That familiar pull hits me hard, knowing I am still connected to Bree, I do everything I can to slow my racing heart and desperately hope she knows I am still with her, no matter how useless I feel.

"What about the end of magic? If that rumor of the prophecy comes to pass, how can we defend ourselves?" someone asks.

Larna steps forward to answer. "Like I said before, no one but the judged will know the real truth until it's all over, but from what I have found from the prophets, magic will leave the land while the judgment is in progress."

"So, it will return once it's over?" another asks.

"We don't know. This is an event no one has done in hundreds of years. We do not have the answers. Please be patient." Larna urges.

Slowly we are able to usher the last of the people on to the waiting Oregrin's, leaving only a small group of us behind.

"Don't think I am accepting this in any way. I still have my fight to face; it will just have to wait for a while." Larna announces.

"For you to fight, you will have to produce your so-called princess to fight with you, otherwise you're just fighting a pointless battle." Madeline retorts.

"You are making a huge mistake." Larna hisses at Madeline.

"We have chosen our path. You need to come to terms with yours." Madeline sighs rolling her eyes.

"You will see Bree was never the chosen one to be judged." Larna retorts.

I laugh. "Ha, that's funny since your people just threw my bonded to her judgment, without knowing anything about what could happen to her or if she would even survive, and then you fight with us when we try to save her. You then tell us our Bree is an illegitimate lie, and every bit of rubbish you have uttered, needs to be adhered to without question. You may have everyone else wrapped around your rubbish, but you don't have me convinced." I retort.

"I never expected to convince anyone, and we were not amongst the others in the fight. We are a part of the ones who reside here." Larna snaps defensively.

"You mean you're a prophet?" I ask.

"In a way I guess I am, but more than anything this is my home. I watch overall."

"How come you're here then?"

"This is where I was raised, and this is where my father told me, we would find Bree someday. This place is very dear to me. With Bree and the king gone, I will be stepping forward to take care of our people until our princess returns. If there is anything you need, I will be only too happy to help. It was enlightening to meet you all." she says dryly and leaves on the next Oregrin.

"I really don't trust her. Things are just not right. There are too many questions, and she just rocks up out of nowhere." I grumble.
