(Y/n) panted, forcing her way through the thick brush as her men followed. A few thorns rubbed against her armoured forearms, adding new scratches to her varied collection. She couldn't recall how long they had been running for. Minutes sometimes felt like hours, and hours felt like days. On this planet, the sun didn't even seem to move across the sky, as if time itself had warped and kept everything still.

"Pepper, how long has it been?" she inquired with a huff. He checked his wrist. "Two and a half hours in standard time Commander." Storm glanced at a leathery winged bird flying overhead, paying no mind to the little animals scurrying past his boots. The bird cast a dark shadow, sheltering them in darkness before it disappeared over the mountainous terrain. "I don't like this place." he grumbled. "I don't know why, but it feels weird." (Y/n) ducked under a thick branch, carefully eyeing the land swarming with bugs and animals and so many other things she wasn't sure she liked.

She scratched at her arms and face, gritting her teeth in irritation. "Mosquitoes seem to like me very much." You rubbed your finger over a swollen bump on my cheek. "Sometimes I wish I had armour." Storm chuckled as Pepper searched his pack for medicine. "Here Commander," he handed her an ointment, "this might help." She smiled in relief. "You are such a lifesaver Pepper." They continued on, discreetly climbing over rocks and small hills. No one knew where they were going, and it was becoming a game of cat and mouse.

Every so often, they had to scramble for cover. Stormtroopers had been deployed not too long ago, but at least the star destroyer had blasted off at the speed of light. High in the sky, Pepper motioned to the TIEs zooming towards them. They appeared out of nowhere from over the mountain range and lowered themselves as close as they could get to the ground. He motioned for (Y/n) and Storm to hit the deck. No chances needed to be taken for them to get spotted. There were a few moments of silence where all Pepper could hear was the choppy rhythm of his breath. Suddenly, just as quickly as it came, the shrill 'nyyoooom' of the TIEs faded. He hauled himself off the ground, eyeing the small dots in the sky. Storm gently tapped his shoulder. "We should keep moving."

And so they did.

(Y/n) wasn't sure what to think of the planet. It was so full of life and untouched that she felt bad for crash landing on it. There was no doubt the Empire might torch it all to ashes just to find them. She sensed unease among her men too, and it was as if they all were telepathic: We need to find the boys. As the Commander, (Y/n) held herself in high regard. She had to be responsible, compassionate, and tactical. Her men needed her to lead, but right now, she wasn't sure how. "Storm, does your HUD have any useful information about the planet besides its four hundred something collection of rare plant species?"

"I wish." A groan left his lips as he flicked his visor up. "I don't need to know how many times a day that womp-rat-looking-thing eats, or how rare that purple plant is to the Intergalactic Gardening Club!" He kicked a rock so hard that it flew at least twenty meters before getting stuck in a tree. "I don't think it's even possible to establish a rendezvous point. None of the comms are working, they're being scrambled." There was a moment of silence as (Y/n) tapped her wrist comm. The static filled up the quiet, adding to the sights and sounds of the unknown planet.
