Two months had passed and there was only two weeks left of summer break. The past two months had been extremely uneventful.
My parents would leave for days at a time, leaving me with the house elves. I had therapy every Saturday. I owled my friends and told them that I didn't have to go to therapy anymore, which was a lie. I don't know why I lied, I just felt like some things in my life should stay private. I worked out every day to distract myself from the anger; I ran a mile a day.
I was laying down and glanced over at the clock to see that it was almost dinner time. I decided to do what I've done the past few days since I've been home alone; grab my food and come back upstairs. There was no point in sitting alone in the dining room.
I pulled off my athletic shorts and large quidditch alumni sweater and looked for a different outfit. As I walked by the mirror, I came to a halt. I back tracked and stood in front of the mirror.
I guess the working out and running had payed off, along with my new diet my mother forced me on. I was now taller, about 5'4. My hair was longer, it reached my lower back. I still had A cups, but I was secretly thankful for that. My waist was thinner and my hips had grown wider. I actually had an hourglass figure. Wow.
I shook my head to stop distracting myself and pulled on a green fitted tube top with black sweatpants. I pulled a black jacket on and zipped it halfway up before putting on a new pair of black socks and walking downstairs.

As I grew closer to the dining hall, I heard voices coming from inside. There were multiple voices, not just two. I was surprised to know that my parents were home, but I was more curious as to who was here with them.
I walked into the dining room and five pairs of eyes landed on me. My father, my mother, Lucius, Narcissa and Malfoy all sat around the table, looking at me.
"Oh, Cynthia! There you are! I was just about to have a house elf go fetch you. How did you know we were here?" My mother asked before taking a sip of her wine.
I stood there dumbfounded for a moment before snapping back to reality. "I didn't. I was coming down to grab a snack and then go back to my bedroom." I explained.
"Oh nonsense," my mother chuckled, "please, won't you join us?" she asked. I sighed quietly and walked over to my usual seat. Unfortunately, Malfoy was sat across from me. I hadn't actually looked at him yet, but I knew it was him. He, however, hasn't stopped staring at me since I walked through those bloody double doors.
"Oh, Cynthia. Now that you're here, I have something to tell you." she said gleefully. I looked up from my lap and turned my attention to my mother, signaling for her to go on. "We will be going to the Quidditch World Cup this year with the Malfoy's. Isn't that great?" she announced happily.
I nodded my head and gave her a small smile. "Wonderful." I said, hoping she couldn't sound the sarcasm laced within my voice.
My mother cleared her throat, causing me to look up at her once again. She jerked her head subtly to Malfoy. I shook my head no slightly with pleading eyes. She jerked her head again and shot me a cold glare.
I sighed and cleared my throat. "How was your summer, Malfoy?" I asked in a bored tone, as if it was some poorly rehearsed line, still looking at my mother.
When I heard him clear his throat to speak, I finally look over at him. He's in an all black suit. Black blazer, black undershirt, black pants and black shoes. (I'm assuming, seeing as everything else is black) His hair was parted slightly to the left and it was now hanging over the front of his face slightly.
He got... attractive. That's what I'm saying. I hated this bloody idiot with every fiber of my being. If he threw himself off of the Astronomy Tower I wouldn't give even 1/4 of a fuck. However, he did get attractive over the summer. Too bad he's an arrogant prick. That ruins his looks.
"It was fine, and yours?" he replied, pulling me out of my thoughts. His voice also got deeper, a lot deeper. "Fine." I said shortly.
"What have you been doing while your father and I have been gone?" my mother blurted. I turned my attention back to her. "Painting, writing, reading, running, working out, sleeping, eating-" I started listing, but my mother cut me off. "Dieting?" she asked hopefully.
"Yes, mother. I have followed my diet." I assured her. She gave me a smile and a nod. "Are you excited for your fourth year?" Narcissa chimed, bringing my attention to her.
"Yes, ma'am." I said with a nod. She chuckled lightly and swatted the air. "Please, call me Cissy." she suggested. I nodded my head.
"I'm quite excited myself. New year. New friends. New secrets." Malfoy said, staring directly at me from behind his glass that was brought to his lips. I gave him a cold glare. "Right." I mumbled, clenching my jaw.

After we finished dinner, the adults went to mother's study, no doubt on Death Eater business. Cissy told Malfoy to stay by my side and to not wander off. Which is why we are now in a dark corridor, arguing.
"What the hell are you doing here you bloody fool?" I exclaimed, shoving my finger in his face.
"Well, right now I'm arguing with a daft git." he joked. I brought my hand up and slapped the side of his head. "Ow! What was that for?" he asked as he rubbed his head.
"For not answering my damn question!" I hissed.
He exhaled loudly and groaned. "My family wanted to have dinner with your family and they insisted that I come. They said you haven't had a single friend over all summer, quite sad honestly." he explained.
I slapped him upside the head again. "First of all, I would rather cut out my own tongue and eat it than be associated with you! Second of all, I haven't had any friends over for private reasons, so get over it! Also, it's technically fourth year. So what the bloody hell am I supposed to be learning? Because you said," I ranted before changing my voice to sound like the albino troll in front of me, "'oh just wait until fourth year'" I changed my voice back, "well it's fourth year!" I concluded. My chest was heaving and my face was red from how royally pissed off I was.
Malfoy took a step towards me, I took a step back. He stepped again, I stepped again. "How about you shut the fuck up for two sodding seconds and let me fucking explain." he growled lowly.
I sighed and gestured for him to explain.
"I never said when you would figure what out, I just said it would be in our fourth year. Dumbledore will probably speak to you after the welcome feast, I've got no idea. I don't even know exactly what it is. He just said that something was somewhere and it involved you, so I was just happy that I knew something that you didn't." he explained.
"Oh you are so fucking stupid, Malfoy." I hissed at him. He smirked and leaned forward towards me.
"Am I?" he whispered. I felt my breathing quicken again and something shoot up my spine. I gulped before pushing him away from me and storming off towards my room.
As I was passing the foyer, Cissy called my name, making me stop and look at her. "Where's Draco?" she asked, looking around me. "Right here, mother." Malfoy said as he stepped out from behind me, brushing his shoulder against mine. I hissed in a breath and held it until they were gone.
Before stepping into the fireplace, Malfoy winked at me and grinned, and then stepped in and vanished. I huffed and made my way back up to my bedroom for the night.
