It wasn't until a week later I was finally able to hang out with Ritsu without Ootori being near. I walked alongside him as we looked for a park. This place wasn't familiar to me, but Ritsu seemed to have an idea where we were.

"Does the name Hirata Fujio mean anything to you?" I look up at him, he froze in his spot slightly before shaking his head. "Please don't lie to me. Your surprise to my question answered me."

"You took me by surprise with your question. Unfortunately I have only heard the name from you and my father but I couldn't tell you much about him." He remarked and nodded his head over to an area in front of us. "There's the park." I smile and saw an ice cream shop.

"If you don't mind I will get some ice cream, want anything? My treat." He shook his head and I made my way to the stand with joy.

Grabbing the cone I smiled at him as we made our way to a bench. "Did your dad mention that Hirata was a target?" I stared up at him, as his stare remained on me. "However your answer won't change my mind about you Ritsu, I still find you as a good person. I just need to know more about his death."

"His death was mentioned." He mentioned quietly, I nod and ate my ice cream a little bit.

"I suspect my mother must have met with your father the night Hirata passed away."

"It was quite a while back, I couldn't tell you exactly what happened."

"My mother poisoned him, she wanted a quiet death but she didn't know how to pass it as a heart attack. I assumed she worked with Coroner but a simple threat could have been made to his life, because any professional coroner wouldn't pass off such murder. Not to mention the coroner mysteriously passed away a few months after the incident." I licked my ice cream and looked at children playing on a playground. "I need to know as much about my Father's death so my mother can be punished fairly." I could feel his eyes on me but I turned to him.

"The Ootori's know the real reason he died, but they don't know what happened really. Ritsu, I need your help." I look up at him, he only chuckled.

"You and Kyoya are very similar Niko. Although you have a cute complex, I can see the wrath behind your eyes." I offered my cone to him which he licked the ice cream.

"I just want justice for my father's death. He was a good man and a great father. He was murdered for selfish reasons and I can't stand for that. I just have to figure out a way to get her the justice she deserves without putting your family in danger." He chuckled, shaking his head.

"Please, we are always in danger. I will help you, I have met your mother a few times over the years, given you have been in pain for a while, I can only assume she did something." He handed the cone back to me.

"If I keep a facade long enough, she will not harm me again. She shouldn't have any reason to believe I am working against her."

"We should discuss this another time. People are starting to take notice of us."

"For all they know, we are on a date." I kiss his cheek, people began  looking away. "See. My family is a powerful group, they know not to step over my mothers bounds. We shall talk about this some other time. If you wouldn't mind it would probably be best if I came to your estate."

"It would be the safest option." Fantastic. I watched him stand up and offer a hand to which I took.

"Sorry to ruin our hangout with such business. But the night is still young, what do you want to do now?"

I looked around the different stands before coming across something Haruhi stopped at.

"I don't understand what rich people want, they could have everything they want." She mumbled, looking over different things.

"Well the thing about gifting, is you don't give what you think they may want but something you notice about them. Small details, inside jokes, small interests you picked up along the way of knowing them." She looked at me and seemed to be processing whoever she picked. "For example, I got Kyoya. He is similar to me and I have a funny idea, which he may or may not enjoy. Then I have one for him that satisfies an interest of his."

"And what's that interest?" She moved away from the vendor, I followed her and shrugged.

"A purple iris, he mentioned it when I got sick and he took care of me." I stopped and shook my head. "Please don't tell the others about that. They don't need to know he helped me when I got a cold."

"Your secret is safe with me, but aren't irises out of season?" I nodded, smiling. I will find an eternal purple iris, one that may never die.

"I can find a way around it. Now do you have any ideas for your person?" She nodded, grabbing my hand and pulling me to a small vendor. I looked at the items, smiling to myself. She had Tamaki, that much was very clear.

"Are you thinking about making your move?" She blushed instantly, I let out a giggle as she glared at me.

"Maybe, but the point is to have him figure out that its me."

"Well do you have anything from an alone time you two had together that meant a lot to you?" She stared into space, I looked at the items again.

"I have an idea its gonna sound super weird but a year ago, Tamaki helped me with my fear by blindfolding me and putting in ear plugs. Now at the time it sounded perverted but it wasn't like that at all. I can write up a note too." I hummed, smiling to myself. It was a cute idea, I had to admit.

"This is exactly why I love gift giving, you can get so creative." I smile at her, which she returned. Next weekend we are going to a lake house, I am assuming we are exchanging then. "For next weekend you and I are sharing a room correct?" She nods trying to search for her gifts.

I still needed to talk to my mother about that. Surely it wouldn't be a problem especially with my improving behavior. Surely she won't have found someone to arrange me with. However, maybe she won't arrange me with someone if I continue this behavior. Maybe she will even let me graduate without arranging a marriage. But I guess the real question is what justice she will run into. Obviously it can't be too quick, I just met Kasanoda and it would raise suspicions. Maybe if-

"Niko." I snapped out of my daze, shifting my gaze towards Haruhi.

"Sorry I was thinking and zoning out." I saw she had a white cloth and some earplugs. "Oh was I just standing here the entire time?" She laughed before telling me I hadn't moved.

"What were you thinking about?" She looked up at me with her head tilted. I smiled slightly, linking my arm with hers.

"About where to find Kyoya's gift. I think I know the place." I began leading her to a vendor and picked out exactly what I wanted to give him.
