-i think anger can be one of anyone's biggest enemy because it can be directed at so many different things like yourself, the world, or people. worst of all? it's not easy to deal with
-sorry i haven't updated in like a mONTH. i did something called 'shifting' and it really took a toll on my energy/mental strength to do anything. on top of that, i've been getting writer's block AND too much homework T__T

The wind hissed, biting at your cheeks as you surveyed the darkened skies. The snow wasn't letting up anytime soon, and it could have been a sign that a blizzard was sure to come overnight. (Y/n) wasn't surprised, she knew what to expect on this distant and cold planet since she had ventured here long ago. Hoth was a dangerous residence for the Rebellion Alliance with its below zero temperatures, relentless icy gusts of wind, and wild wampas. Funnily enough, Luke and his squad were the ones who decided this was the 'perfect place' to lie low.

(Y/n) thought back to the horrors she had experienced while on a mission to Hoth. Long ago, one of her men, Clay, had come way too close to having his head torn from his shoulders. Of course, Nova Squad had reacted swiftly to put down the threat, but these rebels were nothing like her men. They were not trained since birth to resist frost bite and fevers. They weren't even fully-trained soldiers prepared for the front lines! Nearly everyone was either a regular civiie, a farmer, or a person looking to bring change to the galaxy. (Y/n) had to admire their spirit, it wasn't something she saw everyday in regular people, but sometimes, spirit could only go so far.

She returned her attention back to the hanger's doors. Snow filtered in, whipping at her face in the last rays of sunshine. Luke had gone out earlier for a patrol with Han and a small squadron. It had been hours since they left, and he was the only one who never checked back in. (Y/n) sensed something was wrong, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to believe it. "Commander (L/n)," came a voice, "I suggest you head inside since the sun's coming down."

She turned to face Wedge, a new acquaintance of hers, with a soft nod. He tried for a smile of reassurance, but it came out rather plainly. "I'll check the south entrance to see if he checked in there. If he hasn't, then I will contact Princess Leia immediately." (Y/n) sent him a kind smile and said, "Thank you Wedge, I appreciate your consideration." He smiled in reply, this time with more energy than the last before scurrying off down the ice-covered walls.

"(Y/n), have you heard anything from Luke?"

She turned around, meeting Leia's tired gaze with a shake of her head. "No, but Wedge is on his way to check the south entrance. He said if he cannot find anything, he will contact you straight away." Leia nodded in thanks, her eyes downcast. "That's good to hear. Besides that, I have a task for you." She lowered her voice to a light whisper that could have been blown away by the wind. "There's information the Rebellion needs to deliver to an informant on Bogano. You've probably never heard of it, but that's because you won't find it on modern maps." She heaved out a shallow breath, eyeing the white vapour leaving her lips. "This is urgent, and I didn't know who else to ask besides you."

There was a moment of silence as the two watched the remaining rebels repair old starfighters and stack boxes in storage closets. A chilly breeze passed from the open doors of the hanger and (Y/n) pulled her scarf just a little tighter around her neck. She shivered, catching the eye of Leia. "Here." Leia removed her vest. "Are all your other clothes wet?" As she helped (Y/n) put it over her shivering shoulders, she carefully surveyed (Y/n)'s cheeks red from the cold. Sometimes, working with her made Leia forget just how young the padawan truly was. She acted more mature than most of the men, and much more rational than even the greatest leaders in the Rebellion.
