So there I was, sobbing into the youngest Salvatore’s chest. He stood there until my sobs died down and my tears dried up. He was gently caressing my head and I couldn’t help but get slightly disappointed when he unwrapped his arms of me.

“Great now you’re giving me the pity look, the kind of pity look dogs with three legs get.” I said, cleaning the area around my eyes with the back of my hand. He chuckled silently and crossed his arms.

“It’s not a pity look, Amber-” I still felt the tingles each time he said my name “It’s an ‘I understand how you feel and I’m sorry you feel that way’ look.”

“You can’t be sorry Stefan, you’re all no emotions ripper Stefan now.” I said combing my hair with my hands.

“Oh come on now, you and I both know that’s not true,” I wasn’t sure I completely understood what he was implying “I mean, you being old and stuff should know better than anyone else that ‘the switch’ isn’t a complete switch and it doesn’t last long anyway. Plus I haven’t shut out my humanity yet.”

“You’re right, sorry,” I said in a serious tone, just before a smile crept its way up to my face “you’re just as sensible as a pregnant woman without ice cream.” He pushed me and I pushed harder. “Now I want my food.”  He let out a laugh and walked over to the bags.

I sat on the floor and he followed, sitting in front of me and placing the bag between us, handing me a carton of buffalo wings and another one with nachos. He took out plastic fork and started eating his pasta.

I just ate the wings and nachos with my hand because what kind of idiot would need a spork for that.  I was eating my fourth bbq wing when I decided it wasn’t the best choice for a date, seeing as I had bbq sauce in the corner of my mouth and a little on my cheek. Wait. Is this a date? After that thought I got really nervous, god I was such a schoolgirl.

We had been sitting in a comfortable silence until Stefan looked at me, I thought we were having a sexy eye moment until he burst out laughing, making me remember my not-so-alluring look, with my eye makeup smudged and my lips tainted with the sauce. I couldn’t help but join in laughing when he didn’t stop. After I got over the fact that he wouldn’t stop laughing at me, I grabbed a napkin and proceeded to clean my face when a hand grabbed my wrist.

Stefan had stopped laughing and was now kneeling in front of me.  He took the napkin from my hand and swiped it ever so gently on my cheek, he repeated that over and over on my chin and lips, “You would have never gotten that” he whispered as he cleaned my nose, a place I didn’t know I had gotten sauce on. I bet if it was anybody else doing this it’d be romantic but I felt ridiculous. When he was done whipping the sauce of my face he sat down again. Looking at me with a confident smirk.

“How did you manage to get sauce on your nose?” he asked clearly nor expecting an answer

“How did you manage to get us to a bar where it’s most popular drink had vervain as a main ingredient?”

“Touché.”

We sat there, playfully annoying each other for a while until Centuries by fall out boy blasted out of nowhere. I was about to sing along to it because it took me a few seconds to remember it was my ring tone. I picked up, not bothering to check the caller ID.

“Where the hell are you? Didn’t skip town again, right?” he sounded very pissed off, I cringed, moving the phone a little further away from my very sensitive ear.

“Relax Klaus, we’re…here. I don’t exactly know where though…” I stood up and walked to the edge, noticing the shopping mall me and Stefan had been to was kind of far away.

“ I hope you understand my anger. You two leave alone in the middle of the night to get a drink on a local bar of a town that knows about vampires and disappear from the faze of earth for a good fourteen hours.”

“Relax Klaus or I might start thinking that you’re worried,” I smirked and looked at Stefan who was intently listening to our conversation.

“Well it would be inconvenient to lose my witch and my ripper before we even got to Chicago.”

“Okay okay we’re on our way, but don’t expect me to go use my magic immediately, I need at least half a day to sleep.”

“Whatever just get back here.” After we finished our meals we headed to the room. As soon as I got there I was greeted by a -still- very pissed of Klaus. I explained what we did, not giving much importance to it.

“I get it. You two went feeding and shopping but at least bother to give me a call.” I just rolled my eyes and headed to my room

“At last, my love we have been reunited!” I cheered as I jumped to my bed. My blissful moment was interrupted when a bunch of bags attacked me out of nowhere. Took me a minute to realize they were my bags and that they didn’t attack me, Stefan just thought it was convenient to annoy me and dropped them on top of me.

I had to try extra hard to get up after not sleeping for like a thousand years “Urghhh awww shit” I groaned as I failed miserably to get up without using my hands and rolled of the bed. “Oh fuck” I said as I realized most the bags were also on the floor. I grabbed a few and continued to stuff them in the closet when my favorite hybrid appeared on the door, well not on the door, leaning on the door.

“Watch you language sweetie,” I rolled my eyes “and I wouldn’t do that” he said gesturing at the stuff I stuffed in the closet. “We’re laving tomorrow so just pack up what you won’t wear.”

I stripped of my clothes and stuffed all that, plus my new clothes in my bag; they didn’t fit so I just put all the rest of the clothes in a plastic bag. I showered and put on my onesie. I told Klaus I’d sleep for 12 hours and I was for sure planning on it.

As soon as I hit the pillow, well my head hit the pillow- I didn’t actually hit the pillow- whatever. I fell asleep immediately after I closed my eyes.
