Part 17: Velvet?

Jaune POV:

"Jaune?" I heard a voice call out to me and when I look who it is, it's

"Velvet?"

"Jaune, is that really you?" As I got a proper look at her, I saw she was in bad shape with cuts in her clothing, dirty hair, tears running down her face and shaking like a leaf.

"Velvet, what the hell happened to you?" I ask her as I began walking up to her and hug her.

"Yes, it's me," I soothingly said to her as she began hugging me tighter.

"Jaune I...I lost it all Jaune," She said as I could hear pain and sadness in her voice.

"Lost what?" I ask her as I began slowly petting her ears and humming to make her calm down.

"My...Team...My family...They are all gone..."

"What happened?" I asked with a mix of confusion and curiosity.

"Mission and I fucked up...Big time" I was surprised since Velvet hardly swear, however, this must be serious.

"Velvet, we can't stand here since it's beginning to rain, so why don't you follow me home, and we can talk more there," I told her, and I got a nod back. So I helped her up and brought her home to my apartment.

-------Time skip------------

As we got into my apartment, I sat her down by the couch and went and prepared to make some hot chocolate for her. As I was preparing the hot chocolate I looked over to her and saw she was doing a bit better but still shaking. After finished making the chocolate, I brought it over and gave it to her and told her to tell me her story and not leaving anything out.

"Here, Velvet," I said as I handed the drink over.

"Thank...you," She said as he began drinking it slowly.

"What happened to you?" I asked again.

"Well...My team and I was sent on a mission to a village, and when we got there it was under siege by a Grimm, we went out and helped the militia to defend them only they were so many...we were running out of dust and aura...I saw a beowolf sneak up on coco except, I was too late it lunged at her and killed her...then yatsuhashi and lastly fox..." She told me as she began crying again, so I took her into another hug.

"That is not all is it?" I asked her, and she looked up to me with sadness and loss, then looked back down.

"No....when I got back, Ozpin put me into another team, but I kept on getting bullied and harassed for being a Faunus, and I left Beacon,"

"The bullies told me it was all my fault that my team died...that I was just a useless Faunus that couldn't do anything, not even help my team,"

"Velvet, listen to me," I told her as she looked up to me again.

"You are not useless, you are probably the strongest girl out there that I know, and it was not your fault it, was that stupid Beowulf's fault,"

"But..but" She tried speaking again, but I placed my finger on her lips and kept talking to her and doing my best to make her feel better.

After it felt like hours, I saw Velvet had fallen asleep so I gently lifted her and put her in my bed. I then walked up to the living room to sleep on the couch for the night.

------------------Time skip-------------

Velvet P.O.V

As I woke up, I noticed I was in somebodies bed so I gently and slowly got up and made my way up the stairs only to see Jaune making breakfast.

"Morning, Velvet, how did you sleep?" He called out to me as he gave me a bowl of cereal with the cereal first and the milk last "The proper way to make cereal,"

"I slept amazing...not any nightmares as I would usually get," I told him as I began eating my cereal.

"Awesome to hear, and you feeling better today?" He asked me, and I gave a thumbs up in response.

"Good now, what are your plans for the future?" He told me as I froze for a second, what should I do...I don't have a home or anything...My parents are too far away.

"I don't have any plans...."I told him.

"Then why don't you live here with me, like a roommate, until you get your own place and job?"

"Wait really, you sure about this?" I asked him, unsure if he was fine with it.

"Yea, it's fine, it gets lonely here from time to time so," He said and, after that, we finished up our breakfast he told me that I and him are going shopping. It felt like hours went by as we went to different clothing shops and just hung out.

"Hey Velvet, how you feel about going to a club?" He asked and, I was curious since I have never really gone clubbing so I responded with a yes.

"Awesome, I know just the spot,"

After a bit of walking, we came to a club called Junior's, and when we went inside we were greeted by a pair of twins that was his lover or girlfriend, but I don't understand why I felt a pang of jealousy over them.

We began chatting more and, I asked him what he was working as, and he told me he was in security. I also asked Jaune how he managed to pay for his home since those aren't cheap, although he told he got it from a friend as a gift. After some more drinking, we both went to private rooms with the twins.

I slowly opened my eyes but instantly regretted it because of the sun shining through the window. After rubbing my eyes, I slowly got up and noticed I was naked, lying next to the twins and Jaune who were also naked......
