In the next chapter, Ray had broken her leg and she's loopy due to the painkillers. During that time, she's clinging to Tay and it's because of things that happened to her during her childhood.

There was a time when they were in elementary and were at the park that Ray was almost abducted, but Tay was there and managed to get her back over to the other kids before it could happen.

After Dashae had gotten into college, they had thrown a party. This was when the twins were in the ninth grade (I just did some research and it says that the gang are juniors). One of D'Marcus's ex-friends had somehow managed to drug her and Tay was there to beat the absolute shit out of him.

Basically everything bad that happened to Ray, Tay was there to save her. It was also a time when they were in the fourth grade when their family was struggling and the kids were separated. Ray and Tay were the last to be separated and they almost fell into a state of critical depression since they were always together.

In the next chapter, Ray continues to make Tay promise to come back to her because it was what she said to him as they were being separated. It may not show, but Ray has seperation anxiety when it comes down to Tay which is why whenever there's a scene or chapter with both of them involved, they're always close to each other.

And yes, it's the same with everyone else but worse when it comes to Tay. Not only were they twins, but they have a strong bond than anyone else.

Also, Tay calls her Munchkin because she used to be obsessed with them.
