Eclipse's POV
"Woah, I feel like I'm a fish out of water. Literally." Grant said as he shakily got up. I laughed, holding his hand tightly."Because you are a fish out of water!" I said with a giggle, Grant smiling faintly as he got used to walking on two feet. This was probably the first time I've ever seen him in human form. His clothes looked strange, the ones that were, so kindly, given to him. They were very sea-based. Alright. Now the sea was just being unfair, all I got was the clothes I left home in, Grant got a full on sea prince outfit.
"C'mon, this should be the kingdom that my parents' are from. I know this is where my grandma and aunt live. So, makes sense, right??" I asked Grant who just nodded. I've never actually got to visit my grandma, she always would be the one to come visit us or we'd just write to each other. Once Grant was steady, I held his hand and walked into the village, shivering since my hair and clothes were wet and it was getting dark.
Some people stared at us, wondering why the heck we were wet. That or they were staring at Grant's seemingly very fancy clothes. Well, despite the looks we got, I was determined to find out about my father's past and his birthright. While walking, a man walked up to us with a concerned look.
"Are you two alright? Are you lost??"
"Huh? Oh, uh, no we're not lost. Just, visiting.."
"Where do you live?"
"We aren't from here. We uh, got, shipwrecked..?" I asked, almost more than said. Grant smiled faintly as the man looked even more concerned.
"You two must be freezing. If you'd like, you can come with me. I have food at home and a fireplace for you both to warm up." He offered. I looked at Grant hesitantly before deciding, yeah I was freezing, exhausted, and hungry. We followed the man to his home, being greeted by another girl who looked about my age.
"Hi dad." She said with a smile, looking at Grant and I curiously before allowing all of us in. The man smiled and gestured to his home.
"Please, make yourselves comfortable. Rem, could you get them some blankets??" He asked his daughter who nodded and walked off. Grant and I sat down together as I shivered.
"Thank you, sir."
"Please, call me Suga." He said with a warm smile. I nodded, thankfully wrapping the blanket around me that Suga's daughter brought back. Another man walked over, questioning Suga about us before nodding in understanding. The other man, who said his name was Daichi, poked at the fire to make it burn brighter. I hummed in contentment at the heat as Grant pulled me closer to warm me up some more. Suga and Daichi sat down in another seat kind of across from us. Suga handing us some warm cups of tea.
"So, where are you two from that you got shipwrecked so far out??"
"Oh, um, a village really far away."
"Ah, well don't worry. There are plenty of ways I'm sure you both can get home. I can't imagine getting in a shipwreck out there. And then coming here since our little village isn't super close to any ports or docks. Are you hungry??" Suga asked, to which I quickly nodded. He smiled, getting up and saying he'd prepare something. Daichi watched before looking at us both.
"So, what're your names?"
"I'm Eclipse. This is Grant."
"Eclipse, what a, familiar, name.. Well, it's very nice to meet you both."
"Heh, thank you. And thank you so much for allowing us to rest here.. Um, can I ask you something though?"
"Of course."
"Well, since we aren't from around here, I was curious about the uh, the king and queen? Since you obvious have one, considering the size of that castle." I said, trying to not sound to stupid or suspicious. But probably ended up just sounding moreso. Daichi chuckled slightly with a sigh.
"Well, what are you curious about??"
"Well I mean.. what are their names?" I asked, Daichi telling me. I stared before gritting my teeth. So. My dad really was the prince.
"Eclipse, is there something wrong??" Daichi asked when I went silent.
"Did the king and queen ever have a son?"
"They have a son right now. In fact I think he's your age."
"No. I mean. Years ago. Like. Over 30 years ago. Who's name is Tobio Kageyama..?"
"...How do you know about that...???"
"Tobio Kageyama is my father's name."
"...Do.. do you have another father named Shoyo Hinata....?" He asked in complete shock. I nodded my head, Daichi calling Suga back in. Suga wandered over, Daichi whispering in Suga's ear before they both just looked shocked to the core. Suga walking closer to me.
"Oh my god, so.. you're Hinata's and Kageyama's daughter..??"
"Yes.."
"What, what are you doing all the way out here..? Are you alright? Are they alright??" Suga asked with worry. I looked at the two a bit confused myself.
"Do you guys know my parents or something? Because, I don't think they ever talked about you guys."
"Oh.. Sorry, we were servants at the palace for years. My husband and I worked there when your father was little. And we were there when they, well, ran away."
"Wow, you knew my dad when he was little?"
"Well, I knew both your dads when they were younger. We've only been in touch with them through Hinata's mother and the letters she received from them."
"You know my grandma too?"
"Mhm. We visit her from time to time. We used to visit her a lot more when Hinata and Kageyama first ran away."
"I see, I'm glad you took care of her... Suga, do you think my dad should've been king."
"Yes, I do. He would've been an incredible one at that. Especially with Hinata by his side. But, the king and queen simply wouldn't allow it. They did everything they could to keep your parents apart."
"And that's why they ran away together..."
"Yeah.. are you alright?"
"It's just, it's not right. MY dads should be the ones in the palace, they had EVERYTHING taken away from them." I said, Grant gently pulling me closer in an attempt to calm me a bit. I took in a deep breath, apologizing for my mini outburst. Suga smiling faintly.
"I can see a lot of Hinata's spirit in you. And a lot of Kageyama's strong will too. But you have to understand that they did it because they wanted to be together."
"But, but they should've gotten to be together here. Not as poor blacksmiths. And here they are, raising another son to take my dad's place."
"Eclipse-"
"How do I request an audience with the prince."
