Michael's POV
I hated having to clean up before I went home. People were so rude, they never put anything back where it belonged. Guitars will be laying down on the ground, or hanging up in the wrong spots. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my job, but being around ignorant people who are rude made my job suck.
After placing the last guitar on it's rack I clocked out, and walked to the front door. My eyes shifted to across the street when I saw a familiar face walk into the bookstore across the road. I smiled quickly before walking out, and locking the door behind me. This was it, I was finally going to get to talk to her and nothing would get in the way.
I rushed across the street unaware of all the car's coming as I dodged them one by one. Car horns were being pushed, and over used as I slung my arms up and groaned. I adjusted my jacket before opening the door and walking inside. The warmth nipping at my nose, as I smiled at the lady working the counter before making my way through the place.
This bookstore was nuts, books were literally strung from the ceiling. The smell of dust was thick, along with how much was on a book. I turned one of the corner's, there she was.
Her eyes skimmed the book in front of her before she quickly closed the book and shoved it back in the spot. I wasn't expecting her to turn around where I was standing but she did. Her face showed how shocked she was as I slowly took a deep breath.
"I finally found you."
Her eyes adjusted to my lips, as she started to walk past me as I stepped in front of her.
"Wait please, just listen to me."
I realized what I said as she narrowed her eyes at me before giving me a look. Her small body pushed past me as I groaned and turned around before following her. She was going to run, and I wasn't going to be able to follow her everywhere.
She turned past the door and went down the small hallway to the other book's. I raised my eyebrows before following behind her, she pulled another book down from the large selection in front of her.
My eyes slowly flickered to the book she pulled down, her eyes scanning the front. Her small hands turned the pages, her hair falling from behind her ear to in front of her face. I was fighting every urge in my body to stop me from putting those strands behind her ear.
I looked at the book's in front of me before grabbing one from the shelf, and dusting the top off. She gasped before grabbing the book from my hands, her smile was wider than I had ever seen. I raised my eyebrows as she quickly put the other book back and flipped through the pages. The smell of dust was strong with every page she turned.
"Were you looking for that book?" I asked as nodded, before walking towards the cashier.
I followed her to the front, as she smiled at the cashier.
"It''s be $7.89"
She started to put her money on the counter as I quickly took it from her and handed my card to the man. She frowned before taking the money and putting it back into her bag, as the man handed the book to her. She turned around and made her way to the door, and walking out. The warmth from the bookstore was no longer around us.
The crowds of people on the sidewalks was horrible I had lost her within the crowd.
"Hey! Wait!" I shouted before mentally smacking myself, there was no way she could hear me. I slung my body through the crowd when I saw her making her way across the street. The light wasn't red, she was about to walk out in front of traffic.
I quickly ran over towards her, as she stepped off the sidewalk. People everywhere were gasping and shouting. A car was coming at a fast speed off the hill, she was looking down at the book.
The car began to honk, I was still far away. This car had no time to stop, she was going to get hit. Every muscle in my body was tense, my legs were hurting. The crowds of people began to thicken as I pushed everyone out of the way.

My eyes were scanning over every word of this book, I couldn't believe I had actually found this after looking forever now. My feet were leading the way, as people were crossing beside me and all around. The cold air felt numbing against my fingers and skin, as I pulled my jacket down over them before flipping a page.
I felt an instant warmth before noticing a white light illumanting my body. I slowly looked up from my book and turned my head. A car was coming directly at me as I gasped and gripped the book into my hands. IT was like lighting fast speed, within the moment the man slung into me and pushed me out of the way and when the car speed by.
The book had flung to the side as my eyes slowly looked up to the person who was holding me close to them. His hand slowly let my head down a bit, as I slowly let out the breath I had been holding deep inside me. His clear green eyes were staring directly at me, a small scar right above them. His red hair peeking out from beneath is hat, as he slowly opened his mouth.
"Are you okay?"
I slowly nodded before feeling his thumb run along my cheek. Every surface of my body was on fire and was tense. He had finally got up and helped me, as I adjusted my shirt before looking around.
The book had flung into a puddle as I was falling down. I let out a sigh before quickly grabbing it and watching the water drip off of the pages. The words were running along the page, along with the dirt smeared along the sides.
Just my damn luck.
