Vanessa's POV:

Spencer hung up and looked to me, wiggling his nose.

"I gotta go."

"I know." I soothed.

"I'm so sorry, Nessa."

"It's okay." I touch him gently. "Really, gol

"I promise it won't be long."

"I know baby, go." I push him playfully until he was upright. He walked to the door but stopped after opening it. Looking back at me. "Pitter Patter!" I call, making him huff, and close the door behind him. I did what I always do when I have nothing on my plate, I cleaned. Started in the kitchen and worked my way all the way back to Spencer's bedroom. After an hour and a half I sat on the couch by the fire and opened my copy of Phenomenology of Spirit, when my phone buzzed with a text message.

Spencer: Meet me in Jessup Park by the gazebo in an hour.

Jessup Park was about a twenty minute drive, which gave me enough time to get a coffee. But why did he want to meet there? I shrugged it off, grabbing my coat off the rack, and going to make my first stop.

•••

I pulled up to the park and start my walk to the gazebo. Moving my pea coat more to defend myself against the chill. I heard music playing from a distance, and the more I walked, the louder it got. I turned the corner and caught a glimpse of fluttering lights through a hedge. Once I made my way around, the gazebo came into focus. Rose petals were left scattered across the steps, wrapped in white lights that literally sparkled against the December night sky. But there was nothing brighter there than Spencer. He turned to see me, dressed in a full black suit and white dress shirt

"Hi Vanessa." I couldn't move, completely swept up in the extravagance of it all as the confusion set in. Spencer made his way down the stairs to kiss my cheek, taking my hand. I huff out a neurotic laugh.

"What's going on?" I ask, being pulled under the gazebo. Spence turned and clicked a button on the CD player behind him. Snow Patrol's 'Open Your Eyes' began to play. "This is-"

"You're favorite song." I smile, feeling silly for even saying it. "May I have this dance?" He asked, extending his hand. I of course complied, taking his hand and stepping into him. Resting my arm over his shoulder and swaying. I was lost in him. He was pure exquisite, light brown eyes danced in the surrounding lights. We moved in total synchronicity. I could swear my feet weren't touching the ground. "There's so much I wanna tell you." His voice strummed my heart strings. "So much I want to do with you, so much I want to show you." He stole my breath with every word. "I never thought I'd meet anyone who pours as much sugar into their coffee as I do, someone who knows 18th century poetry, better than me. Who finishes my sentences, who reads my mind, someone who's changed my way of thinking, for the better." Spencer's hand slid down my back towards my waist as he spoke, I could feel my heart pick up ten speeds. "You taught me to look at things with a multi-versatile mindset. Introduced me to key lime pie, got me into more 80's music than I've ever heard in my life. Taught me about all the different kinds of maple syrup," I opened my mouth to ask, but he answered. "Extra light, light, medium, amber, and dark." I let out an effortless laugh, feeling my throat swell as he continued. "You walked into my life and challenged everything I thought I knew. You're the girl I use to dream about finding one day." His eyes ran over me. "This," he shook my hand in his. Squeezing, his arm tight around my waist. "This is more than I ever imagined it would ever be." He looked down "You're what I cherish most in my life." I felt a tear slip from my eye. "And every moment I spend with you, I find another reason to fall in love." I took a shaky inhale, trying not to lose my cool. "You're about to come face to face something no one should ever have to." My eyes met his. "Meeting with Lukas could tear down all the walls, the efforts, the steps, you've put into healing. And I want to be there, next to you, when you do."  I stopped our swaying as Spencer's hands left me, taking a step back. He got down on one knee and cleared his throat, pulling out a little black box, and popped it open. A thin silver band topped with a small white diamond sat in the velvet crook of the box. Silver roots crawled up the cuff surrounding the tear shape gem with an enchanting aura. I could barely see through the tears rimming my eyes, which soon flash flooded down my face.

"Vanessa Faith," He took my hand, licking his lips anxiously, folding them in. "Will you marry me?" The words caught in my throat, just able to emit sniffling noises and a little squeal before I finally responded.

"Yes," I said it louder. "Yes." He shot up, wrapping me in his arms, spinning me from the force of his embrace. I exploded, sending my lips to his. My hands held his face as my feet hit the ground. We stood, tangled in each other, kissing under triumphant lights. "Yes, yes, yes." I say between each lengthy kiss, as he slipped the ring out of the box and onto my finger. I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I love you." I cried, catching my breath.

"I love you." He exhaled, his lips to mine furiously. The tears spilled as we kissed, my hand in his hair while his hand gripped the back of my dress in a fist. He was shaking, I could feel the vibration from his chest against mine as he shifted his weight and dipped me, furthering our intimate embrace.

Inseparable. Forever, inseparable.
