Lillian's POV
It's been a day since Ashton and I have talked. I took the bus to school today, and for the first time ever my lunch table was empty. I sat by myself with my journal and wrote, and sketched. I had more important things to worry about then Ashton being a prick.
I climbed off the bus and walked down the street, today was really chilly but not as bad as it was yesterday. I was determined to get my photo done today for class, with the sky the way it looks. When Ashton and I were little kids we use to go to this hidden spot that was right by a river. Ashton had found it one day walking around, he said he could hear the water a mile away. I pushed back the thick brush that was covering the trail, as I steadied myself before taking a step and slowly walking down the hill.
I held onto the tree's as I slowly moved down the hill, and made it to the bottom. I pulled my backpack from my back and laid it on the ground. I unbuckled the straps and pulled my camera out before sitting down and making sure to get every breath taking view in the photo.
I brought the camera down before checking the picture's, when something caught my eye. The guy from class was coming down the hill. I quickly stood up and grabbed my bag as he noticed me and held his hands up.
"No, stay. I don't want to bother you."
I slowly sat back down as he looked out into the river. I slowly did the same and brought my camera up to my face again before snapping some pictures. He had sat down next to me as I slowly swallowed and looked at him.
He smiled before holding up his old Polaroid as I slowly smiled.
"Nice camera you have there." He said as I said thank you.
"Thank you?" He asked before bringing his hand to his chin and copying what I had just done. I smiled before nodding as he looked back at the river. I flipped one of the switched over as he tapped my shoulder.
"You know Friday I never did get your name."
I narrowed my eyes, he was speaking to fast and not clear enough for me to comprehend.
"You have no clue what I'm saying do you?"
I slowly smiled before shaking my head. He raised his eyebrows before gasping. I giggled as he smiled at me. His eyes squinted together when he laughed, it was cute.
I looked back down at my camera before noticing the spot of water on the screen. I narrowed my eyes before seeing more fall. It was starting to rain, as I quickly put my camera in the bag.
He had stood up and helped me up in the process as it started to down pour, "C'mon."
He grabbed my hand as he started running up the hill, holding onto my hand and the trees in the process. Making sure not to slide on the mud that was forming, I pushed through the brush as he kept hold of my hand. The bus stop bench was right down the road, and we had ran the whole way.
He ran his fingers through his red hair as it started to bleed onto his hands. I chuckled a bit pointing to his hand as he looked at me and mocked my laughing. I started laughing harder as I shook my head. He had whipped his hands on his black shirt, as the bus pulled up and we climbed on.
I walked to the back of the bus to my normal spot as he sat next to me. My hair was drenched, along with my clothes as I pushed my hair behind my ear. I could feel him staring as he lightly tapped my arm.
I looked over at him as he pointed to my ear, "Is that okay? Did it get wet?"
I shook my head and grabbing my phone out before typing.
It's fine, thank god for hair.
He chuckled before nodding, as he looked back at me. I brought the phone back to my finger tips as I typed again before showing it to him.
My name is Lillian by the way.
He smiled before nodding, "I'm Michael."
I smiled before holding my hand up and spelling out Michael, his eyes following along with my hand as he raised his eyebrows. He pointed to himself as I nodded, and typed again.
Nice to meet you Michael.
He smiled at me before nodding, as I noticed we were at the bus stop by my house. I stood up before he did the same and moved out into the aisle.
See you in class?
"Uh, I have no clue how to communicate with you." He said throwing his arms up as I shook my head and walked off the bus. The bus took off as I stood there, the rain drenching me even more.
Lillian, you told yourself you wouldn't fall for a hearing person. They are to much trouble to put up with, they have to learn to sign and they are completely different from you.
I unlocked the bottom lock of my house before walking inside and locking it back. My mom is an English teacher at the University, so she wouldn't be home till late tonight. I walked upstairs before putting my bag in the chair by the door. I quickly began to strip everything off of my body, I needed to shower and get comfortable.
My computer screen flashed as I looked over and noticed an email, as I narrowed my eyes and slowly ran the brush through my hair before moving the mouse over and clicking it.
Dear Lil-J,
It is the colored haired fellow in your Photography class. I assume since we can't formally talk, this is how we communicate. Instant Messaging, and texting is lame. Let's take it old school.
ps. Hope you don't mind I found your Facebook and stole your email.
Michael
I chuckled before sitting down in front of my computer and hit reply.
Dear Chameleon,
Nice to know you have found my social media's. Taking it old school would mean with paper and pen, but this could work too! Also, I will only be able to communicate with you through this until you promise me to learn how to sign?
ps. Did you happen to add me on Facebook because I consider us more than acquaintance's.
pss. Is my name Lil- J as in Lil John because I am dying right now.
Lillian
Unsure of where this friendship was going to go or if it was going to go anywhere at all, it was nice to have someone new in my life.____________________
