Chapter 6 Project A

"My parents have worked on the same project for years. Before I was even born, day and night, tired or not, they haven't stopped working on it. I have never seen them so persistent before! I've spent my childhood wondering what they were doing.
Any time I asked if I could help them, they said that it wasn't something a kid should worry about. And so it went like this for several years, until one day, they gave up"
Hordette explained to Finn and Cupid.
"Why?" Asked Finn.
"They need one last piece to complete the project. I'm going to find out what it is and I'm going to bring it to them! So I can make a sense of aLL THOSE NIGHTS THEY SPENT AWAKE!" Hordette beated her fist on the side keyboard and left a dent on it for how strong she was.
Emily tenderly brushed on her sister's arm and Hordette calmed down a bit.
Finn went close to her and caring stroked her hair.
They said that they would help her. Then they turned to Cupid.
He stuttered and asked to Finn: "But-! H-How do you know we can trust her!?".
"She saved us without knowing if she could trust us. We owe it to her".
Cupid thought about it for a minute. Then he got close too and asked to Hordette:
"Can you tell me, that if we help you find that missing piece, this 'project A' will not be used to hurt other people?".
Hordette looked directly into his eyes.
"I promise" she said "Neither me nor the rest of my family will use it to hurt other people. . . or robots, or clones, or-"
"Yes, I got it!" concluded Cupid.
Hordette and Cupid shook their hands under the happy gaze of Finn.
"Now, we need the code to those files" Finn said.
Hordette was sure that her father still remembered the code, so she tried to enter Hordak's memories.
Like he did to find her in the closet, Hordette closed her eyes and concentrated.
She managed to find out the code, but Hordak instantly found out that she used their connection.

"What is it, Hordak?" Entrapta saw him holding his head, like he just had a brain freeze.
The two of them were having dinner with Wrong Hordak, who cooked alone a delicious meal for his family.
"I think Hordette just made a connection with me" said Hordak.
"Is she trying to brain-call you for asking to get her home? Tell her to stay a little longer! SOCIALIZE AND HAVE SOME SNACKS!" Screamed Entrapta in one of Hordak's ears.

"Yes! I've got the code!" Hordette typed it on the keyboard and the files of the Horde openned to them.
Hordette only found something about a key, that could activate her parents machine.
It didn't specify what it was, or where to find it.
"This key is the missing piece! We need to figure out what it is. . ." said Hordette.
"Can't you just type it on the computers?" Asked Cupid.
It was impossible, the memory of those computers was too damaged.
"This computer is too dumb!" Finn said "where do we find another one more prepared?".
Hordette remembered that her mom once told her about an infinite source of informations, like a brain of the planet Etheria.
"The problem is" She was saying to them "it's located far away from here. On the Beast Island".
"The island were your dad was sent as a punishment for his crimes?" Asked Cupid.
"No! It's the island that he hepled cleaning up! Alright?!" The girl wanted to clarity.
Still, it was very far away.
Hordette, Emily, Finn and Cupid were leaving the sanctorum to go back to the Prom, that was almost over, and they had no idea what to do.
"You still want to help me find the key?" Asked Hordette to Finn and Cupid.
"Sure! It's not over yet!" said Finn "right, prince?".
Cupid wispered a yes, but he wasn't so determined like his friend.
The four of them found a way out through the corridords of the Fright Zone. They came out of a cave, close to Scorpia's castle.
Hordette suddenly sneezed.
"Oh, my! Have you caught one of those colds?" Cupid teased her, while Finn was laughing.
"It's the flowers! They're everywhere in this Kingdom!" Said Hordette.
They were able to sneak inside the castle, without been seen from the other guests.
"We are going to find our parents. You stay close, but not too much. You are coming with us to Bright Moon" Finn was explaining the plan to Hordette. She suddenly grabbed Emily and went down a table.
Finn and Cupid looked behind them and saw Adora, arms folded and forrowed eyebrows.
"H-hey, mom!" Said Finn.
"WHERE IN THE NAME OF ETHERIA HAVE YOU BEEN!?" Adora screamed so loud.
