She knew it. She knew involving you in her world was gonna come back and bite her in the butt. Knew that if she let you in, just a little, it could not only hurt her but you, too. (And in the worst way). Knew that whatever evil she and her sisters hunted could come for those she loved. Loved? She loves you.
"I love you," she whispered.
She screams in agony, when she receives no response, not even a twitch. How dare you? How dare you not hear the one time she decides to fess up about her feelings. yes, she was holding it in but only to protect you.
But she couldn't protect you anyway.
One of the few people she cared about and she couldnt protect you. How can she save so many innocents but not you. Her innocent. Her best friend.
