Another few months passed by and Izuku was now 5. He finally got all the children under control and was able to stop the random teleportation that ensued. He got up from his shabby load of cloth you'd call a bed and started what he needed to for the day. The abuse got worse, she would bring in knives and household items. Her hatred for the boy only grew as no one would adopt him.
She would use her quirk, now wondering how? Her quirk worked that if she sung a specific tune it would have different effects. She would usually use it to make the ones she favored, well everyone but Izuku, to lull them asleep. She would step into the room with Izuku and start to lull away, except these tunes would insight fear. Last night was no exception. The woman clicked her heels slowly down the hall in the middle of the night. She stopped at his door and let it creep open as slowly as possible. She walked in and set down the candle and smiled at the now shaking child. She opened her mouth while glaring at him, he was shaking like a leaf caught in the wind. She smiled hauntingly and began to sing.
"Hush little baby don't you cry"
Step, step, step. Izuku was dreading what was to come.
"Momma's gonna have to pull your eyes"
She was now in front of the terrified boy. She turned around as a smirk made its way along her face. She grabbed the candle.
"Give into the darkness and let it win"
She crouched down putting her hands on her knees as she stared directly into his soul.
"And control your little screams right on a whim"
She grabbed his hand and put his wrist directly on the fire. The previous line taunted him as he tried to muffle his screams.
"Hush little demon, don't you fret"
Her grip tightened as he kept on trying to pry his burned wrist away from her grasp. She smiled and started moving the candle upwards.
"It'll all be over in a sec"
He was in tears, the pain becoming unbearable. Red and blotchy skin now replacing his once pale color. She then out of nowhere pushed the tip on his forearm, silencing the fire.
"So just sit still and let him work"
She threw the now blown out candle to the door. She stood up and grabbed his burned wrist, pulling him up along with her.
"The demon that's inside you who wants your worth"
She threw him at a wall, her voice not faltering despite moving so ragged and harsh. He was coughing his lungs out, gasping for air.
"So hush little baby don't say a word"
She put a finger over her mouth, covering his completely with her free hand.
"Momma's gonna kill you before you're hurt"
She smiled as she pulled him up by the face. His legs now kicked in the air as she stood up smiling. She moved her hand to his throat, catching him and putting both hands there.
"Sit real tight and feel the pain"
She pulled him close then bashed his head into the wall. His vision started to blur as he felt a liquid make its way down his neck. Her eyes were glowing of bloodlust as she hit his head again, harder. His legs stopped moving, he was choking for air, suffocating. Wanting to breathe more than anything. His mind was clogged, slowing down. He was tired, his throat burning from the coughing and pressure. The metallic blood taste slipping down his throat. His eyes were becoming heavy, his blinking lasted longer, he was going to be out anytime soon.
"As your soul gets ripped in away"
And with that his eyes finally closed, not opening up again. She dropped him as he collapsed on the floor.
He shuddered from the memory, rubbing his wrist in hope to sooth the pain. He got to the far corner of the room and patched himself up. Yes he stole the supplies from Lunica, but it wasn't like she'd notice since she wasn't the one who patched the kids up, he was. Izuku took some old sheets and ripped them, rushing to the laundry room he mixed them in with the supply. An hour later he used the ripped cloth and wrapped it around his burnt arm. He knew the bandages he used couldn't be on the visible parts so that left the many many bruises and cuts that littered his skin.
Izuku ventured off to Akihiko's room. They sat in silence together until Akihiko spoke.
A- "You know, I want a family"
I- "You guys are my family, cheesy I know"
A- "Pfft, I know Izu, I meant parents, and a home, and a permanent place."
I- "Hey Aki...."
A- "Yeah?"
I- "I think of you as my brother"A- "I think the same of you, what's going on?"
I- "Do you know what brothers share that you don't have?"
A- "what?"
I- "A last name, and since you don't have one I t-thought I-I'd g-give y-you m-mine"Akihiko was silent, his eyes widened in surprise and another emotion Izuku couldn't read. The blue headed boy started to tear up, sniffling trying to keep the tears in. This freaked out Izuku, he thought he messed up, did something bad, made his frie- brother sad. Akihiko couldn't hold the tears any longer, his dams broke as the salty tears made its way past his eyes and down to the floor. The salty taste landing on his lips.
I- "I'm s-so sorry Ididn'tmeantosayanythingmeanIpromiseifyouwanttodeclinethat'stotallyunderstandableImeanIofferedsomethingthatisn'tevenimpo-"
He was cut off by Akihiko tackling him in a hug. The tears now stain both of their shirts as Izuku was silent in confusion.
A- "Y-you mean it?"
I- "Huh? Of course I do!"
A- "Then we're brothers, through and through"
I- "Promise?"
A- "I promise. I won't ever leave you Izu!"
Who knew that he'd break his promise so soon...
