S H O T O
I quietly made my way through the large house, doing my best to be absolutely silent, or as silent as I could be.
As I peeked through the bedroom door, a smile graced my face as I gazed lovingly at her sleeping figure. One arm was folded under her head, and the other was next to her face, resting on the pillow.
I tiptoed over to her and grabbed the soft line of yarn I brought with me. I also took out the sharpie from my pocket and uncapped the lid, sticking it on the end and holding it in my mouth as I knelt next to her.
I looked at her soft features, relaxed from her happy dreams, and her chest as it rose and fell with each breath.
As carefully and gently as I could, I wrapped the string of yarn around her ring finger, and I pinched the two strands together as I grabbed the sharpie and marked where they met. I moved the string up to her knuckle and made another mark, making sure to get the correct size.
I silently stood back up and made my way out of the door, sighing in relief once I made it out of the room without waking her up.
I walked back outside to my car and hopped in, backing out of the garage and into the driveway. I just drove for a few minutes, before coming to a stop in a half-filled parking lot. I grabbed the ruler I brought from the office out of the armrest storage compartment and set it on the armrest.
I laid the string out straight next to it and measured it to be about 16.5 mm, using the internet and a couple different sizing guides, I measured her to need a size 6 ring.
Perfect, I have her ring size, now I have to buy an actual ring.
I tried to rub the tiredness out of my eyes, and I pulled out a sticky note and the sharpie I had, and quickly jotted down the information so I wouldn't forget. I pulled out of the parking lot and made my way back home, on the way there, I had a slight pang of nervousness.
And I quickly blurted out, "Oliver!" He immediately responded, as usual, "Yes sir?"
"You saw me take her ring size, yes?" "Of course sir, I'm curious, are you planning on giving her a gift?" I chuckled, "Something like that. But it's a surprise! You can't tell her about it, in fact... if she gets curious or starts to ask too many questions, can you try and veer her away from it?"
There was an obvious hesitation in his voice, but he agreed nevertheless. "I'll do my best, sir."
I sighed in relief and pulled into the garage once more, returning home for real this time.

I sat at my desk after just finishing the paperwork from my latest villain encounter this morning, Y/n is out right now, she just received an emergency call. I'm on standby in case anyone needs back up, but while she's out is a perfect opportunity to look at some rings.
Making my decision, I opened a new window on my computer. "Oliver, can you privatize everything on this window, I don't want her to accidentally find out during a security check or something." "It's already done sir." "Thanks Oliver."
I quickly searched for some well-rated jewelry/ring stores in Northern Japan, and I found a promising one that wasn't too far away. And based on the rings they have featured on their website, I think I might be able to find one there that I like.
I took out my phone and made a private memo, copying down the address of the jewelry store and any other information I might need.
I closed the window, and opened up my search history, deleting the evidence before I shut down my computer. It wasn't a moment too soon, because not seconds later, Y/n walked in with a smile on her face.
