My Little Dragon

Chapter 3

Weiss was the first to wake up. She yawned her fangs showing as her yawn sounded a bit more beast like. She looked to Ruby who was almost falling out of the bed.

Weiss sighed shaking her head as she walked over to her. She flicked Ruby's head causing her to wake up and fall out of bed. "Gah! What happened where am I!?" Ruby yelled shooting up from the ground.
Weiss sighed "you're in a inn and it's time to wake up," Weiss said answering her questions.
Ruby rubbed her eyes "o...oh...heh heh morning Weiss," Ruby said with a small chuckle. Weiss helped Ruby up "c'mon the sanctuary won't come to us," Weiss said handing Ruby her bag.
Ruby took her bag putting it on "onward loyal friend!" Ruby called pointing to the air. Weiss shook her head in an bored way.
The two walked down the path the village getting further and further.

Back in the village a bar tender slowly cleaned his glasses. He perked up when a group of people walked in. The leader leaned against the counter catching the bartenders attention.
"Hi there stranger...what can I do ya for?" He asked in a chipper tone.
"We're looking for two girls...a dragon and a teenage girl," the man said. "Hmm...haven't seen a dragon in these parts but I think I saw the girl you described did she uh have silver eyes?" The barkeep asked. The man nodded with a smirk. "Ah, yes she checked out of my inn a few hours ago..." he said causing the other man and his crew to smile.
"Where'd they go?" He asked with a smirk. "Uh, I think that way..." He said pointing to the north. The man smiled "what's your name anyway stranger?" The barkeeper asked as the group turned to leave. He smirked "clover, leader of the howling wolves..." He replied with a smile.

With Weiss and Ruby

Ruby looked at the map trying to figure out where to go. "Gah! This is so confusing! Ruby grumbled as she stomped her foot in anger.
Weiss sighed as she sat on a log "give me the map," Weiss said standing up. Ruby handed the map to her friend. Weiss looked at the map "we need to go north and then go west here," Weiss said pointing at a path on the map. Ruby was amazed "how'd you do that so easily?" Ruby asked her eyes practically sparkling. Weiss chuckled "I've been traveling a lot I've only been living in the cave you found me in a year ago," Weiss explained giving Ruby back the map walking ahead. Ruby snapped out of her daze and followed behind Weiss. "What was your family like if I may ask?" Ruby asked with a innocent smile. Weiss tensed up and looked down "I...I don't have one..." Weiss muttered refusing to look at Ruby.
Ruby felt bad for asking such a touchy subject "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have asked such a touchy question..." Ruby apologized rubbing the back of her head. Weiss looked up "it's ok...I'm just glad that...I'm not alone anymore..." Weiss whispered looking at Ruby with a smile. Ruby blushed but smiled "yeah! I'm your friend and we'll protect each other!" Ruby cheered pumping her fist into the air.
Weiss let out an amused sigh as she followed the energetic girl.
They walked for hours and Ruby was growing tired. "I'm tired..." Ruby complained yawning tiredly. Weiss sighed "just a few more miles it's a good idea to get far away from that town incase anyone is trailing us..." Weiss replied continuing to walk. Ruby groaned but didn't complain further. They walked for another few hours Ruby was barely standing. Weiss inhaled "alright we can rest for the night," Weiss said walking a bit into the woods until she came across a clearing.
Ruby put her bag down and sat down "I thought you'd make us walk till sunrise," Ruby joked with a small laugh. Weiss smiled and chuckled placing down some fire wood. The two cooked over the fire and fell asleep. Ruby woke up in the middle of the night. She rubbed her eyes looking to Weiss who was sleeping in a tree. Ruby slowly got up and walked a little deeper into the wood.
Ruby sat by a small pond she looked at her reflection. "...when I get Weiss to the sanctuary I'll...have to leave her...but...I don't want to..." Ruby sighed and when she heard a snap in the woods she jumped. Ruby looked to the trees "hello...?...Weiss...?" Ruby called expecting it to be Weiss.
Ruby felt her heart beat increase as no one replied. Ruby stood up "who's there?" Ruby called feeling tense.
Growling could be heard from the woods as a beowolf stepped from the forest. Ruby felt her body tense as it growled stepping forward.
The beowolf lunged towards her. Ruby couldn't get out of the way in time so the creature tackled her. She held it's mouth so it couldn't bite her.
Ruby tried fighting it off but it was too strong. "Gah! Help!" Ruby shouted hoping someone would help her.
