By now the sun was halfway up in the sky. You were getting hungry, but you did not want to seem too needy, so you said nothing.
Aizawa yawned. "Well, nothing much has happened since that spider person this morning. And I doubt anything will happen soon. You guys hungry? We should get lunch." Both you and Hitoshi said yes enthusiastically at the same time. You laughed. Your group started walking towards the food stalls.
Aizawa had paid for the food. He had even gotten you your favorite dish. Hitoshi leaned over to you. "Want some of my boba?" He asked. He had already drank out of it. You were afraid Aizawa was going to call him out for being inapropiate, but he said nothing. He was either busy or did not care. "Actually, I'd love to, but you already knew I'm lactose intolerant." He appeared surprised. "How would I have known that? I don't stalk you or anything," He replied. "I'm surprised you still haven't figured out my quirk yet. After all, you've known me for a long time." He just shrugged.
After eating, you guys walked around the city. Nothing interesting happened. There were no villains. You ate supper. The sun started going down. You had expected to do more during this day, but the only interesting thing that had happened was when the day started. "Don't be too bummed out. Sometimes hero work is as chill as this. You should be great full for the brief reprises you get." Aizawa said to you out of nowhere. "Yes, sensei," you replied.
"(Y/N), go over and check out that alleyway. And do it stealthily." Aizawa said. "Yes sir." The alley was long and dark, and there were some strange noises coming from back there. It seems like most crime happened in scary dark alleyways. He had obviously meant for you to turn into a cat. You had hoped to show off your quirk to Shinsou, but this was not really what you had in mind. In a few seconds, your clothes had transformed into a rippling fur coat, and you were a tiny little kitty. "Oh my gosh, you were in my room!" Hitoshi said, sounding shocked. "Oops. Guess so." You started padding down the alley. It was a scary world for a little cat like yourself. Thankfully, you were more than a cat, and you had backup waiting in case anything went wrong. You neared the noises. They were human voices. A loud male voice said, "Listen up lady, if you don't get us our money in two days, your husband is dead. Your son is dead. Your baby is dead. I will personally strangle them myself. Your type of people is not welcome around here, and if you don't give us some cash, you are in for it." The woman was dark skinned, wearing a sort of head covering. It must have been a religious fight. You had heard enough. You scampered back to the other end of the alleyway. "There's a lady in trouble. Follow me," you said. Aizawa and Shinsou were figuratively on your tail, running after you. The man in the alley turned towards you with a malicious smile. "Heroes? You seriously had heroes waiting there for me? You're really a dead woman! My men will kill your family! You don't belong here!" He took out a dagger. You turned into a giant cat like you had done during the sports festival, and pounced on him, pinning him down on the ground. He was so surprised that a little cat had turned into a giant one that he tried slashing at you with the dagger and totally missed, cutting only some fur. You growled at him, a low, menacing sound. Hitoshi used his capture scarf to the dagger out of the man's hand. "Are you hurt?" Hitoshi asked you. "No." Aizawa took the evildoer to the police station, and the police took the woman and her family into protective custody. You and Hitoshi waited. "So... I guess we did a lot together that I didn't know about, you being a cat and all. Sorry if I made it awkward. I mean I didn't know it was you I just thought you would make a good horse in the Calvary battle and I'm so sorry." "Yep," You just replied. "So, uh, when you transform back, you will still have your clothes on, right?" He asked nervously. You laughed and changed into your human form. He shut his eyes, in case he was wrong. The fur that was missing had lead to a gash in the hero outfit, around your waist. Hitoshi opened his eyes, and upon seeing the slash in your outfit, you said, "It's fine." Aizawa came back, and you started patrolling again.
By now the sun was down and it was getting dark out. It was much colder than it had been in the morning, and your tight hero outfit was not well insulated, not to mention the new hole in it. You miss your fur. You shivered. Hitoshi came over to you, taking a clothing item out of his backpack. "Hey, wanna borrow my hoodie? I know you said no last time, but you look really cold now." "No, that'd be too weird. Isn't that something that boyfriends do?" Hitoshi smiled at you. "Yep. Do you want to put on the hoodie?" Was he implying what you thought he was? He was blushing, so he must have been. "Too late, the choice was made. You're too cold." He slips the hoodie on over you so fast that you did not have time to object, and runs to catch up to Aizawa. He snickers.
You catch up to them, and slowly reach out to hold Hitoshi's hand. There is small smile on his face when he feels you. He holds your hand with a little squeeze. "Well, we will soon start heading back to the dorms. I have to use the restroom first, though. Stay here." Aizawa walks away from the two of you, and you are alone with Hitoshi. "So, is it ok with you, if I am your b-boyfriend?" He stutters a bit, embarrassed to say such a thing. You look around. You see no one. It is pretty dark, so they couldn't see you anyway. You press your lips against his. Surprisingly, he backs away from you, seeming pretty stiff. "Hey don't do that," he says, pushing you back roughly. "Sorry," you say, very confused, stumbling backwards. Tears pricked your eyes. Why did you have to be so sensitive? "I thought that-" you hear steps right behind you. Aizawa's back. You must have been so focused on Hitoshi that you, with your cat hearing, didn't even notice.
When you got back to the dorms, got ready for a shower, taking off the sweater. It smelled like him. You started crying. You got in the shower, steam rising around you, the water taking your tears away down the drain. Other than the water, it was so silent. So peaceful. None of the other students were back from their studies yet, because they slept overnight where their mentors were. There was no footsteps, water dripping, or even Mina yelling your name. Meaning, it was just you and Hitoshi in the dorms tonight. And he wasn't making a sound. You decided he must have fallen asleep. When you got out of the shower, you got dressed and took out your phone. Hitoshi had texted you almost half an hour ago. Sorry I pushed you away, literally and figuratively. Meet me on the porch of 1-A Alliance in half an hour if you can forgive me.
Hitoshi's POV:
I just texted them, hoping they could let it go. I saw Aizawa coming near us, so I didn't want to make it awkward for the teacher. That was the only reason I had pushed them away. I was such a jerk. They had wanted to kiss me, but I had been the one to stop them. How could I have done that? I would rather have kissed them and gotten slapped than not having been able to kiss them. I sighed. What would I do to make it up to them? I couldn't make it up to them, but I had to try.
Back to Third Person POV:
You stepped out onto the porch, hoping you were not late. "Just on time, how like you." Hitoshi smiled up at you. "Oh, and you took a shower. You smell good. Uh, I mean you look good!"
You looked down at Hitoshi. He was sitting down on the porch with a picnic blanket and a plate. "Want some tuna and crackers?" "Ha, you've found my cat weakness!" You replied, sitting next to him. He opened the can. You purred a little. "Did you just... purr?" Hitoshi questioned. You blushed, clasping your hands together. "Sorry, I can't help it. When I'm really happy, it just happens." "No, no need to apologize, I thought it was cute." He takes out a few crackers puts them on the plate, and puts the tuna on it. Soon all the crackers were gone. You leaned against him, and he put his head down on yours. "I'm so sorry about earlier," he said, sadness in his voice. "Shh, don't ruin the moment," you said back. The crickets and cicadas made their little noises. The moon glowed above you. What a beautiful night it was.
