Daphne, Blaise, Astoria, Theo, Jack and I all made our way to DADA. "I heard we're working with Boggarts." Astoria said as we walked up a staircase. "What'd you reckon yours will be, Astoria?" Theo asked as they walked hand in hand. Affection; gross.

"I dunno. Probably a Centaur." she said shortly. I turned to look at her. "A Centaur? You're scared of those?" I asked curiously. She rolled her eyes and huffed. "It's half man half horse. It's not my fault you aren't scared of anything." she said angrily. I laughed quietly and shook my head. "Alright, Astoria." I said smoothly.

We entered the classroom and all stood with each other next to a wall. I stood between Jack and Daphne, Blaise was on Daphne's other side, Astoria was on the other side of Jack, with Theo at her other side.

I heard Jack scoff so I looked at him with a blank face. He was looking at something behind us, so I followed his line of vision, and my eyes fell on Malfoy. "Does he always have to be so sodding close to us?" he growled quietly. I laughed and tugged on the end of the sleeve of his robes, causing him to look at me.

"Hm?" he hummed. I shook my head and gestured to the front of the class. "Just ignore him." I said quietly. Jack sighed and reluctantly looked up to the front of the classroom, where professor Lupin was standing.

He began to explain that we would be discussing Boggarts and asked the class what a Boggart was. I raised my hand about half a second after Granger. "Ah, Ms. Morningstar. Can you tell us what a Boggart is?" he asked. I heard Granger scoff from the front of the class.

"It's a shapeshifter that usually lurks in dark places, Sir. It has no definite form, that's what makes it so terrifying. It takes shape of whatever is feared most by the person whom encounters it." I explain. Lupin nods in approval. "Excellent, Ms. Morningstar." he says with a small smile.

"Ugh. She should've been put in Ravenclaw." I heard Parkinson say from behind me. I turned around slightly, just barely facing her. "Is that supposed to be an insult or something? Because you just called me smart, dumbarse." I whispered. She rolled her eyes before turning her attention back to Professor Lupin.

"Good job." Jack whispered. I looked at him and sent him a small smile.

After discussing a Boggart for a few more minutes, Lupin had us practice the charm that would turn it into something funny.

"Riddikulus!" he exclaimed.

"Riddikulus!" a few students copied.

"This class is ridiculous." Malfoy mumbled. I smacked my hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Malfoy may be a git, but some of his putrid jokes were actually comical.

We practiced that a few more times before Lupin told us to line up, Jack stood behind me, Potter behind him, and a few other people in front of me.

Longbottom's was Snape. Expected.

One Gryffindors was a Snake. Pathetic.

After a minute or two it was my turn. When I encountered the Boggart, it turned into me. However, I wasn't myself. I was smiling and laughing; I was happy. My biggest fear was being happy.

I thought of a baby otter swimming around and waved my wand "Riddikulus!" I exclaimed. The happy, laughing version of myself turned into a small otter, swimming around in a lake. I walked over to the wall and sat down, thinking about my Boggart. I look up to see Malfoy's gaze burning into me, then turn my attention to Jack, who's now walking over to me.

She takes a seat beside me and sits there for a few seconds. "You're scared of being happy." he states. I sigh. "Yup."
