Chapter 16

Mia's Pov
"Ashton, you guys were amazing." I praised him. It was true though. They were really good. In a couple years time, they could be selling hits worldwide.
"Really?" He asked, sounding like he didn't think I meant it.
"Yes, you were. Don't ever doubt that."
"Awe thanks." He thanked, pulling me into a hug. I literally could stay like this for years. He pulled me out of my thoughts when he started talking.

"Do you want to go out to the car, I left my phone in the other room."
"Yeah, sure" He gave me his keys and then left the room to get his phone.

Just as I was about to turn to Ashton's car, I heard voices. I thought everyone had already left? Apparently Michael and Calum hadn't.

"It's about Mia." I heard. Why are they talking about me? I got a bit closer so I could hear but I made sure I wasn't noticeable.
"Mia." Michael said in a disgusted tone. What did I ever do to him to make him hate me so much. Nothing! So I don't get why he doesn't like me.

"You need to stop." Calum shouted.
"Stop what?" As if Michael doesn't know.
"You know what I mean. You need to stop bullying her." Calum replied, irritated that Michael tried to play innocent.
"And why exactly do I need to do that." Michael retorted.
"What has she ever done to you?"
"She...she..."
"Michael, just admit the fact that she has never done anything to you." Calum started to raise his voice.
"Fine, she hasn't. But why are you only saying this to me. Luke bullies her too."
Wow. He has to compare himself to Luke, doesn't he?
"Luke has a fucking reason, unlike you." Okay, that took me by suprise.
"Yeah, and whats that?" Michael asked, raising his eyebrow. I was wondering the exact same thing.

"Michael, if he wants to tell you he can. But trust me, Its a fucking good reason. So promise you'll stop bullying Mia?" Someone needs to tell me what this 'fucking good reason' is.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever." Michael said, while rolling his eyes.
"Michael, i'm being fucking serious. You don't know what Luke's going through and why he does this to Mia. The only reason you do this is to copy Luke. You need to stop. It hurts Mia. She hasnt done anything wrong, and yet you do this. Just please." Calum's voice started to shake towards the end and suddenly, he was crying.

Calum was crying! Why the hell was he crying. Whatever Luke has going on, its obviously taking its toll on Calum as well. But what the hell is it. Its supposed to be the reason why Luke bullies me. I didn't even think Luke had a reason let alone a reason that could make a person cry.

"Calum why are you crying. If you want me to stop bullying her that bad than I will, okay." Michael said. He looked sincere. Maybe he would stop bullying me. Who knows. But at the moment, I couldn't care less. I just need to be a good friend to Calum, and see if he is okay. Just as I was about to walk to Calum, Ashton called my name. I turned around and he was jogging towards me, phone in hand.

"Mia, why are you standing outside in the cold. I gave you my keys, you could've gone in the car."
"I just wanted to go talk to Calum. Come on, lets go." I took his hand to lead him to Calum and Michael, who were still talking, but Ashton didn't budge.

"Errr, Ashton? You coming, or are you just going to stand there?"
"Mia, you can talk to Calum at school. Just not right now"
"Ashton, he was crying before, I need to go talk to him. He is your friend. Why don't you want to go talk to him." I asked, confused.
"Mia, Michael's over there. I don't want to talk to him or Luke at the moment. And plus, if we go over there, he'll probably start talking crap about you. Wait, why was Calum crying. He hardly ever cries"
"I don't know, thats why I want to go over there. But Ashton, I couldn't give a fuck if Michael is there, I just want to go comfort my friend when he is upset. I know you are annoyed with Michael but you'll have to get over it sooner or later.
"I'd prefer later."
"Okay Ashton, if you don't want to go, don't. I'm still going though."
