearing a black suit.

The scene changes into Ban sitted behind the desk in his room doing some homework. He looks out at the night sky, causing the two pitbulls laying on his bed to raise their heads and look out aswell.

The scene changes into Ako and Tamaki pushing each other, leading the two to fall into the school's pool. The water gets splashed onto Tate's face, who seems to be having the time of his life with a perverted look in this face. Izuru and Ban are standing behind him, the two deadpanning at their friend's antics. Izuru pulls a baseball bat out of nowhere and swings it down at Tate's head when the song reaches "Smile!", causing the scene to change.

Sagashite iru no wa turū rabu

Aimi is seen taking care of some paperwork in her desk in the student council president. By the end of the line, she looks out at the window.

Moyashite iru no wa janguru

The camera shifts from Aimi to Minami, who is walking out of the school with some friends. She looks back at the school's entrance.

Hansei shinakucha purejidento

As Minami looks back, the camera shifts to focus on Chika, who's leaving the school by herself. She hears something and looks back.

Yatsura wa Rubikon koeta
What?!

The camera shifts to focus on Yumi, who's rushing towards Chika. As that happens, the trio of Izuru, Tate and Ban also arrives at the entrance from another way. Tate says something that leads to Yumi nodding and taking out her bento. She grabs a piece of tempura shrimp and throws it at Tate, who catches it with his mouth, and when the song reaches "What?!", Tate begins yelling with a red face, gaining another deadpanned look from Izuru and Ban. Once again, Izuru draws a baseball bat and swings it at Tate.

During this scene, Izuru, Tate and Ban walk past the school building's entrance with Yumi and Chika, and are soon joined by Minami, who ran back to meet them, and Aimi, who hurried to join them after finishing their duties. As the group talks as they walk, Izuru stops and looks up at the headmaster's office, only to see nothing. The windows of the office begin vibrating and units begin being launched from the windows, jetting down towards the group.

The first unit to arrive is Lady Fencer of Matter Transmission, who swings her blade, only for it to meet with Susanoo and Dragonic Blademaster's blades, with Izuru standing in as Susanoo. The two manage to throw away Lady Fencer, but another unit, this time Counterkill Strike, Gastorur, swings by to attack them.

Gastorur's strike is deflect by Izuru swinging Susanoo's blade and Tate, as Scharhrot Vampir, using the bones sprouting from his back to push him back.

The next unit attacking is Bending Solid-hit, Vanmaanen, who's fists get striked away by Chika, as Tsukuyomi, using her shield, and Yumi, as Coral, using her tail. Izuru looks back at the two and charges at Vanmaanan, slashing the unit down.

The final attacks comes from Genesis Machine Deity, Volcoguede, who hurls its fist at Izuru from within the dust cloud raised by the fighting. His fist is stopped Minami, as Venus Luquier, using her whip to restrain the unit's arm. Izuru charges at the unit, this time joined by Aimi as Nightrose, and the two unleash a flurry of slashes that make Volcoguede crumble into pieces.

Sō yū hito ga mottomo utsukushī utsukushī
Smiling!

Everyone except Izuru vanish from the field. Izuru looks back as the dust cloud decipates, revealing an approaching headmaster Endo applauding. Endo stops and reaches out for Izuru.

When the song reaches "Smiling!", Izuru charges at Endo.

O negai!

Endo turns away from Izuru, and suddenly, the school building of Heiwa is destroyed, revealing Alter Ego Messiah rising from among the debris. While that happens, Alter Ego is constantly looking down on Izuru.

During this part, images of various characters shown. It starts with an image of Izuru, Tate and Yumi heading to school; Izuru and Ban crossing paths near Yumi's house; Izuru and Kasumi walking alongside the book shelves on the school library; Izuru and Yumi in her backyard; Izuru and Chika in a bus; Aimi, Ako and Tamaki in a mall with Tate, Ban and Ren; Izuru and Minami in her kitchen; Izuru, Tate and Ban in a school trip out in the woods; Izuru, Tate and Ban watching Rio swinging an axe during one of her plays; a younger Endo holding a martial arts trophy alongside a man taller than him with his face covered by shadows; Sumireko sleeping in her office; Nijimura at a bakery; a dark red 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado parked near the riverbank with a man in a black shirt with a closed black blazer under a red trench coat and in black suit pants and shoes sitting on the hood and smoking; and Izuru leaving the school's rooftop with Mitsuaki having his back facing Izuru's and Nijimura watching.

The final scene changes into the riverbank once again, where Izuru looks back to see his friends. A small smile appears in his lips as his hair makes his eyes unable to be seen, but then he runs his hand through his hair, pulling it back. He then takes his headphones off and tosses them into the air, and rushes to join his friends. As the group leaves the area, the headphones fall on the grass, followed by a card.

OK!

The final shot of the opening becomes the headphones and Susanoo's card, laying on the grass.
