Part 19: Buying More Business

Jaune POV:

It has been about five weeks since the assassination furthermore the cops are still out looking in full force. But it is to be expected since he was going for the council. But I have thought if I should take over his smuggler routes, though It will be hard since others are already trying. As I was thinking, I felt a hand touch my shoulder, and I turned around to see Velvet.

"Hey Velvet, what's up?" I asked her.

"Nothing much, just wondering if you are okay since you were staring off into space," She asked me with a concerned look.

"I'm okay, just thinking about stuff,"

"Oh, may I ask what?"

"It's about an old friend of mine that is currently having a baby," I lied to her since I couldn't come out and say I was a criminal.

"Oh, okay, but I'm always here to talk if there is something wrong," She said with a smile.

"Thanks," I replied with a small smile of my own.

After talking to Velvet a bit longer. I decided it was time to buy a new business although I didn't know what yet, So I decided on the document forgery business and a weed business. Then I went ahead and drove to the clubhouse buying the two businesses for one point six million lien. Next, I got a text message with coordinates where I could find the starter equipment to begin, so I called up one of my grunts and told them to go and get it.

Then two hours later so I finally got it up and running. As I was watching my grunts, work Ricky came up to me.

"Hey boss, I got some intel on the smuggler Bussines you told me to investigate," He said as he handed me a tablet.

"Right what, did you find?" I asked him while looking at the tablet.

"Well, I found out the major players who are fighting for control, and they are all on the tablet,"

"Huh, Interesting," I replied.

"So should we go after them or just leave it be?"

"Let's just leave it be since we are nowhere strong enough to fight them but go ahead and see if we can't salvage anything from the little war," I told him.

"Understood boss," He quickly said before leaving to do his task.

After watching a bit more of my grunts work and giving them orders, I decided to head back to the city. As I got, back I decided to text Neo and see if she wanted to Hang out a bit, She did, and we decided to meet at an Ice cream shop.

"Hey Neo," I called out and saw her turn around, waving back.

"Hello," She answered on her scroll and dragged me into the shop. Next, I was being dragged into the shop. I went ahead and order some vanilla ice cream, while she bought neo politician. Next, we took a seat and chatted a bit about whatever came to mind.

But after eating our Ice cream, she had a bright idea to go to the club and party. So She practically dragged me away to the nearest club, where we got a bit drunk and danced for a while. Until we ended up in a huge bar fight because someone thought it was fun to pick on neo for her height.

I quickly jumped back to Dodge a fist coming at me from a thug, next struck him in the throat and kicked him in the head knocking him out. I looked to my right and saw that neo was holding up and didn't need my help, I went ahead and rushed a third thug coming towards me.

I went ahead and blocked the kick the third thug did, and I went for a punch, but he managed to block it in time. So I kicked him between the legs before punching him in the face, and he fell, and I jumped on him continuing to punch him in the face. But the cops showed up and put a stop to it, and I found myself detained and brought to a cop car.

"Hey, sorry detaining you," One of the cops said as he uncuffed me.

"No problem Rob, I'm glad you decided to show up., I replied.

"Yea, we were nearby," One of the other cops said.

"Right, thanks, by the way, here a bonus," I said to them and handed around a thousand lien each.

"Thanks," They all replied.

"By the way, can you make sure to beat up those thugs for me?" I asked them, knowing they were willing to almost anything since I have been paying a lot of the cops in the force.

"Sure thing Jaune, talk to you later," Rob said as he left.

After that, I walked over to Neo, who was waiting by one of the other cop cars. She saw me and went ahead and hugged me before pulling away and pulling up a scroll.

"So you are a criminal Jaune," She said on the scroll, and I froze for a second trying to figure out how she found out.

"No? Are you crazy Neo," I said hoping, it was some sorta prank.

"Don't lie to me. I know since these cops told me," It said on the scroll and, I thought it was time for some sorta punishment for them.

" They are just probably lying," I told her, wishing she would let it go.

"They aren't since my partner is paying them off too," She said, and I was confused about who her partner was?

"Partner...What do you mean?"

"Roman Torchwick, you probably know him,"

"Wait, so you are also a criminal?" I asked, and she gave me a nod in confirmation.

"Yup"

"Fuck, and here I thought I was going to be found out by a civilian," I said to her as I gave a breath of relief, and she gave just a giggle.

"But if your partner is Roman, can you perhaps arrange a meeting of some sort?" I suggested to her, thinking if I could get Roman as an ally, it would be great for the future.

"Sure, but I have to go now, see you later," She said and kissed me on the cheek.

"Later," I said rubbing, the part of my cheek she kissed.

Sorry for the long wait, I kinda hit writer's block for a bit but there will probably be updates every weekend but I don't know yet.
