Chapter 8

Weiss awoke the next morning trying to move but was caged by Ruby's arms. Ruby held her like a stuffed animal "this is so embarrassing....well...at least she's warm..." Weiss thought with a small sigh. Weiss looked up at Ruby's sleeping face a small blush coming onto a cheek. Weiss blushed trying to make but couldn't "she's stronger than she looks I suppose..." Weiss thought with slight surprise. Weiss managed to roll onto her side cuddling to Ruby enjoying her warmth. Ruby mumbled in her sleep "hmmmm...Weiss...my little...dragon...mmmmh...cute..." Ruby murmured in her sleep. Ruby held her tighter "what is she doing! And what the hell is she dreaming about!?" Weiss wondered as her face turned pink. Ruby's grip loosened allowing Weiss to wiggle out of her grasp. Weiss walked over to her bag grabbing the map. They were only about a week long trip from the sanctuary. "We're almost there...but...once we get there I'm sure about yang and Blake but...will Ruby stay with me or...go home with her father...?" Weiss wondered feeling her heart sink at the thought of Ruby leaving her. Weiss let out a depressed sigh as she put the map away. Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around her causing the dragon to flinch. "Morning..." Weiss immediately recognized the voice.
"Good morning Ruby..." Weiss whispered a small grin growing on her lips. "Did you sleep well?" Ruby asked simply getting a nod from Weiss. Ruby kissed her cheek causing the dragon to become flustered. "Dolt..." Weiss muttered harshly. "We should get moving the sanctuary isn't far right?" Ruby asked grabbing her things. "Y...yeah...it's about a week away," Weiss muttered as yang and Blake woke up. "Cool can't wait to see it," Ruby said enthusiastically as she turned to begin walking.
Weiss frowned as she stood there for a second. "W...will you leave me...?" Weiss thought as she slowly began walking. Ruby talked with yang leaving the two dragons to each other. "So you and Ruby hmmm~?" Blake teased with a wink. Weiss turned red "shut up you idiot," Weiss spat harshly. Blake smirked and looked at her girlfriend and future sister in law.
"You two are cute together," Blake said with a smile. Weiss was taken aback by her words. "W...what?" Weiss asked a blush lingering on her cheeks. Blake smiled "ever since I met you I could tell you loved Ruby it was funny how oblivious she was heh heh...but now you two seem real close I'm proud of you," Blake said grinning. Weiss smiled looking to Ruby "thanks Blake...I appreciate it," Weiss replied continuing to stare at Ruby. "and y'know for a little bit before Ruby confessed I was a little... jealous of you..." Weiss admitted feeling like a idiot. "You were?" Blake asked cocking her head to the side in confusion. Weiss nodded "yeah...I thought Ruby liked you and I was jealous..." Weiss chuckled slightly. Blake chuckled "I mean it was pretty obvious Ruby liked you I mean did you see the way she looked at you?" Blake asked with a smirk.
Weiss was processing what Blake said "wait...what!" Weiss squeaked in surprise. Blake nodded with a proud smirk "you really were clueless," Blake said walking up to yang and Blake leaving a confused Weiss alone still processing.
"Holy shit..." Weiss muttered feeling her cheeks heat up.
Ruby was holding the map as they came to a fork in the rode. "hmmmm if we go this way it should be a short cut!" Ruby said as Weiss looked at the map. "I guess it could cut about two day from our journey," yang said. Weiss panicked slightly not wanting less time with Ruby. "M...maybe we should take the original route...I mean we don't know what is down that path..." Weiss stuttered trying to change her teams mind. Ruby and yang glanced at each other. "But Weiss the sooner we get to the sanctuary the sooner you and Blake will be safe," Ruby argued causing Weiss to panic. Weiss didn't know what to say next. "Welp I guess it settled...shortcut!" Yang cheered walking down the shortcut pack. Weiss reluctantly followed hanging back. Ruby glanced back at Weiss feeling she did something wrong. She hung back to get to Weiss. "Hey...you ok?" Ruby asked in a concerned voice. Weiss looked away "I...I'm fine..." Weiss responded with a small tone. Ruby wasn't satisfied with her answer but was distracted by a black flash in the sky. Ruby stopped staring at the sky and into the clouds. Blake, yang, and Weiss noticed how she stopped. "Yo rubes you ok?" Yang asked looking at her sister. Ruby looked up "I thought I saw something in the sky...it looked...black...I don't know what it w-" Ruby was cut off by a loud roar erupting through the air.
Weiss and Blake immediately recognized the roar as a dragons roar.
Weiss turned to the woods "run we need cover!" Weiss yelled running into the forest.
The three other teens followed behind her running to find shelter. Ruby glanced up seeing a large black dragon with crimson red eyes flying through the air.
Ruby felt her heart sink as she ran faster. The dragon noticed her and flew to grab her. Ruby tried ducking but the dragon grabbed her lifting her into the air with its large claws. Ruby let out a scream as her friends watched in horror as she was taken away. Ruby tried to get out of its hold but it was useless. Ruby watched as the dragon spat at Weiss and Blake as they attempted to fly after them. Whatever it spat at them it paralyzed them causing them to fall back to the ground. "WEISS! BLAKE!" Ruby yelled as they fell back to the ground. Ruby eventually was hit with the liquid feeling dizzy as she passed out. It only paralyzed Weiss and Blake but since Ruby was human she took it extra hard.

Ruby awoke in what looked like a cave. She immediately jolted up looking around to view her surroundings. Ruby was lying in a nest "where the hell am I...?" Ruby wondered as she stood up. Ruby looked to the exit running towards it. She ran only to be met with a cliff. "Fuck...can't survive that fall..." Ruby sighed stepping back from the cliff of if you fall you die. She sighed looking back only to be met with the sight of the sleeping black dragon.
She covered her mouth to silence her breathing to not wake the thing.
She slowly began backing away she would rather be outside in the snow than in the cave with the dragon.
Ruby's foot hit a rock causing a loud echo. The dragon growled it's eyes jolting open. Ruby flinched as it's crimson eyes fell upon her. It slowly rised from the ground growling lowly.
Ruby pulled out her syphe "stay back!" Ruby shouted trembling. The dragon approached her growling. "W...what do you want....?" Ruby asked in a terrified tone. The dragon leaned down coming to eye level with Ruby. "I...want...Weiss..." It growled showing its fangs. Ruby was shocked as she stepped back. "Y...you can't have her...!" Ruby yelled in the dragons face. It smiled showing its razor sharp fangs.
"W...what the hell are you...?" Ruby asked in a shocked tone. The dragon growled but smiled licking it's fangs.
"I am kap...and I am the dragon king..." It growled stepping forward. Ruby panted as she attempted to slash at the black dragon. The dragon dodged smiling evilly grabbing Ruby by her cape with his front legs.
She flew out of the cave hovering over the the mountains. Ruby looked down not even able to see the ground she saw clouds. They were so high up that the cave was above the clouds.
Ruby panicked as the dragon king held her by the cape dangling her over certain death. Ruby panted holding onto his claws "p...please don't drop me!" Ruby begged flinging her legs. Kap smiled "you will be my bait..." He said with a smirk. Ruby gasped understanding that he was going to use her as bait for Weiss. Anger and confidence grew in Ruby. "I won't lure her to you! You're sick and I won't let you have her!" Ruby shouted at the black dragon. The dragon sighed "humans truly are foolish..." He said dropping her from his grip. Ruby screamed as she fell the wind rushing past her.
Ruby fell for minutes but was still above the clouds. She was horrified "I...I'm going to die..." Ruby thought in fear. Ruby shut her eyes tightly tears escaping as she fell. Suddenly Ruby was caught by something. She looked up seeing Weiss holding onto her and Blake flying next to her with yang on her back. "Guys!" Ruby said happily feeling relieved and overjoyed.
Weiss put Ruby on her back "Ruby are you ok?" Yang asked worriedly. "I'm fine suddenly Weiss was knocked into by kap. Weiss fell down struggling to fly again. "It's him!" Ruby yelled as kap turned around for another attack. "Who is that!?" Yang asked with horror. "His name is kap he says he's the dragon king," Ruby informed the three other girls. Blake and Weiss looked at each other in fear as they turned to fly back to the ground. Blake and yang managed to yang but kap caught up and ramed into Weiss Knocking her out of the sky causing her to collided with the ground.
Ruby groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. She saw Weiss close to her motionless. "WEISS!" Ruby screamed in fear running to her girlfriend.
As she held Weiss who was slowly recovering kap landed causing the earth to rumble.
All four teens trembled he was twice the size of Weiss and Blake. Weiss shot up and Blake and Weiss transformed back into her dragon form. Kap smirked his eyes glowing a deeper shade of red as he roared. Weiss and Blake let out roars of agony as they both fell to the ground. Ruby and yang were about to approach but stopped when Weiss and Blake slowly turned around. Their pupils were more slim and they growled at their girlfriends. Kap smirked "now I control them..." He said with a small chuckle. "Kill them..." Kap instructed the two dragons.
They both growled approaching their girlfriends.

"Weiss...?"

"Blake...?"
