I had an epiphany
That I could make history
That I could prove everyone wrong
That told me I wasn't cut out for this music thing, yeah
I had an epiphany
What if I took my energy
And used it on positive things in my life
Instead of the people that lie to me, huh? (Huh, huh, huh, huh, huh)
Yeah, I had an epiphany

EPIPHANY- NF

Althea walked ahead of me as we went further north. I couldn't help but think about why she was running.

An arranged marriage? If she hadn't run away, I might never have found my mate. Speaking of, I needed to talk to Téfra. I was confused.

(Ashes)

My mother and father are mates. But they're both wolves. I'm not complaining but everyone who is mated in the pack is mated to a wolf. I've never heard of a wolf being mated to a zoí.

(Human/living)

Althea yawned from up ahead which caught my attention.

"We should stop and rest, it's pretty late anyways..." I yelled so she could hear me.

She turned around and nodded. She walked towards a big oak tree and sat down.

She said she was fine but I didn't believe her. I knew she was still hurt by everything that had happened. I was going to cheer her up. I had to.

I sat down next to her and she yawned again.

"Here, lean on me and rest..." I offered. She shook her head.

"What about you? Plus, I should stay awake and keep watch..." she said mid yawn. She sat up straight and crossed her arms. She was till wearing my hoodie and it was much too big for her. I didn't care, I just hoped she was warm.

"It's fine. I'm not the one yawning, you are. I'll keep watch." I said.

She yawned again and rested her head on my shoulder, "Okay, but only if you wake me up when you're tired..."

I hummed in reply and waited for her to sleep before I'd try and contact Téfra again.

The Haze I was feeling before had simmered down and it wasn't so intense.

I leaned my head back onto the tree and closed my eyes trying to concentrate. Although it was very hard. I couldn't help but focus on Althea's heartbeat and her breathing.

My eyes were suddenly forced open and I was back in To Skoteinó Méros.

(The Dark Place)

"You know, if you want to speak to me, all you have to do is call my name..." Téfra stated plainly.

"Téfra..."

(Ashes)

"Yes? What do you want to know?" He asked.

Téfra was still. He always was except for when he wasn't.

(Ashes)

"Our mate. How is it possible that she's human?"

Téfra was silent before he spoke up, "It's rare but possible. No one knows why the Goddess does what she does. Better not to question it and accept it." He answered.

(Ashes)

"I'm not complaining. But, how am I meant to tell her what I am? Who we are?" I asked, "How would I explain that she's our mate? She's running from an arranged marriage, how can I tell her that we are fated to be together?!"

She surely wouldn't believe me. Who would?! This would only stress her out. She's just walked into the very thing she was running from.

"You'll have your chance. You'll know to tell her when we're mates. Do you know what your body does while you're here?"

"What does that have to do with— what if she doesn't want me?" I asked.

Pain shot through my chest and Téfra suddenly fell from his sitting position. It was so intense. Worse than any pain I've ever felt before.

(Ashes)

Téfra groaned, trying to sit up, "She has the choice to—" he groaned again, "She can reject us if she wants to. It's not forced." He managed to strain out.

(Ashes)

The pain subsided, "What was that?!" I asked rubbing my chest the soothe the burning sensation.

"Everything in To Skoteinó Méros is much more intense. O Desmós is very strong. Even the thought of O Desmós being broken will hurt in here. Out there it won't—"

(The Dark Place) (The Bond)

He was cut off by someone calling my name, "Evander?!"

"You need to leave now. Our mate calls you..."

"But wait—"

Téfra walked off and my eyes shut closed. I opened my eyes to see Althea standing above me with a huge branch.

(Ashes)

My heart broke. Was she going to kill me with it?!

"Althea?! What are you doing with that?!" I asked, my chest clenching. Pain.

"What the fuck are you?!"
