That night, Maddie didn't sleep. She was up all night - training. Though Sam may not have been invested in karate anymore, Maddie still was.

Daniel LaRusso had taught her Myagi-Do karate with Sam at a young age. Maddie not only excelled at it, but she was better than Daniel ever was at his age.

Maddie was studying other types of martial arts - such as kung fu, jiu-jitsu, and taekwondo. Her goal was to move like Black Widow in Iron Man 2 - cheesy, she knew, but it was what she strived for.

She was down in her training room, kicking at a bag when her phone rang. She looked around, blinking. It was morning. She hadn't even realized that the sun came up.

When she walked over to her phone, and saw that Sam was calling her. Maddie only sighed before picking it up.

"Hello?" Maddie spoke.

"Maddie! Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my house to swim for a bit?" Sam questioned. Maddie paused for a second, thinking it over.

"Will it just be us?" Maddie replied.

"No. I invited Yasmine and Moon over as well." Sam told Maddie. Though she also forgot to mention that she invited over nearly everyone associated with popularity at their school over to her house.

"Sam I really don't want to." Maddie rubbed her temple. Wasn't she present after last night?

"Come on Mads, for me? Please? Yasmine feels really bad about last night." Sam pleaded.

Maddie resisted the urge to scoff. She knew that Yasmine didn't care. If she did, then she would have called the police like she should have. Instead it was essentially a hit and run.

"Fine. But if shit hits the fan, I'm leaving." Maddie responded. Sam squealed with excitement on the other side of the phone.

"Ok, which bikini do you think I should wear, my blue one, my black one, or my white one?" Sam questioned. Maddie thought for a moment.

"The blue one, it brings out your eyes." Maddie answered. She was suspicious at this point. Sam wouldn't ask her what to wear unless someone important was going to see her in it - not that her friends weren't, but someone she had feelings for.
