"Why did I let you talk me into this? This goes against everything I stand for. It's like extra gym class for no reason." Demetri complained to Eli.

"It's a lot more fun than gym class." Maddie tried to assure him, starting to stretch.

"Let's just give it a chance. You saw the fight. Miguel kicked ass." Eli reasoned. Maddie hummed, agreeing.

"OK. Today we begin..." Johnny trailed off as no one heard him or was paying attention to him. He looked around for a second before pulling out his big guns.

"QUIET!" Johnny shouted. That got everyone's attention as all the kids heads snapped towards the man, the dojo falling silent.

"Face front." Johnny instructed. Maddie walked her way up to stand right beside Aisha. The two girls exchanged smiles before focusing on the sensei.

Johnny scanned over his new recruits. His eyes first landed on Maddie, looking decently impressed at how fit she was before moving on to other rows. His eyes landed on Demetri.

"Nice shirt." Johnny said.

"Thanks." Demetri smiled at the compliment. But that smile quickly disappeared however.

"I'm joking, it sucks." Johnny responded, moving on. He came up to a kid who was smiling.

"Word of advice. If you've got shit for teeth, don't smile." Johnny informed the kid, whose smile and head dropped. Maddie had to keep her jaw from falling onto the floor.

This was the guy who would be training her? Was he serious? Maddie was no saint, she'll admit, but he was just plain rude and mean.

"God, makes me feel like a virgin, just looking like you." he said to a kid in a purple shirt. The kid put his head down as well.

"When I look around this dojo, I don't see Cobra Kai material. I see losers, I see nerds. I see a fat kid with a funny hat with his tits popping out. But, in my short time as a sensei, I've also seen some miracles." Johnny looked over at Miguel and Aisha.

"So, maybe there's some hope for you yet. But first, I need to see where you're at. So everybody, fall in!" he instructed.

Everyone looked around confused, with the exception of Aisha and Miguel. Maddie had heard the phrase before, but she couldn't remember what it meant.

"That means line up." he explained. Recognition passed through everyone's face as they started to all line up behind Miguel and Aisha.

Miguel and Aisha exchanged amused looks which caused Maddie to stay where she was, realizing that he meant to line up in rows.

"No, not-not line up in a line. L-Lines! Get in lines." Johnny struggling to explain.

"You mean like 'rows'?" Demetri questioned, confused.

"Ugh." Johnny buried his face in his hands.

"Fighting positions." Johnny instructed his students. Maddie quickly went into hers, it was almost like second nature. She looked around and saw many kids with errors that were easy to fix in their positions.
