Chapter 14

Grant's POV
"Alright. That should be the last of your injuries. Do you feel better?"

"Yeah, I do. Wow. So. What other magic do you guys have aside from healing??"

"It differs for each mermaid. My father has the ability to create water currents. My other father has the ability to create portals if the conditions of the water are correct."

"Woah.. so, what's yours?"

"I am actually not a full mermaid."

"What do you mean?"

"My fathers found me when I was little. I was aboard a ship that wrecked. The only reason I am able to heal is because of this." I said, Akihiko turning around while pulling his shirt down. Looking at a necklace I showed him. He tilted his head and reached out, touching it.

"What is it??"

"A necklace made of, well, I shouldn't say. But it is something very special that my father gave me."

"Oh, I see. Wait. So. You got two dads?"

"Mhm."

"Huh."

"Is something wrong?"

"No, I'm just surprised."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I don't think I've just heard of, ya know. That."

"Really? Eclipse has told me that there are male servants here that are together. And Eclipse has two fathers too."

"I uh. Must've missed that." He said, scratching the back of his head. I shrugged and died my hands. I knew that there were many humans who found it strange, so I pushed no further until Akihiko spoke up.

"So. Do you really think that I could come home with you? I mean.. the king and queen can't go underwater to get me, right?"

"No. Besides. They do not know where my people live. And we have protection anyway."

"What kind of protection??"

"You've read about mythical creatures it seems. Take a guess."

"Well. I haven't read THAT much. But, I think there are like. Giant sea creatures??" He said with a small smile. I laughed slightly and nodded.

"Yes, I suppose to simplify it, we have giant sea creatures." I said, Akihiko smiling slightly with a nod when Eclipse crashed into me from behind. She laughed hard when we both fell into the water of the fountain. Akihiko laughing too.

"Found you guys!"

"Eclipse..!!"

"Sorry, couldn't pass down the opportunity."

"I will get you back for that."

"Mhm. So. What were you two doing?"

"Just talking." I said as Eclipse got off of me, giggling as she sat in the water. Akihiko laughed again before I grabbed him and pulled him in with us. He yelped out in surprise before getting up, but it was too late, his clothes were already soaked.

"H-hey what did I do-!"

"Laughed at me." I said, the prince pouting as he carefully climbed out. Eclipse and I both got out as well, Akihiko complaining he was cold now, so we all decided to go to his room to dry off. Someone named Nishinoya brought us towels and managed to find spare clothing for me and Eclipse.

"So. Can I tell you guys something." Eclipse said as she turned her back to me so I could help her undo the back of her dress.

"Of course." I said, Akihiko blushing as Eclipse's dress got lower.

"D-Do you want to change in like... the bathroom for privacy...???" He asked, Eclipse looking at him. She smiled faintly and waved her hand.

"Not unless it really bothers you?" She offered. Akihiko's face was red but he shook his head. She nodded, continuing to talk while taking her dress off. I was used to seeing her body considering this is not the first time I have helped her change. I do remember one time I was caught staring at her when she was visiting me underwater, and Tobio was with her. He gave me a very, very long talking to. Of course I'd never try anything considering she was still a bit young and never without her consent, but.. she also was very attractive.

Akihiko's POV
I tried my best to not look at Eclipse while she changed. She was talking about something involving the servant Yamaguchi. I was half listening when Grant stripped himself of his clothing as well. I shook my head and just turned around to avoid looking at either of them while I changed as well. After all our wet clothes were taken away, we sat together on my bed. Grant sitting behind me and drying my hair with a towel while Eclipse was brushing hers.

"Okay so. Here's the kinda.. scary part." Eclipse muttered, fiddling with the brush in her hands.

"I talked to Yamaguchi just a bit ago. He said that if I do my plan, that my dad would become king."

"Wow, really???" I asked, giggling when my vision got covered by the towel. Grant apologizing as I just reached up and held the towel up a bit.

"Mhm. But... he also said that. That there would be a lot of blood shed..."

"..Really..?"

"Yeah. And that's exactly what I was afraid of." She said quietly. Grant stopped, pulling the towel away and looking at both of us.

"Who will die?" He asked, Eclipse shaking her head and saying she had no idea. Grant furrowed his brows before standing up, tossing the dampened towel aside. Eclipse and I looked at him as he paced around a bit before looking at us both both with total seriousness.

"Then I think that all of us and our families should retreat until the blood bath is over."
