Week 8
You stirred the noodles around slowly, trying to gauge if they were ready yet. Unable to do so with your eyes and the wooden spoon, you pulled out a single noodle with the spoon. You blew on it and then placed the noodle into your mouth. It had a slight crunch to it still, so the noodles still needed a few minutes.
You heard stomping coming up the hallway to the kitchen, making you turn to look at who was approaching. Your eyes met your husband's figure as he stood with an annoyed expression. Attached to his left leg and sitting on the left foot was Katsuko. She was happily giggling, begging her father to walk more.
Across from her, and on Bakugou's right leg and right foot, was Hiroki. He was chanting as well, a happy blush on his freckled cheeks. Both kids looked to be giving Bakugou quite the leg workout. You giggled and turned back to your noodles.
"Wanna switch?" Bakugou grumbled to you.
You shook your head. "I think they prefer you."
"My feet are killing me..." He grumbled and stomped away with the pair of children laughing as he moved.
You continued to wait for your noodles, paying slight attention to the noises that came from your living room. The happy laughter of the pair of children blocking out any groans from your husband. You smirked... it must be hard to be the favorite parent.
Usually he could handle Katsuko just fine by herself, but with Midoriya and Uraraka on an extended mission this weekend, it meant double trouble for Bakugou. Two two-year-olds were hectic enough for him... and it was about to become even more troublesome thanks to a frantic call you had gotten about fifteen minutes ago.
As if on cue with your memory, frantic knocking came from the front door of your apartment. Bakugou was released by the weights on his feet, as they instead went running towards the front door.
"Yuuto! Yuuto!" Katsuko hollered. "Yuuto is here!"
"Yuuto! Hello, Yuuto!" Hiroki cried.
You giggled, ruffling the boy's curly brown haired locks. Hiroki looked up at you, wide green eyes curious and interested. Always the perfect mix between his parents it seemed.
"Let me open the door before you start saying hello, Hiro-kun." You laughed and walked past the excited kids.
You ushered them back and unlocked the door. It revealed a family of three. Yuuto looked at his parents and then nodded to them, walking inside. Todoroki nodded to you, looking to Momo. She giggled, touching her stomach slightly.
"Thank you again." She spoke. "I hope either of our families will be able to get him tomorrow afternoon."
"It's not a problem." You spoke, hearing the kids already take off running back down the hallway. "And good luck. How are the contractions?"
Momo inhaled softly. "They are fine for now... but we best get to the hospital soon."
With that the pair left and you closed the door. Walking back into the kitchen, you deemed the noodles to be done and started to drain the hot water. Your mind wanders to your old friend as you did so.
Her water had broken suddenly today. A month early it seemed, but their soon to be born daughter was ready. Unlike the rest of their family, all of whom were busy. Thus, Momo had asked you to watch Yuuto tonight and into tomorrow while his little sister was born.
You couldn't believe how quickly Momo's second pregnancy went by. But then again... they had been a little more secretive this time around. Turned out Momo had been five months pregnant at Katsuko's party. She was barely showing then, and still barely showed now. You sighed. Some women were lucky they got such an easy pregnancy. And then some like you and Uraraka woke up every morning to vomiting.
