A month passed and Akihiko never used his quirk again on Izuku. Every time he tried Izuku would smack him upside the head saying something like "Don't make yourself sad cuz of me". That didn't stop him from trying though, he would use his quirk without Izuku noticing to see how he is. He would never be able to alter Izuku's feelings as the boy would catch on far too quickly for Akihiko's liking. The 2 were sitting together on a tree branch that was bound to break soon.
A- "So that's why Eraserhead is the best hero!"
I- "YES! I love him! You're very smart Hiko"
A- "Shhh you're way smarter than me Izuku, I was just saying what you said some time ago"
I- "But you added onto it"
A- "I- okay you win"
Izuku giggled and playfully punched Akihiko in the arm. He whined and rubbed his arm even though it didn't hurt. The 2 boys were sent into a laughing fit, holding their stomachs as they wheezed and fell to their sides. They kept on sneaking glances at each other which only made them laugh even more at the silly faces they'd make. After a couple minutes the giggle fits died down. They then heard a scream from indoors.
L- "BOYS! GET BACK HERE!"
Izuku flinched at Lunica's voice but quickly shook off his fear, he wasn't so lucky this time as Akihiko caught on. The boy had questions but decided to leave it for later, hoping that Izuku just didn't like to be yelled at, he was wrong. The two walked back to Lunica as she lightly picked up Akihiko and made her way to the dining area, leaving Izuku there. She then came back and grabbed his wrist harsh enough to leave a bruise.
L- "Who do you think you are? Go in your room and stay there, Akihiko doesn't need you, and he never has. You cook your own food tomorrow night, if I see more food gone than needed I'm selling you."
Her voice was laced with poison and hatred. Izuku was well past used to this treatment, so he just stayed silent, knowing that no matter what he did it wouldn't stop what was going on. He walked along with her, moving himself to ease her grip even the slightest. She threw him into his dark room, well more like a closet with a pile of pillows and blankets as a bed. He fell onto the ground and waited for her to stop yelling and leave to finally get up and dust himself off.
He wrapped himself in the blankets and covered himself completely, as if in a cocoon. He woke up at around 6 am to the sound of footsteps, he had grown to be a light sleeper from well, you know. He shot up, instantly covering any bruises or cuts that showed from him shifting around in his sleep. After a while the footsteps stopped, Izuku knew who it was from the sounds of each step, a kid, Kasandra. He sighed and unlocked the door by picking the lock, she slowly peaked her head in and waltzed over, holding a small candle. She smiled and stopped right in front of him.
K- "Was mommy mean to you again?"
Most of the kids here called Lunica mom or mommy, but Lunica made it very clear that he could never address her as such. It's not like he wanted to, he knew what deadbeat mothers looked like, and he wouldn't give her the satisfaction of that. The girl did surprise him though, how did she know?
I- "Kassy, how did you know?"
K- "You never eat with us, and you are scared of her, you also always have boo-boos on your arms and legs, but don't forget, my quirk!"
I- "What? When did you get a quirk?"
K- "Hehe! Today! Are you happy Izuku?"
Izuku smiled softly at the little girl, she had just turned 4, meanwhile he was close to being 5. Despite being so close in age, he was like the older brother if they came to him at night or early in the morning. These times he had just dealt with his fears and darkness, it forced out a calm and depressed older child in him. He patted her head and held her hand.
