A Life and Death Love

Chapter 34: New Year's Eve twenty years ago.

New Year's Eve 12/31/2036:

Logan's POV:

Twenty years ago today I married the love of my life. We decided to do a vow renewal this evening. Rory is having a hard time she lost her stepfather Luke three months ago. Lorelai woke up, and he had passed away in his sleep. He was seventy years old.

Emily has been gone for almost ten years. Mitchum passed away two years ago from a heart attack. So, all that remains is Shira, Lorelai, and Chris. 

Elias is a Sophomore at Yale, he will be twenty years old in May. He is majoring in Journalism and minoring in Business. He has been helping Logan at HPG and learning to take over when he is twenty-five. He will be choosing what office he wants to run and where he wants to live when he graduates. He is now a legacy member of the Life and Death Brigade.  

Lola will graduate in May and start at Yale in the fall. She is eighteen. She is also majoring in journalism and minoring in business to be a CO-CEO with Elias of HPG. She has been assisting her dad every summer through high school. Once she graduates she will also have the choice over which office and where she wants to live once she graduates. They will each be in charge of their own divisions of the company worldwide. 

Logan is now fifteen he is a freshman at Chilton. He is on the debate team and is on the staff of The Franklin. He will also attend Yale when he graduates for pre-law. He will be taking over Hayden Law Firm when he reaches age twenty-five. 

Tori is now thirteen, and in the seventh grade at the same school, she has attended since pre-k. She will attend Yale for a major in economics and a minor in business. She has chosen she wants to take over the Insurance company once she graduates.  She will be in charge of the company when she reaches the age of twenty-five. 

We make sure to still do our date nights and movie nights. After Emily passed away, we made Sunday a family dinner and movie night. We still have our nights for the guys and the girls. We all still do our Friday night dinners with the gang. 

During this vow renewal, the kids are the only ones in the wedding. We did the colors in blue and silver for Yale colors. Only two hours until the ceremony. We have been married for twenty years and have known each other for thirty-two years. 

Since we are Hartford royalty, we decided it was going to be a small affair just Logan, myself, our family, and our close friends are attending the renewal.

I am taking my beautiful wife on a second honeymoon. We are going to Monte Carlo to enjoy the casinos and the Beach. 

These have honestly been the best thirty-two years of my life. Except for the years we were broken up. Those were awful years.  

The girls are going to wear Blue dresses with silver heels, and a silver shawl, and the boys will be wearing black tuxes with a blue cummerbund and a silver tie. 

Rory is wearing a silver dress with blue heels. It is a silver illusion dress it has delicate beading, it has a see-through fabric, and a darker silver fabric that covers mid-length down the thighs and the chest area to right above the midriff area. She may be fifty-two years old, but she still has the body of the same nineteen-year-old girl that I fell in love with. Even after four kids. 

I will be wearing a black tuxedo with a silver cummerbund and a blue tie. We switched it up a little from little Logan and Elias.

Rory's POV:

I am sitting in the dressing room waiting for the ceremony to start. Why do I still feel as nervous as I did twenty years ago? 

Mom fixed my hair and Honor fixed my makeup. I am pacing back and forth through the room. I have had three glasses of champagne. Hoping it would settle my nerves.
