blind faith

there is, in life, the recurring conundrum
of loving someone you haven't seen in months.

"oh," you say, "oh, if only they were here.
then everything would be better and it would all be okay
and it would be just like it used to."

that, my friend, is a fucking lie.

they're GONE and that's the truth.
things have happened to them in that time.
they've made NEW friends and met NEW people
and maybe BRANCHED OUT a bit or even
had an EPIPHANY about life itself.

WHATEVER. they've CHANGED
because PEOPLE change when you're not there
and they are PEOPLE, not GODS.
they are not PERFECT
and they shall not STAY PERFECT
because they are PEOPLE, not GODS.

what you want back ISN'T the PERSON.
what you want back are the MEMORIES,
the DREAMS and the FANTASIES you think of.
what you have to ACCEPT is that
THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE.

let go of your BLIND FAITH
and your FALSE FRIENDS
and STOP CLINGING TO YOUR MEMORIES.
