These were all things I heard on a daily basis. It stung, it really stung. Sometimes, they blatantly point out my insecurities. They mock the most valuable thing to me, my relationship with Diavolo.
Instead of meeting up with Diavolo after school, you went to the facilities instead. No one was there considering it was no longer school hours and no was permited. Diavolo looked everywhere for you and found you sobbing in the restrooms. He ran up to your side and embraced you tightly. "What happened my love?" He whispered softly. You could barely say anything. "W-Why, why date a powerless and feeble human like me..?" You choked out. Diavolo looked at you as if you were stupid. He loved you for you. To him, it didn't matter what species you were. He cupped your cheeks. "Because darling, I love you. Not for power. I don't care what species you are. I love you for you." The demon spoke. You hugged him tightly, restraining your tears to not get his clothing dirty. "Don't restrain yourself princess, let it all out. I can always get it dry cleaned." Diavolo said while petting the back of your head. He always knew if you wre lying or restraining yourself.
~! Two Hours of crying Later !~
After two hours of weeping, you finally decided to confide in him in a weird way. Held in arms, you spoke up. "D-Diavolo?" You said. He opened his eyes. "Yes dear?" He replied. You inhaled shakily, "What would you do if someone made fun of me?" your voice was very scratchy and almost barely audible but he understood anyway. No reply. Silence. "I would give them something worse than death." He sharpily said. "No one messes with my princess." His face had a devilish grin. The grin suddenly turned into a friendly one. "Anyway, come to the auditorium during lunch." He stated. (That mood swing tho). I have no idea how, but saying that they would have a punishment worse than death itself, made you feel better.
~! Timeskip 2 !~
During lunch, Diavolo had called the whole school to the auditorium. It was very cramped. He walked up to the stage thing and the she-demons roared as if this were some kinda concert. "Ah hello students!" He spoke. "I have called this little gathering today to say something to a special somebody." Diavolo continued. Again, the she-demons fawned, hoping that ot would be one of them. They had completely forgotten about your relationship with him. Diavolo's eyes scanned the crowd and stopped when his gaze met yours. "Y/N, my love, come up please." He said. Literally everyone had their eyes on you. Some even sneered at you. Once you had gotten on stage, a knot was suddenly tied in your stomach. Diavolo turned to you and you turned to him. You were expecting him to break up with you, but he did quite the opposite. He got on one knee, then took out a box from his pocket. "Y/N Y/M Y/S, will you marry me? Despite our differences, including our species, I love you more than everything. Absolutely no one and thing will change that." Diavolo said warmly. You started crying, not out of sadness, but out of joy. You shook your head, tears of joy pouring like a waterfall. You tackled him to hug him. He laughed softly. "I'll take that as a yes." He spoke softly while digging his head into your neck. He left a mark that would let everyone know who you were and if anyone dared to oppose, a punishment worse than death is their future. Suddenly, before you knew it, everyone bowed to you and Diavolo.
