aespa (stylized as æspa) is a four-member South Korean girl group composed of KARINA, the South Korean leader, main dancer and lead rapper, GISELLE, the Japanese main rapper, WINTER, the South-Korean visual, lead vocalist and lead dancer and NINGNING, the Chinese main vocalist.

This group under the agency SM Entertainment has a completely new concept in K-pop: the virtual and digital world of KWANGYA where live their avatars, æ-KARINA, æ-GISELLE, æ-WINTER and æ-NINGNING as well as Nævis, artificial intelligence that help them fight the Black Mamba, the villain and virus that destroys the bond between aespa members and their avatars.

The name aespa is a combination of "æ", which stands for "Avatar X Experience", and "aspect", which means double-sided. Together this means you would be able to experience a new world through another avatar of yourself.

Having won Best New Artist of the Year at South Korea's five biggest music awards shows, aespa is the second K-pop girl group and the 6th K-pop group in history to win a Rookie Grand Slam with this achievement.

The group debuted on November 20, 2020 with the single 'Black Mamba' which will become the most viewed K-pop debut MV in 24 hours on YouTube.

On February 5, 2021, the group returned with a cover of the song 'Forever' initially released in 2000 in the album 'Winter Vacation in SMTOWN.com'.

On February 10, 2021, less than three months after their debut, aespa were named global ambassadors for French luxury brand Givenchy.

On May 17, 2021, the group released the single 'Next Level', a remake of the eponymous song from the film Fast & Furious which will become one of the most listened K-pop songs of 2021.

Aespa's first mini-album, 'Savage' was released on October 5, 2021 and sold half a million copies in just 15 days.

The group will then perform at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, making them the first K-pop girl group to perform at the event.

On December 20, 2021, aespa released a remake of S.E.S song 'Dreams Come True' produced by legendary K-pop singer BoA.

On December 26, 2021, KARINA and WINTER were announced as members of GOT the beat, the first unit of SM Entertainment's new female supergroup, Girls On Top which will debut on January 3, 2022 with the single 'Step Back'.

On April 23, 2022, aespa performs at the biggest music festival in the world, Coachella and unveils the English version of the unreleased song 'Life's Too Short' from their upcoming album.
