Autumn
I woke up and did my daily routine; took a shower, got dressed, skipped breakfast, brushed my hair and teeth, you know the drill.
I was dressed in a pair of plain black leggings, a t-shirt that says "Life is a beach, I'm just playing in the sand" and has a beach on it, my black combat boots, and a black beanie. I grabbed my back pack and my phone before walking out of my house. I made sure to lock the doorbehind me, then I started walking down the sidewalk towards school.
On my way to school I pass the park. Usually I never take a glance at the park since I'm always too focused on my phone, but a little squeal caught my attention and I immediately turned towards the source.
A little girl was being chased by her dad, giggling and squealing as he caught up to her. He lifted her up in the air and the girl giggle some more and begged him to put her down through her squeals. I sighed and looked back down at my phone, trying to distract myself from the thoughts of my dad.
Suddenly a car stopped beside me. I payed no attention to it and kept walking, hoping they would leave me alone.
The car started slowly driving beside me. The passenger window rolled down and I saw Jason inside the car.
"Get in." He said.
"No thanks." I said and continued walking.
He drove slowly beside me. "Autumn, get in the car." He demanded.
"I'd rather not." I said, sounding a little ruder than before.
"Autumn, damnit, get-"
"You can't tell me what to do, last time I checked you weren't my dad." I snapped, not bothering to look at him.
"I just want to talk to you." He pressed. "About last night."
I sighed and stopped walking, he stopped the car. I opened the passenger door, getting in and mentally slapping myself for doing so. "Happy?"
"Yes." He answered, even though it was a rhetorical question.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
"Why did you leave like that last night?" he asked. "Did I do something wrong?"
"Why do you even care?" I snapped. "You seemed just fine dancing with that other girl, so why do you care if I left?"
"Ooh, sounds like someone's jealous." He said, smirking at me before focusing back on the road.
"I'm not jealous." I stated. "I'm just confused. You dance with me, tried to kiss me, I leave, you start complaining, but then you start dancing with another girl who I have no doubt in my mind you fucked last night." I took a deep breath before continuing. "But now you're complaining that I left again. It's confusing and irritating." He seemed lost for words as he dissected my rant. Before he could respond, he pulled up at the school and parked. "Thanks for the ride." I said, opening the door and stepping out. "I'll see you in class." I shut the door before Jason could say anything else.
I speed-walked into the school, praying that Jason wouldn't follow me. I know I'm about to see him again, but I'd rather be in class with him because we can't talk while the teacher is talking or she'll give us detention.
As I was walking through the hall girls were sending me glares and guys were checking me out, or just staring at me. It made me feel really uncomfortable, so I put my head down so my hair covered my face.
When I finally got to my locker I put in the combination and grabbed my textbook.
"Autumn!" I heard my friends call from behind me.
