Maddie woke up to a notification ping on her phone. It sounded throughout her room and she groaned, checking the time. It was 9:30 AM, but after being out all night with Sam last night, she was exhausted.
She checked her phone and saw that it was a text from Yasmine, asking her to get together with her, Moon, and Sam today. She only sighed, before responding with a quick "sure, see you there" over text before getting up for the day.
She went into her bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was sticking out in places she didn't understand were possible and she just snorted at it before brushing it out and doing her teeth.
When she got out of the bathroom, she quickly changed into a white tank top crop top with some black shorts. When she was satisfied with the way she looked, she grabbed her phone and headed downstairs to eat something.
Her parents were currently out, seeing as they worked 5 days a week from 9-5. She walked into her massive kitchen and made herself some toast and spread nutella on top of it before eating it.
When she was done, the 5'8 girl put on her shoes, grabbed her wallet and keys, and headed out the door, getting into her car.
She sat in it for a few minutes, thinking about what had happened over the summer. It was a lot of partying, a lot of drinking, and even some vaping (though thankfully Maddie did not develop an addiction).
The first day of school was in a few days and Maddie wasn't sure about it. Lately, she had been getting fed up with Yasmine. It didn't help that Sam stood idly by while she knew that Yasmine was a horrible person.
She didn't particularly like that Sam was starting to get interested in Kyler either. Maddie knew what type of person Kyler was - and it wasn't the good type.
Maddie sighed as she started her car, putting some of her music on, before heading over to Yasmine's house.
While driving, Maddie couldn't help but think about the poverty in Reseda. Even though she was surrounded by wealth in Encino - there were still so many people at her school that weren't as nearly as fortunate as her.
After around 10 minutes of driving, she pulled into Yasmine's driveway. Maddie's house was about the size of Yasmine's, if not a little bigger.
When she went inside, Maddie found Moon, Sam, and Yasmine all sitting at her kitchen island talking and laughing about something.
"Maddie!" Moon squealed. Maddie gave her a soft smile before walking over and giving them all a hug before sitting down next to Sam.
"Ok, so I'm thinking that I'll go to school in this outfit, what do you think?" Yasmine smirked. Yasmine showed Maddie the outfit and she only nodded, giving a small smile of approval.
"So Maddie, are we finally going to get you a hookup this year?" Yasmine teased. Maddie raised her eyebrows, confused on why Yasmine was thinking about this now.
