preparing for battle

The past couple of weeks had been immensely stressful. Voldemort was still irritated and angry, killing anyone or anything that crossed his path. He murdered 6 goblins in one visit to the Morningstar Manor, and Draco, mum and I were forced to watch.

Although, Draco and I had discussed how we noticed he was becoming... weaker, in a sense. His face became thinner, paler, and he seemed and looked tired all the time. Draco and I had figured that if Voldemort won the war, the Wizarding World we've grew up in would cease to exist, so it relieved us that he was becoming weaker.

We had the lot come over one day, and we told them that everything went smoothly with Potter. We told them that if a war did happen to occur, we would fight with the order. We all relished in relief, but then we sat in silence when we realized we would have to fight our parents.

My mother knew, though. I knew she did. I had went downstairs late at night for a glass of water while Draco was upstairs, and she told me she knew. She cried to me and held me, told me to be safe. She said that Cissy also knew that Draco would be helping The Order too, and that they would both make sure we didn't get attacked by any Death Eaters. Apparently, Cissy gave Potter's wand to Draco, and told him to give it to Potter so he could get his wand back.

I made a promise to myself that I would do anything to protect my mother; absolutely anything. She was all I had left, besides Draco. My mother had years of her life taken away by the hands of my father and his Imperius Curse. I would make sure that she made it out of this war.

I also promised myself that I would protect Draco with everything I could. I would make sure he made it out alive, because he deserves to live a long, happy life. Between him and my mother, I would do anything to protect them, or I would die trying.

People could possibly try and threaten to take my life all they wanted. They could threaten to kill me repeatedly, but it would just be a waste of time, energy and their breath. Jokes on them, because I'm not scared of death.

My biggest fear was being happy, and I intended to accomplish that after the war with Draco. If I could do that, I could do anything.

A burning sensation in my arm made me jolt awake, and I looked over to see Draco staring down at his Dark Mark. He jerked his head up towards me abruptly and stared me in the eyes, worry plastered all over his face. "He's calling us." he mumbled.

Without hesitation, we both got out of bed and got dressed. I checked the clock to see it was 3:18 a.m. I threw on a pair of black jeans and a black, cotton, skin-tight turtle neck with a ash grey sweater vest over it. I tugged on a pair of black, leather, knee high boots and grabbed my wand, tucking it in my left boot before pulling on a black leather jacket.

Draco and I had showered together before bed, so I just had to run my fingers through my hair to fix it. I turned to see Draco standing in all black as well; black dress pants, black undershirt and a grey sweater vest. He tucked his mother's wand into his pocket, from being disarmed by Potter, and tucked Potter's wand into his other pocket, before locking his pinky with mine.

We sprinted down multiple corridors and two flights of stairs before reaching the foyer, where my mum, Cissy, Lucius, Bella, Rodolphus, Greyback, Yaxley and Dolohov were all standing. Draco unlocked our pinkies and intertwined our hands together when he saw Rodolphus.

We walked over to my mum and Cissy, who were standing away from everyone else. "What's going on?" Draco questioned, glancing between my mum and his. Before she got the chance to answer, the floo system went off and numerous people started stepping through. Blaise and his mum, the Greengrasses and the Notts all stood in our foyer.
