Mark waited a few minutes before ripping the covers off his sleeping roommate, and Donghyuck groaned loudly, his eyes not opening as he scrambled to find the covers he was now missing. "Hi sunshine," Mark chirped, and was met with a long string of profanities. "That's not nice."
"It's also not nice to rip off my covers after staying out late for three nights in a row because fucking hell I've been freezing my toes off and I need my cuddle buddy -"
"Sorry," Mark murmured, kneeling down to brush Donghyuck's hair out of his eyes. "It's finalising stuff for my exchange year, you know that. It's hard."
"Yeah, well mine was done last week."
"I had extra steps because of the fact I'm not a Korean citizen," Mark sighed. The both of them would be going abroad - Hyuck for a semester, coming back right before his junior year started. and Mark for a year, coming back for his last semester of his senior year. Mark was going to Germany, having switched his major to sports science, and having the opportunity to work for Bayern München. Hyuck was going to Hong Kong to further his studies of economics and statistics with one of the biggest conglomerates in the world, and might even extend his stay if all went well.
They had maybe a month left before they left, and that meant Mark wanted to go out with Hyuck almost every day. That hadn't been possible today, but Mark was determined to make it happen.
"Please, I promise you'll love what I have planned."
"It's midnight, what could we possibly do?" Hyuck groaned, finally opening his eyes and seeing Mark kneeling next to his bed.
"Let's go." Mark said, and Hyuck raised his eyebrows.
"I'm not dressed baby, I don't know if you want me walking out without pants on." Mark flushed as Hyuck ruffled his hair, smirking. "Of course, I could be -"
"Put on clothes," Mark said, and Donghyuck sighed dramatically, Mark going over to their shared dresser and throwing a pair of jeans onto Donghyuck's bed along with one of his sweatshirts.
Hyuck put them on, slipping on socks and latching onto Mark as Mark went out and locked the door to their dorm, Hyuck shuffling cutely behind him with his shoes half on. "Oh it's cold," Hyuck managed, his teeth chattering a little, and Mark laughed, handing him his jacket and earmuffs.
"Here. I'll fix your shoes too." Mark knelt down and fixed Hyuck's shoes as Hyuck put on his jacket and earmuffs, finally awake enough to process what was happening. When Mark stood up, Donghyuck leaned into his shoulder and Mark could feel him smile.
"What're we doing?"
"I was thinking karaoke and then watching the sunrise."
"That twenty four hour karaoke place?" Donghyuck asked, and Mark nodded.
"I got us a room, so we can go and mess around for a bit. We haven't been able to take time to ourselves so you know, something fun and small."
"That sounds nice," Hyuck hummed, lacing his fingers with Mark's and bringing them up to his lips to press a quick kiss to Mark's hand. "Was there something wrong with your documents?"
"I had to make sure I had all of them, and it turned out I was missing a visa and documentation for the visa. So I had to speed it."
"Damn. Sucks to be a Canadian, doesn't it?"
"Johnny suggested I just marry you and get the documentation I needed," Mark said with a smile on his face, but his cheeks flushed just thinking about marriage.
"I'd rather not have a rushed ceremony when it happens, thank you." Mark choked on his breath at that, and Hyuck side eyed him under the streetlights. "You always get flustered when I mention anything about marriage but you cried when I asked you if you wanted kids."
