Probably the worst part of Mark getting distracted wasn't the fact that during a soccer game someone kicked the ball directly into his face, or that he now had a black eye, mild concussion, and split lip. No, it was the fact that Mark's mom was out of town, and Donghyuck had decided to come over and take care of him.

"You need to stay awake!" Donghyuck chirped, and Mark let out a groan as Donghyuck came into his room. "Want anything?"Donghyuck proclaimed, and Mark made an incomprehensible noise. "You never sleep!"

"Well now that I can't I want to!" Mark retorted as Donghyuck came over to sit with him. Mark was just sitting on his bed, a pout on his face.

"We can play a game?"

"The doctor said no games."

"What about just a verbal game?" The lights were off in Mark's room, so all Mark could really rely for his friend's movements was Donghyuck shifting slightly and moving him so that his head was resting on Donghyuck's shoulder.

"Like what?"

"Kiss Marry Kill? Not fuck marry kill, because you always say you feel weird afterwards."

Mark could see a million ways this could go wrong - but he was sleepy, and knew he needed to stay awake for another six hours just to stay up for the forty eight hours the doctor had told him. Maybe messing with his blood pressure was the way to do it. "Sure."

"Alright! I'll go first!" Donghyuck enthused. "Hwang Hyunjin, Kim Yerim, and Chou Tzuyu."

Mark thought for a second, a frown on his face. Kissing Hyunjin sounded great, but that meant he'd have to kill one of the girls.

That would also mean Donghyuck would know Mark was questioning his sexuality - a conversation Mark wasn't entirely ready for, because in his loopy-ish state, Mark just might say it was because of Donghyuck.

But it was better to let Hyuck know now right? It was better for him to know and to help Mark, because Mark could remember in seventh grade when Donghyuck had burst into tears pouring over his bible (Donghyuck was, despite joking about being a heathen, a devout Christian) saying that he didn't know what to do about his crush on another boy in his grade named Daehwi. Mark had sat with him as he cried, holding him tightly and remembering all the bible verses and trying to conjure one which might help.

"Hey," Mark had said, and Donghyuck had looked at him through tears. "Psalm 46:1-3. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

"But what if -"

"You're loved no matter what Donghyuck. I don't care if you love girls or boys, you'll always be my best friend!" Mark had proclaimed. "God loves everything under the sun. He won't forsake you because you like a boy. And Daehwi's super pretty anyways. No one can blame you."

"Earth to Mark." Donghyuck's voice ripped through Mark's thoughts, and Mark looked up at him, the darkness shrouding him. "Who are you going to kill?"

"Tzuyu -" Mark blurted before he could stop himself and felt Donghyuck stiffen in shock. "And I'd kiss Hyunjin and marry Yerim. I just don't know Tzuyu well and Hyunjin looks really kissable."

"You know that's Hwang Hyunjin not Kim Hyunjin."

"Yeah," Mark managed, and was soothed immediately by Donghyuck's fingers toying with his hair.

"Did something change? Usually you'd kill off the boys I give you. Not in a weird way."

"Just questioning," Mark managed, and felt Donghyuck's breath hitch a little as Mark shifted so that he was nuzzled in the crook of Donghyuck's neck. This wasn't the first time they'd ever sat like this, but this time Mark was hyper aware of his racing heartbeat. "I think I'm like you."

"Bisexual?" Donghyuck asked, and Mark nodded. "Cool. When did you start questioning?"

"A bit ago. Just wanted to sort it out."

"Understandable. Don't feel too much pressure to put a label on yourself okay?" Mark nodded, which hurt his head and made Donghyuck laugh at his pain.

"Fuck you too," Mark muttered, no actual anger in his voice, and Donghyuck just laughed harder.

"Your turn," Donghyuck finally managed, and Mark thought.

"Renjun, Jaemin, Jeno."

"You know if I laid a hand on Jeno or Jaemin they'd murder me. And Renjun would castrate me for no real reason."

"That's why I'm asking while they're not here," Mark laughed. "So?"

"Marry Jaemin, kiss Jeno, kill Renjun."

"Wow," Mark laughed. "I'm sure Renjun would be thrilled to hear it."

"You won't tell him," Donghyuck threatened, and Mark scoffed.

"Probably not."

"Right. Lee Chan, Kim Doyeon, Kim Haeun."

"Marry Doyeon, kiss Haeun, kill Chan. Sorry Chan."

"Nah I get that, Doyeon is definitely someone I'd marry if it was in that lineup."

"Are you sure I can't sleep yet?" Mark asked as he shifted his head, and Donghyuck's hand fell from stroking his hair to instead take Mark's head and gently place it on his lap.

"Yes, I'm sure," Donghyuck said, and Mark whined softly. "Sorry Markie."

"It's okay," Mark muttered. "Park Chaewon, Lee Yongbok, and Heo Jiwon."

"Marry Yongbok, kiss Chaewon even though her girlfriend would throw me from a roof, and kill Jiwon."

"For the brownies?"

"For the brownies," Hyuck giggled. "And Felix gives great hugs."

Silence stretched for a few more minutes as Donghyuck began to sing softly, Mark's eyes slowly closing. "Mark."

"What?" Mark managed, his voice heavy with sleep, and Donghyuck sighed.

"You should be fine to sleep, let me just -"

"No," Mark muttered, trying to stay awake as he felt Donghyuck shifting to get up. "Hyuckie, sleep with me."

"What?"

"Sleep with me," Mark whined softly, and Hyuck scoffed.

"Fine. Stand up." Mark shuffled up with Donghyuck and Donghyuck laughed at his sleepy best friend, ruffling his hair. "Mark you're just a giant baby."

"I'm a whole year older than you," Mark responded, holding onto Hyuck's shirt tightly to remain upright. Hyuck untucked the sheets and had Mark crawl in first before crawling in after him and Mark immediately wrapped his arms around his best friend, smuggling close and squishing their cheeks together.

"Goodnight Hyuck," Mark muttered, his speech already slurring from exhaustion, and Mark could swear he felt Donghyuck shift and press a kiss to the corner of Mark's lips before responding.

"Goodnight Mark. I love you."

"Love you," Mark muttered before floating all the way into sleep with Donghyuck's warming presence surrounding him.
