Chapter Six: JARVIS

As we landed, Steve walked over to me, clearly wanting me to talk about what I found, but I refused. Clint was rushed off; Natasha and Bruce with him, then Thor walked out with the scepter in hand as Maria walked on.

"Lab's all set up, boss."

"Actually, he's the boss. I just pay for everything, design everything, and make everyone look cooler."

I chuckled, Steve rolled his eyes as he, Maria, and I walked out and into the tower.

"What's the word on Strucker?"

"NATO's got him."

"The two Enhanced?"

"Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, twins. Orphaned at 10 when a shell collapsed their building. Sokovia's had a rough history. It's nowhere special, but it's on the way to everywhere special."

"Their abilities?"

As Maria stated, the fancy way of saying their powers, Steve and I stared at her as if she was speaking another language. She sighed.

"He's fast and she's weird."

We nodded to Maria as we looked at each other. I shrugged and we looked back at Maria.

"Well, they're going to show up again."

"Agreed. File says they volunteered for Strucker's experiments. It's nuts."

Steve and I stepped into the elevator as the doors opened; Steve clicked the destination.

"Right. What kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them to protect their country?"

I rolled my eyes and nudged him in the side softly.

"We're not at war, Captain."

"They are."

As the doors close, I look over at Steve. "Stop giving her a hard time."

"Oh, I'm not."

"Steve, you know you are. Stop it."

"Which one of them did you encounter? I'm guessing Pietro?"

"Correct, a thousand points to Steve Rogers."

We chuckled softly. He knew he wasn't going to get anything more out of me. Once the elevator doors opened, we headed off in our own directions. I headed to my room and he headed... wherever he went. I pulled out my dagger, looking at the blade and twirling it in my hand. Semi-proud of how I was able to get the Enhanced when no one else could. Then, I started thinking about his sister. Now she has quite amusing powers. I wonder if I'll ever face her. I put my dagger down as I entered my room, changing into more comfortable clothes, jumping on the bed, and calling JARVIS to attention.

"Hey, J."

"Hello, (Y/N)."

"Anything new with you, bud?"

"We've discussed this. There can't be anything new with me. I lost track of you on the mission. How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright. I had a few dizzy spells throughout, but hey, I made it."

"And you had an encounter, did you not?"

"I did. Who told you?"

"No one. Shall I scan you?"

"Sure, go for it."

I grabbed a water bottle and downed the damn thing. I want to know the cause of this extreme dehydration. I still want to know if it might be something else as well."

"Nothing new; still dehydrated."

"Can you find the source of said dehydration?"

"Unfortunately, there isn't exactly anything I can trace it to. Mr. Stark calls."

"Alright, talk to you later, J."

I lay back on my bed, wondering why the things that are happening are. Then, a knock at my door.

"Come in."

And in walked Thor.

"Hey, bud. How ya feeling?"

"I'm quite alright and yourself?"

"Dizzy and apparently dehydrated."

He rolled his eyes and shut the door as he walked in, sitting in the chair by my desk.

"So, are you still going to hide the fact you encountered the Enhanced from me?"

"I didn't find either of them. You can't really prove I found them, can you?"

"I suppose not, but I want to know why you're so determined in hiding it from me."

"I'm not hiding anything. I found a family of rabbits and that's it."

"Were they cute rabbits?"

"Absolutely adorable."

We chuckled and continued with some small talk for a bit before he walked out. I grabbed another water and downed it, now needing the bathroom. I went and did my business, returning to my bed and resting until I was needed again.
