Autumn

When I got to my house I felt like I was going to die I was so out of breath. But I ran into my house, ignoring the pain from my cramp.

"Mom!" I yelled, I knew she was home because I saw her car in the driveway. I began to panic when she didn't respond. "Mom!" I yelled a little louder, running up the stairs. "No. no, no, please no." I mumbled to myself, tears forming in my eyes as I frantically searched upstairs for any signs of my mom.

When I got back downstairs I searched in the kitchen and living room. On the coffee table there was a small piece of paper. My heart raced and my hand shook as I picked it up.

If you ever want to see your mom again, you'll call the number on the back and do everything your told.

And don't tell Jason or anyone in his gang, I will know and kill every single on of them, and your mom.

I plopped down onto the couch, pulling my knees to my chest and sobbed; this is all my fault. I should've told someone about Trevor right after that night, but I was afraid he would be furious and hurt me again. Now it's up to me to get my mom back before he does whatever he has planned in his sick, twisted mind.

Picking up the note and turning t over, I took out my phone and dialed the number. It rang a few times before his voice said, "Hello, Autumn."

I gulped down my fear and replied, "Hello, Trevor." The confidence in my voice surprising me.

"You followed orders." He chuckled. "That's a first."

"Let my mom go." I said. "She has nothing to do with this; this is between you and me."

"Yes, it is." he said. "But I need your mom to get you to me."

"Just tell me what I have to do to get you to let her go."

"Meet me where this all started, you know where I'm talking about." he told me, I felt like I was going to pass out as I realized where he wanted me to go. "And, don't try to pull any tricks on me, I'll know, and the result won't be pretty." He chuckled once more. "See you soon."

I pulled up to the house I thought I'd only have to see again in my nightmares; Trevor's house. It was exactly the same as before, but now it made my skin crawl from the haunting memories that took place here.

I parked my mom's car in the driveway and got out, locking the car and putting the keys in the pocket of my hoodie with my phone. When I got to the front door I stopped and hesitated as my shaking hand reached for the doorknob. Taking a deep breath, I grabbed the knob and twisted it, opening the door just wide enough to slip inside. I closed it quietly to prevent as much noise as I could.

The inside was the same as I remembered it, but the lights weren't on; the dark rooms were only lit by the faint light bleeding through the thin curtains. It was quiet- too quiet. It seemed like no one was there, but I knew the house wasn't empty.

Suddenly, there was click coming from behind me. I turned around to see him locking the front door. He chuckled and said, "Welcome, Autumn."

"Where's my mom?" I immediately asked, fighting to not pass out from how scared I was.

He laughed and took a few steps closer to me. "You're so gullible; I never had her."

"But, the note, my mom's car-"

"She went to your neighbors' house to help them with something." he told me. "Since she was right next door, she didn't need her car. I thought it was the perfect time." He walked up to me, I backed away with every step he took towards me. Then my back hit a wall and I was trapped. Pressing his palms agianst the wall on both sides of my head, his eyes raked my body head to toe. "Damn, your body is just as beautiful as it was two years ago."

Watching him stare at me so pervertedly and talking to me the way he was made me furious, I was tired of being the weak one that was forced to fall to his knees because of fear. I pushed him off me as hard as I could and took out my pepper spray, spaying him in the eyes and making run for the door. When I got outside I ran to the door pulling out the keys and tried to unlock the car, but I wasn't fast enough.

Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and pulled away, I tried to scream, but a hand clamped over my mouth, muffling the sound. "Ssh." the all-too familiar voice said in my ear. "You're okay."

I quickly turned around to face them, never feeling to happy in my life. "Jason!" I immediately jumped into his arms, squeezing him as tightly as I could. He chuckled and squeezed me back. "How did you find me?"

"Lucky guess?" he joked as we let go, making me laugh.

"Jason."

We both turned towards the front door to see Trevor walking toards us.

"Trevor." Jason said, pushing me behind him.

Trevor glared at me. "I told you not to-"

"I didn't." I told him. "He found me."

"How?" he asked.

Jason held up his phone, on the screen there was a GPS with a little dot right where were.

"You put a tracing chip in me?!"

"Not in you." Jason said. "In your phone."

"Smart." Trevor said, then he took out a pistol ad pointed it at us. "But did you think about this?"

Jason chuckled darkly and took out his own, pointing it at Trevor and shooting him without giving it a second thought. I gasped as Trevor's lifeless body fell to the ground. "Stupid bastard." Jason mumbled to himself before turning to me, his expression softened. "You okay." I nodded, unble to form any words. Sighing, he pulled me into his arms. "I'm sorry you had to see that."

"It's fine." I said. "I'm glad he's finally gone."

"Yeah, he won't bother you anymore." he said. pressing his forehead against mine. "Now I can have you all to myself without worries." I giggled as he gently kissed me, pulling me even closer to me- if that was even possible.
