Lillian's POV
The sunlight beamed against my face again as I let out a groan. I really needed to put those damn things up soon. I pulled my blanket back before standing up and making my way over to the bathroom. Brushing my teeth, and brushing through my hair I had decided on throwing it up in a messy ponytail.
The blinking light in my room caught my eye in the reflection in the mirror. I was running late, Ashton was already here. I let out a groan before quickly doing my makeup and throwing on an outfit.
Shoving my heels on and zipping them up, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen. Ashton was sitting down at the bar eating a banana, his morning breakfast everyday.
"Good morning." He said as I smiled and grabbed my lunch and placed it into my bag.
Good morning, I need you to come by after school and put my curtain up for me in my room. I'm tired of waking up blinded every morning.
He chuckled before I shook my head and slung my bag on my shoulder and looked at my mom.
" Have a good day at school, are you coming straight home?"
I started to open my mouth when Ashton interrupted, "I was actually going to see if you wanted to go hang out tonight with me and Claudia." I slowly raised my eyebrows before smiling, and looking at my mom.
"Alright, have fun!" My mom said smiling as she waved us off to the front door.
I climbed into Ashton's Jeep before shutting the door. It was a tad bit chilly this morning, considering it is in the middle of October. I wanted to tell Ashton about the kid from class but I knew what he would say.
"Lillian, you should give this boy a chance. I know you don't want to try dating a hearing person but maybe that's what you need."
I rolled my eyes before looking out the window, Ashton was like an older brother to me and having him critique everything was a pain in my ass.

I sat at one of the tables near the back of Carlton away from people, it was Ashton's day to come have lunch with me. I pulled my lunch out and looked over to the front, seeing Ashton walk this way.
He smiled at me before holding his hand up and sitting in front of me.
Where's Claudia?
"She checked out, she has a eye appointment."
I nodded before grabbing my fork and taking a bite of my food.
"So, how was the class yesterday? You never did tell me."
It was okay. I had absolutely no clue what she was saying, but I made a friend to help me out.
"That's great, I'm glad you enjoy it. I know how much this class means to you."
I smiled at him and nodded before finishing up my lunch.
So, are we going to meet somewhere? Or are you going to pick me up after school?
"Meet up at the yogurt place in the city around 6ish?"
The light flickered signalling the bell was ringing as I nodded. I stood up and threw my trash away and put my bag on my shoulder.
I'll see you then!
He nodded before getting his things and waving bye to me, and making his way back to school.

After waiting for seemed like an eternity the bus finally pulled up to the bus stop.
I smiled to the bus driver before showing my phone to her, as she nodded. I walked towards the back, sitting in my usual seat. I pulled my journal out before sketching some things, and looking out the window. The night sky was lit up from the buildings and lights, you couldn't even see the stars.
The bus came to a halt, when the destination came up on the screen on the front. I stood up and grabbed my things before following the people off the bus. The walk from this bus stop to the yogurt place was two block's down. I shoved my journal in my bag before making my way down the sidewalk. People were rushing around, and getting to the places they needed to be.
The night air was so crisp and cold as I pulled my sleeves further down my arms.
I could see the sign for the place when my phone vibrated.
Actually, Claudia wants to go see a movie.
I stopped before bringing my keyboard up.
That's fine Ash, go have fun. :) Enjoy the movie, I'll probably get a coffee and go to the bookstore anyways. Text me how it goes later!<3
I slipped my phone back in my pocket and turned back around, going to the coffee shop that was next to the bookstore I went to almost everyday. I walked inside, the warmth instantly surrounding my body.
"What can I get for you?"
I looked up from my phone and noticed Brea's face. I raised my eyebrows and smiled as she did the same.
"Hey!"
Hey, I had no clue you worked here!
"Yeah, I've been working here for about three or four weeks now."
I smiled before looking at the menu, Can I get a white chocolate mocha with a shot of espresso?
"That will be $4.69"
I handed her a five, as she handed me my change. I dropped it into the tip jar and stepped over to the side letting the other customers order. Brea was so pretty, she had a gorgeous smile and is so sweet. She reached behind her and grabbed the coffee and walked over to me.
I'll see you around!
She nodded before smiling, as I walked out of the shop and into the bookstore. I walked down the aisles of books letting my finger run along the spine. Old books covered in dust were my favorite. I took a sip of my coffee before pulling out a book and reading along the front and back.
How will Jane find love with her disability? Will she ever fall in love or will she let herself be alone forever.
I instantly shut the book before putting it back on the shelf as I turned around.
"I finally found you."
