Yamaguchi's POV
"Yama, what're you doing.""Ummm. Nothing."
"Mhm, the keys you stole from Asahi say otherwise."
"...what ke-"
"Before you try and lie to me, may I remind you that said keys are right around your waist." My boyfriend said with a raised brow. I blushed in embarrassment before clearing my throat.
"Well, I just, remember how I told you I want to help Eclipse?"
"Yes."
"Welllll, she asked me to take a look in the-"
"Yama, please don't do this."
"Why?"
"Because if you get caught spying, who knows what will happen."
"But-"
"Yama, you're to precious to me."
"But I promised Eclipse to help her."
"Yama.."
"I'll be okay Tsukki. I promise."
"...Fine. If not. I'm tying you up for your own safety."
"Is that a promise?" I asked, Tsukki looking both flustered before turning away. I giggled, reaching up and cupping his cheeks and giving him a kiss. I promised I would find him after I was done before running off. The king and queen were both in bed, and the guards have already switched. Personally, any of the servants would be fine if they caught me. In fact almost all of them knew and agreed that helping Eclipse was good.
I used the keys I did snatch from Asahi once he was in bed, and unlocked the doors to the dungeon after telling the guards that I was going down to clean. I wandered down the cold hallway, glancing inside the cells. Most of them were empty, but we had a few people down here. I felt rather bad for the ones who were down here.
Really, I had no reason to be down here ever since Asahi and the other servants who had to work during the day took care of things down here, but there was someone down here who I thought might be able to help me.
"Um.. excuse me-"
"Let me guess, you've come about the prince?" I twiddled with my fingers. Sometimes it made me nervous and uncomfortable when I remember that this guy can literally see the future at his will. The king and queen said he's dangerous and none of us should like, ever have contact with him. But.. he doesn't seem THAT bad from first glance..
"Yes.."
"Are you sure?"
"...Yes?"
"I know you are doing this for that girl. But I can offer you something that will much more greatly affect your life."
"What're you talking about?"
"I can tell you about yourself. I can tell you your own future."
"My own future?"
"Yes, don't you want to know your fate. Especially with your loved one?" He said with a smile. I scratched the back of me head, tapping the keys on my pocket. I mean, sure.. I wanted to know what would happen with me and Tsukki. It'd be nice to know if we were destined to be married or have kids.
But that isn't why I was here. I trusted Tsukki with my life, and I loved him more than anything. I trusted we love each other. But Eclipse and her family's fate is much more at stake.
"No thank you.. I'd just like to know what I came here for."
"Mm. Very well. What is it, specifically, you would like to know."
"If Eclipse Kageyama were to expose the lies that the king and queen have said, what will happen?" I asked, the man closing his eyes for a moment. He slowly opened his eyes before looking at me, his eyes glowing as he spoke.
"There will be a lot of blood shed. The king and queen will release their wrath upon both their people, their servants, and even their own family to keep their crowns."
"..Who... who will die..?"
"I cannot tell you. But many will be left feeling half of their soul is missing." He said simply. I bit my lip, scared about what all this meant.
"Will the king and queen be victorious..?"
"No."
"What.. what about Tsukki..?"
"If you wished to know about your future. You should have asked me a different future."
"...Right."
"I will share one more thing with you. The fate of everyone you do and do not know will change, all depending on if you decide to share this information with Eclipse."
"..So. If I share it with her.. There's going to be a war between the people and the knights.. and... a lot of innocent people will die. What will happen if I don't tell her..???"
"Then there will be only but one body shed of blood. There will be consequences, but the blood spilled will be minimal."
"..I see." I said, twisting at the keys on my belt some more. The man watched me for a bit before smiling.
"You have a very kind heart I can see."
"Huh? Oh... um. Thank you.."
"Please, come closer." He said, extending his arm out between the bars. I was hesitant but walked closer, the man gently touching my arm with curiosity. He tilted his head before smiling.
"Pure heart too. You are a rare persons to find... I will make a deal with you."
"What is it?"
"Give me a lock of your hair. And I will share with you anything." He said. I blinked a few times, but quickly agreed. A little bit of my hair in exchange for the future is worth it. I took some of my hair, taking in a breath before tugging it and pulling it out. I rubbed my head before giving it to the guy who smiled.
"Now. What would you like to know?"
"If I tell Eclipse.. you know, about all of this, who.. who do I know that would, you know..."
"If you tell Eclipse, Tobio Kageyama will return to his rightful place as the new king, with Shoyo Hinata at his side. Eclipse will live with her family and marry, and have a new heir. I could tell you about the others, such as Asahi or perhaps Ennoshita, but they are not the ones you are so curious about."
"..."
"If you tell Eclipse. Your loved one will be gravely injured."
"And.. if I don't..?"
"Then Eclipse and her family will return home. The king and queen will reign for years to come until they have found a new heir in their passing. And you will leave the palace, be married and have children."
"You said if I don't tell Eclipse, that only one will die... Who is it?"
"Why, our young acting prince."
