xxxv. detention and confrontation

Harry, Ron and Hermione were going to the Burrow for Christmas and then going to Grimmauld Place for New Years. Draco, Pansy and Blaise were also to their houses for the break. When they were headed to Hogsmeade next and Katie Bell got cursed (im not writing this in detail at all) Harry knew who it was and kept his mouth shut. The next day, he pulled Draco away and into a closet and said "what the hell?!" Draco sighed and said "I know," Harry saw that Draco was under pressure and so, he went to the Room of Requirement with him under the Cloak. They reached there and Harry wished for a bed, since it was already past curfew. Harry pulled Draco into a hug, wished for a book and paper and said "let's just be rational about this write down what and how everything went, okay?" They sat on the bed and Harry took the pen and wrote down everything in silence and he decided he would just ask his questions later:

Started okay. The necklace was fine. Gave it to Katie Bell under Imperius. She touched it, unfortunately. She got taken to Mungo's. No Gryffindor Chaser.

Harry looked through the list and started talking, "listen Dray,you're under a lot of stress right now, I understand that, but you need to bemore careful," he pulled Draco close and said "let's just go throughthis and we'll see what and where we went wrong, cool?" he felt Draco'snod on his chest and started "started okay, great," he heard achortle from Draco when he said "so far so good," he continued andsaid "necklace was fine, still okay till now," he didn'twant to read it, but know he had to, "put Katie under the Imperius,"he felt Draco cringe and heard him have a meltdown, "I'm sorry, Harry, Ididn't mean it, please don't leave me for being like this," Harry kissedthe top of his head and said "it's okay, hun. I know you absolutely had todo it, okay, and I'll never leave you. I want our dream to come true,"Draco looked up and saw genuineness in Harry's eyes and nodded and snuggledback into his chest, "she touched it," Harry said in barely awhisper. Draco nodded and fresh tears came down his face. Harry lifted Draco'sface and planted a kiss on his lips, wiped off his tears and said "it'snot your fault, she touched it by mistake, don't blame yourself," Harrywas feeling bad for Draco but even worse for Katie, who could die any moment.He continued reading the list and said "she got taken to Mungo's," hesighed and said "one okay thing after she touched it," Draco chuckledand said "yeah," Harry knew there was nothing more under this topicand said "we're done," since he added the Chaser part for himself.They contemplated everything and came to the conclusion that Draco should justwork on the Cabinet right now. The original decision in Harry's mind was to takean overall break but he knew that Draco wouldn't say yes to that. 

Harry and Draco snuggled under the covers while Harry occasionally planted kisses on Draco, anywhere he could reach and then they spoke about how Hagrid's pissed at Harry for not taking his class and how they hate Snape's DADA and want Remus to come back desperately. Harry and Draco spent the night in the Room of Requirement and slept and made out and figured out how much they are willing to sacrifice themselves for eachother. Before going to sleep Harry said, "the best thing about your task is that you've achieved the 'seduce Potter' part," Draco chuckled and said "goodnight love," and even Kreacher's mum knew what happened there.

 The next morning, Harry messed up in DADA and got detention on every Saturday. The only flaw? he had a Quidditch match on Saturday. Ginny became their new Seeker and they made Demelza Robins, Dean and kept Katie as their Chaser. Harry went for his detention on the day of the match. When he reached there, Snape had his usual sneer and he said "today, you'll be sorting out files, starting with this," he started. Harry looked at the file and read:

Name(s): Sirius Black, James Potter.

Charges: disprupting the Great Hall with a 'Shakespearean' remake of Macbeth, ending in the Great Hall being covered in fake blood after the dramatic stabbing.

Harry couldn't control his laughter. He broke and laughed for 3minutes straight. He calmed down and looked at Snape who had a deeper scowl and said "still glorifying your father, eh Potter?" Harry's mood completely deteriorated and he said "rather him than you," Snape's scowl deepened if that was possible and he said "watch your tongue, Potter," Harry had a newfound courage and he said "or what? You going to write to Dadfoot and Dad again?" Snape lost his mind and said "why would I write about a sorry excuse like you?" Harry let out a sarcastic laugh and said "I'm the sorry excuse here?! You hate my fathers because they bullied you, which leads to the fact that we hate you, you bully Neville for no fucking reason and get this, his past isn't all chipper, his parents were tortured into insanity and he gets nightmares about Bellatrix torturing them and his Boggart is you, yet he's never missed a class and you still bully him, you've been biased against Gryffindors and are prejudiced against Hermione even though you know she's smarter than you. And might I remind you Professor, you've already written about a 'sorry excuse like me' now you tell me, who's the real sorry excuse?" Harry felt much better now he closed the files he was meant to write and stormed out of Snape's class, towards the Quidditch Pitch to watch what was left of the game, leaving Snape standing there, thinking about what just happened.

 The next morning, he was called to McGonagall's office. He knew what it was for and he said "what's up, 'fessor?" she scowled and then smiled at the new name he gave her and then said "I think you know," Harry smirked and said "if I knew I wouldn't have asked," even though he knew, "touché" she took a deep breath and started "apparently, you called Snape a sorry excuse for a human?" Harry nodded and said "I sure did, hun," she noted that he was getting more James-ish around her and said "I'd like you to elaborate," so he dove into the story of Snape insulting James and at the end of it, he noted that she had a scowl and thought he'd get even more detention. He was utterly surprised when he heard a "you'll have no more detention," Harry's jaw dropped and said "what?" she looked at him and said "no one messes with James Potter, he was like a son to me, Harry," Harry nodded and his jaw dropped even more when she said "good job on standing up to Snape for Neville, Harry, you know he's had it tough," Harry nodded in understanding and said "anything else you needed, 'fessor?" she shook her head and said "no, and don't call me 'fessor," Harry smirked and said "at least it's better than Minnie," she had to admit it was true and dismissed Harry.

Harry told Ron and Hermione everything and they were shook in two different ways. Ron was proud of Harry for telling off Snape while Hermione was almost mad at him. Keyword being almost because she was also proud of him. When the Slytherins came to know they pulled Harry in a closet in the middle of broad daylight and said "we heard what happened?! How did you get out Scot-free?" Harry explained everything until the moment that McGonagall let him off the hook. They were shook and silent until Pansy said "does she hate Snape or what?" Harry smiled and said "nah, she just adores my father, I mean who wouldn't? he made me didn't he?" They gave him the 'don't be a bitch look' and Draco said "you called her 'hun'? And she didn't kill you?! How?" Harry smirked and said "well, it's better than calling her Minnie innit?" They knew he was right so they set him free and went to their daily classes.

Draco and Harry were closing in on two years the next month and all those who knew were secretly losing their minds. Two years with not one fight and being the cutest couple they've seen is a huge achievement. They were waiting for it to come and at the same time, trying to avoid everyone who had a crush on Harry, Ron and the others. October passed as soon as it came and before we knew it, November 2nd had arrived.

a/n: the next chapter might be crazy. lmao. it's my mama's birthday tomorrow and she wants a card but my art suckssssssssssssssssssssssss. pleh. if y'all got that reference ily.
