I placed my laptop in my bag as well as a few other things for note taking and anything that we may need to begin our new project.
"Where are you going?" I jumped and turned to see Tani peering in from the doorway.
"I have a business meeting to attend. I'm sorry we haven't had many chances to hangout." He nodded and looked out into the hallway. "Are you okay?"
"Gomi got in trouble today. Mom got angry." I bit my lip.
"Did Gomi get hurt?" He shook his head and I let out a sigh of relief. "Okay. So is he just in your room for the day?"
"Yeah, he isn't too happy about it."
"I will check on him before I leave okay, you can stay in here if you want. Raid my bookshelves." I smile as he came in looking through my selection of books. I grab my bag and head towards the twins room. I knock before opening the door to see Gomi moping.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Mom got really angry with me, I didn't expect her to yell so much." I sat beside him and nudge his arm.
"She loves you, don't let this one incident change your mind. Plus I'm sure she is just in a bad mood." A smile formed on his lips and he nodded. "I have to go to a business meeting but I will be back tonight and we can play some video games."
I stood up and he shot up giving me a hug. A small thank you escaped him and I patted his back before leaving to the front yard getting into the town car. Watching as the scenery changes as we begin moving. Should I confront my mom about yelling at Gomi? I mean she didn't hit him so maybe I shouldn't. I felt the car stop and I stepped out and made my way to the doors of the Ootori estate. Knocking on the door led me to be ushered inside by a butler.
"Yoshio is currently on call, when he finishes he will retrieve you." He mentioned and walked away. I looked around and saw Kyoya walking across.
"Ootori. Nice to see you again." His brows furrowed as he turned before humming.
"Forgot you had a meeting, Akita. How are you feeling?" He came closer and I shrugged.
"Better, thank you for asking."
"You are here earlier than your planned time." He shifted his glasses and I smiled slightly.
"If I am on time than I'm considered late. I prefer being early anyway." The door opened and I stood up straight and bowed towards Yoshio.
"Mr. Ootori, pleasure to meet with you."
"Come inside so we may discuss the partnership." He walked inside and I waved goodbye to Kyoya and sat across from Yoshio's desk. Pulling out my laptop and any and all information I needed to build a contract for him. He discusses his terms he wants for the contract. I lost track of how long we sat there, it went way past five like originally discussed. When we came to a halt we had about half of the contract finished. The rest I needed to do on my own time.
"You surpurssed my son in rank. I'm fairly impressed someone could challenge his intellect. Maybe he has fallen to the other hosts level."
"On the contrary, Mr. Ootori. Your son is much more intelligent than I have ever known. He manages the host club and has taken great precautions to sustain the club. Not once have I seen him falter or make a mistake. Kyoya's perfectionism and organized style is unique and working with him has taught me some skills to possess on my own." I shut my laptop and shove it in my bag.
"You speak highly of him, I'm sure you will find my eldest sons much more impressing. Seeing as your relationship with my youngest is only as friends maybe-" I simply shook my head.
"Sorry to interrupt but if you are suggesting one of other two sons to be a better arrangement than Kyoya, I will have to disagree. Being around Kyoya gives me a chance to improve upon myself. In my eyes he stands out the most of your three sons. Good day Mr. Ootori, I will get back to you when I finish the contract so you may review it."
"Please. Call me Yoshio." He stood up and offered a hand which I shook and took my leave before I ran into Kyoya.
"That was longer than I expected." Smirking I knew how to get under his skin.
"Yoshio and I have had some interesting concepts with the partnership in question."
"You will call my father by his first name, but not me?" The glare of his glasses hid his true emotion but I knew he could be annoyed.
"He requested I do as such. See you tomorrow at school Ootori." I offer a smile and make my way to my car, leaving him stunned.
Making my way home, I walked to my mothers study and opened the door to see her stylist. When I watched my mother stand up, I could tell she was seething. Feeling her hand reach across my face caused me to falter in my spot.
"You are no longer pure, Yushiko informed me you were alone with the Ootori son at the gala. How could you corrupt Yoshio's son you could lose our business with them?!" She pulled me into a chair which the stylist unclipped my hair and applied a paste to it. From the smell of it I knew it was dye. "Now that you are impure, white no longer suits you." I stared straight ahead keeping my mouth shut before deciding to mention how my meeting went. Ignoring what Yushiko could have said to her.
"As far as I know, our partnership with the Ootori's won't change. The meeting I was in with Mr. Ootori went well and he is looking forward to the finished contract." There was no point in fighting her about what really happened at the gala. Her views of me will never change no matter how much I tell her the truth. As she continued to scream at me, I began to feel sorry for the stylist that had to be here for this. I should write her an apologetic letter after this is over. Feeling something dripping on my arm I look down to see the crimson liquid soak into the fabric of my skirt.
I lightly touched my cheek. Great. Just great, she was wearing her favorite rings. She always wore them when she was a nine of being pissed. She knew the damage her rings could cause. I was moved to a bathroom with the stylist who rinsed the dye out. Noticing my mother was not in the room I looked at her.
"I'm sorry you are stuck in this situation, its not fair especially as a guest in this house."
"Don't worry dear, you have to deal with your mother screaming at you. I would have something sooner but-"
"Its not your place, plus she would just ignore your attempts and take it out on me once you leave." I stare at the ceiling as she applies conditioner into the freshly dyed hair.
"I will clean up that cut while the conditioner sits in." She rinsed her hands and grabbed the first aid kit in the bathroom, and started cleaning it. I winsed at the sting the alcohol left. "You are going to have some bruising unfortunately."
"I'm used to it. Thank you for cleaning it for me." She applied a butterfly bandage to keep the cut from opening anymore than it already has.
"Maybe your mother will come around. I don't think I could watch my own daughter distance herself from me." I let out a chuckle.
"She won't. She already lost me." She sighed and rinsed my hair out again and began drying it.
"What is your daughter like?" I looked at her and she smiled softly.
"She is the sweetest. Her name is Kaida, she recently has come out to me and introduced me to her girlfriend. I'm so ecstatic she has found a way to be happy, thats all I can hope for her." I smile softly and yearn for her normalized life. I sat up and looked in the mirror to see the new color. Of course she would choose this color to show my "impurity."
She took her leave and I grabbed my bag heading to my room. Laying on my bed I stared at the ceiling, feeling slumber overcome my body.
