March 30th
5:00 PM Sulifa, Qa'ihr
Aya Chanler-Saleh wasn't an heiress, she came from a wealthy French-Iranian family and was the youngest and only daughter out of three.
She wouldn't be inheriting anything from her family's hotel business as it was going to her eldest brother whilst the rest of the Chanler siblings had to work for their place in the business world.
Aya was well educated and lived a lavish life in New York with her own business chain she started that was connected to her family name. Chanler nightclub had now officially been opened at every hotel they owned worldwide thanks to Aya and although she wasn't typically traditional in any sense the public of Qa'ihr loved her.
Aya was seen as a good match for their Prince and people were absolutely delighted at the idea that she was also the mother to their Prince's child.
Aya had never shied away from the public eye. Dating Amir in New York, she knew exactly what it was like to be compared to the several models and conquests he would also be seen with, but what scared her the most was the fact that although she and Amir had married to save face, she was starting to fall in love with him again.
Their relationship had started out as just friends with benefits after having both come from emotionally draining relationships and then it settled into something more and to avoid realising that they liked each other they would always break up or sleep around which eventually resulted in their relationship deteriorating.
Aya finding out she was pregnant had been the most terrifying thing and then having to go through it alone without Amir because she hadn't wanted him to be the father made her feel guilty. It was no secret that Amir wasn't the most stable person, he had his issues and Aya had hers but that was what made them work - because Aya never wanted him to be someone he wasn't.
But after getting back to their house and seeing Ehsan fuss over Eira because Amir was wasted, made her realise that just because they were finally stable didn't mean he was. Ehsan had helped Aya drag, Amir, into the shower letting the cold water jolt him into an interactive state.
Aya wasn't used to being royalty but the interview she and Amir were about to partake in was crucial for the image of the Royal family and although Amir was awake and presentable next to her as they sat in front of the large camera and hot lights ready for their interview, it didn't mean that it wasn't obvious something was wrong.
Amir reached for her hand and squeezed it and Aya gave him a sympathetic smile. They would have to talk about him seeking professional help.
"Prince Amir we will be starting in a few seconds," Jabirah Arslan said sitting directly opposite the royal couple. She wore a smile on her face but Aya knew better than to trust interviewers that seemed nice, their job was to get the details and they would dig as far as they need to.
Aya and Amir were dressed in a simple design of black and white in order for them to seem serious. If anything, they looked very old fashioned but they had to maintain a certain image and with Aya's hand placement in Amir's, there was surely no way that they wouldn't convince the public. The countdown began and a silence swept throughout the set as Jabirah smiled at the camera before speaking.
