Hinata's POV
"Gee that was such a long swimmmm.." I complained a bit, Tobio smiling and rolling his eyes as he helped me to my feet. Bokuto shook his head, looking around before huffing.
"Okay. Which way to your village." He asked in a hurry. Tobio and I got up and led Bokuto towards where our village is. Finally coming across it after what felt like ages. Bokuto only took a few moments to look about in awe at the village above land before asking where the heck could Grant and Eclipse be.
"Well, Eclipse knows that my mom and Natsu live here. Maybe she went to one of their homes?" I suggested, all of us heading to my mom's home first. I knocked, after a few moments my mom opened the door.
"Shoyo!" She said, grabbing me and pulling me inside. Tobio and Bokuto chuckled and stepped inside as well.
"Hi, mom. Hey, is Ecl-"
"Eclipse is here!" She said quickly, Tobio and I looking at each other when Bokuto asked if a boy was with her. Bokuto asked what the boy looked like, my mom describing Bokuto and Akaashi's son.
"Okay... good.. they're both here. Well, I dunno if that's actually good but at least we know that they're here." I said, patting my mom's shoulder as she finally let go of me. My mom looked anxious when I looked at her.
"Is something wrong mom??"
"Well.. It's just, it's just that Eclipse and her friend.. went.. to the.. castle.."
"What!?"
"Eclipse was saying something about being friends with the prince.." My mom said sheepishly. Tobio and I stared before heading for the door, Bokuto stopping us.
"Hey, you two are surely gonna be recognized. No one there knows me, let me go look." He said, Tobio and I looking at each other anxiously but agreeing since Bokuto was right.
"Okay, but please be careful.." I said, Bokuto nodding and thanking my mom before dashing off.
Grant's POV
I sighed, pacing around boredly. Stupid prince let Eclipse in but nooooo, I couldn't go in again. I didn't like leaving Eclipse in there alone. Besides, why the heck couldn't I go in. Before I had anymore time to think, someone tackled me and both I and the other person fell onto the ground.
"Ow! Hey who- dad!!??" I said in shock, staring at my dad who had knocked us both to the ground.
"GRANNTTTT I was so worried do you know how worried your father and I were please never disappear like that again I don't know what I would do if you just disappeared like that and never came home we didn't know what happened to you-"
"Dad dad dad okay I'm sorry but I'm right here!" I said with a small smile, my dad finally climbing off of me and helping me up. I rubbed my back and the back of my head. The ground on land hurt a lot more than in the water..
"Sorry Grant, you okay?"
"Yeah, I hope that isn't how dad felt when we'd surprise attack him when I was little.."
"Don't worry about that, doesn't hurt that bad underwater."
"Huh? Hey how would you know."
"Uhhhh, your dad and I... played rough sometimes too."
"....???"
"..."
"Oh dad GROSS!" I said, sticking out my tongue and scrunching my nose in disgust. My dad laughed and ruffled my hair.
"Hey at least we got someone to watch you when we'd go to the surface instead of taking you with us, so you never had the opportunity to walk in on us have s-"
"DAD SAY ONE MORE WORD AND I'LL KNOCK YOU OUT MYSELF!" I said, covering my ears. I knew how human sex worked, but still, I really really really don't need a mental image in my mind of my dads doing it. My dad laughed hard, shaking his head before composing himself.
"Okay okay I'm sorry now enough of that subject. Where's Eclipse?"
"She's in the palace."
"What? Where."
"I don't know. Stupid prince in there lets HER in but not me.. I don't see why I can't go there with her."
"Something wrong?"
"Well, I'd like to be in there with her in case anything happens.."
"Sounds like you really care about her huh?"
"Of course I do. We've known each other since we were little." I said, my dad chuckling slightly.
"What?" I asked with a small smile.
"It's just funny. Don't you remember when you guys were little and Eclipse would visit? You'd always try and swim faster to get away from her because you thought she was to little to hang around with you."
"Well, I mean, hey give me a break it feels like a huge age gap when you're younger."
"Oh I'm not nagging at you about it, I just think it's funny how far you've gone from trying to hide from her in the coral beds to, well, you know."
"..Know what."
"Liking her."
"Who said I like her! At least in that way." I grumbled, crossing my arms. My dad just grinned and me and nudged my side with his elbow.
"Denial?"
"Dad.."
"Okay okay sorry. So.. Do you think Eclipse is safe in there? What is she doing?"
"She's talking to the prince."
"Hm. Sounds, relatively harmless enough."
"I mean, I don't think that the prince will hurt her or anything."
"No?"
"No, he seems.. fine. I guess. I only got to meet him for a brief moment but he doesn't seem nearly as bad as I've heard people consider the king and queen. Several of Eclipse's dads' friends have told us the prince isn't so bad either."
"Then, are you just waiting for her to finish talking?"
"Mhm."
"Okay. I'll wait with you, but I really should go tell your dad I found you."
"I think there's a stream further down that way."
"Is it all running water though?"
"No, I went and checked it out. Has a stagnant bit."
"Good, I'll be back." My dad said as he walked off. I sighed and stayed pacing around while waiting. Did I like Eclipse in that way?? I don't know. I feel like I've always just seen her as a really close friend, almost like family. Well, I did as I got older anyway. But now, I mean, she has grown up to be- Aghhhh! Why did my dad have to bring it up and mention it like that. I had to be worried about making sure Eclipse was safe and had some support right now, not if I liked her or not.
