Chapter 9

Ruby and yang trembled as their girlfriends approached growling lowly. "...Ruby wh...what do we do...?" Yang asked hesitating to take out her weapon. Ruby didn't know what to do she knew they couldn't hurt their girlfriends. "I...I don't know..." Ruby stuttered in a shaky tone. Weiss inhaled sharply which sent Ruby into a panic. She knew what Weiss's next move was. She tackled her sister out of the way as Weiss roared with a beam of frost shooting at them. Ruby and yang stood up "we can't hurt them! We have to find a way to break that dragons control!" Ruby yelled looking at kap. Ruby looked back at the woods "we have to lose them we can't help them on our own!" Ruby yelled turning to run to the woods.
The two sisters ran as Blake and Weiss flew after them. Ruby and yang lost the two dragons in the trees as they hid. Ruby and yang watched as they flew back to kaps cave. Ruby jumped down pacing back in forth as yang sat against a tree with her head in her hands. "This is so fucked up...what are we going to do?" Yang asked in a frustrated and worried tone. Ruby continued to pace not answering. "Ruby what are we going to d-" Ruby cut yang off. "I DON'T KNOW!" Ruby shouted the wind blowing through their hair as they both went silent. Yang tensed "well we have to do something! Blake and Weiss are being controlled by that thing and if we don't do something who knows what will happen!" Yang shouted. "I know! But we can't go in without a plan! We'll die and then no one can save Weiss and Blake!" Ruby shouted back growing angry. Yang let out a frustrated sigh "well we have to think of something quickly I mean...how did he do that? If we can't stop him Blake and Weiss will be..." Yang didn't want to finish her thought.
Ruby looked down fighting back tears.
"We'll find a way to save them...even if we die trying," Ruby said confidently. Yang sighed wiping a few tears away. "Yeah...we will..." The two hugged and prepared their weapons.
Suddenly the bushes around them began shaking. Yang and Ruby pulled out their weapons prepared to fight.
"Who's there!? Show yourself!" Ruby commanded with a slight growl.
A few seconds later a man wearing a good stepped from the bushes. Ruby held up crescent rose "who are you!?"
Ruby yelled at him. The man held up his hand to signal he came in peace.
"I mean you no harm I um...I'm looking for this man...he's my friend," he said holding up a picture of a man with black hair and red eyes along with horns and a tail.
Ruby gasped as she realized the man on the photo was kap. "I...is his name kap...?" Ruby asked in a shaky tone. The man smiled nodding his head hopefully. "Do you know where he is? I haven't seen him in so long," he said with a hopeful and excited smile. Ruby and yang glanced at each other "he...he mind controlled our friends...you know him...?" Ruby asked with confusion. The boy nodded with a smile. "Can you please help me find him?" He asked with a hopeful tone. Ruby slowly lowered her weapon "we'll help you if you help us get our friends back do we have a deal?" Ruby asked in a serious tone. The boy nodded getting into a more friendly position. "What's your name?" Yang asked putting down her weapons. The boy pulled down his hood revealing his grey and orange hair along with his green eye and a scared eye. "My name's Alex, Alex firnn," Alex introduced with a warm smile. Alex grinned "nice to meet you Alex I'm Ruby and this is my sister yang," Ruby said putting away her syphe. Alex smiled "nice to meet you both," he said warmly. "C'mon we should go now who knows what kap is doing," Ruby said turning towards the mountain the monster called home. The three teens walked towards the tallest mountain in remnant. They all found a path leading up the mountain. Ruby sighed "looks like we're going to be walking for a while..." Ruby groaned as they began their long treak.
Ruby lead the way growing more and more worried the higher they got.
After a two hour walk they made it "we're here..." Ruby muttered pulling out crescent rose.
Yang held her shoulder "we'll get them back..." Yang said reassuringly giving her sister a small smile.
The three teens slowly made their way into the cave. "Ka-mmmmmf!?" Ruby quickly covered Alex's mouth with her hand. "Shhhh...I know kap is your friend but I don't think he's the same guy you knew you we have to sneak up on him..." Ruby instructed her new companion.
Alex looked sad but nodded still refusing to pull out his weapon. The three snuck through the long corridor like caves. They eventually came across a large cave about the size of a small town. "Wow...it's huge..." Yang whispered still kneeling on a small cave ledge overlooking the cave. Ruby looked around and saw Weiss and Blake still in dragon form keeping guard. "Weiss..." Ruby gasped looking into her girlfriends icy blue eyes but...they no longer had that sparkle.
Ruby noticed kap sitting in a throne like nest. Ruby growled "there he is..." Ruby growled the other two could hear the venom in her voice. Ruby pulled out crescent rose which Alex noticed. "Wait! You can't kill him he's my friend!" Alex whisper shouted. Ruby glared at him her eyes full of hatred and anger. "He hurt my friends...no one will ever get away with that!" Ruby shouted her voice echoing through the cave. The three teens froze as they heard Ruby's voice bounce through the cave. Kap looked right at them a small smirk growing on his face. He roared to Weiss and Blake and they flew to the three girls. They picked them up by their cloths and flew them over to kap.
Weiss dropped Ruby to the ground she fell onto the ground with a grunt. Yang and Alex were dropped as well.
Kap smiled sending a sickly feeling through Ruby. "Hello again..." He said ominously as he smiled showing all his fangs. "You...bastard...LET THEM GO!!" Ruby shouted at the dragon her fear disappearing. The dragon spoke in a ancient sounding language which Ruby recognized as draconic.
He spoke to Weiss and Weiss obeyed his command. She pushed her front foot on Ruby's head pushing her head into the floor. "RUBY!" Yang yelled trying to get up but Blake threw her back to the ground. Ruby grunted as her face was being pushed into the dirt. She slowly looked up at Weiss she slowly extended her hand up towards her girlfriend. "Weiss....please...." Ruby begged as Weiss stared into her eyes her pupils so slim. Kap growled and Weiss removed her claws from Ruby's head. Ruby gasped for air the blood rushing down her head. "Weak little humans..." Kap mocked standing from his throne. Alex finally found his voice "kap...?" Alex called catching the dragons attention.
Kaps eyes widened "a...alex...?" Kap called his eyes showing he was shocked. "I...I thought you were dead..." Kap muttered looking closer as the grey haired boy.
Alex smiled "well I'm not I'm in the flesh kap-attack," Alex said using the dragons old nickname. Kaps face went back to cold "you should've stayed away..." Kap growled looking into the surprised boys eyes. "W..what?" Alex asked standing up. He slowly made his way to the large dragon "kap what are you talking about... we're friends," Alex said now infront of the black beast. Kap glared "we were never friends..." Kap spat coldly swiping alex to the side with his tail. Alex flew through the air like a ragdoll hitting a large stone his body falling to the ground like a limp noodle. "Alex!" Yang called in horror as kap stared blankly at his body. "What the hell! He was your friend!" Yang screamed at the Blake dragon. Ruby was barely conscious as the blood rushed down her head. "He was a worthless human...you humans have hunted and killed us dragons for centuries...now it's time for us to return the favor..." Kap spat with a chilling grin. Yang gritted her teeth as blake's claws pushed into her back. "We...won't let you hurt anyone! We'll stop you!" Yang shouted. Kap stepped closer bending his head down to yangs level. "You can't stop what has already begun..." Kap whispered sending shivers through the golden headed girl. Kap turned and walked back to his throne. "Take them to the holding cells," he commanded Blake and Weiss who had no choice but to bend to his will.
Ruby's body was nearly limp as they flew while yang attempted to wiggle her way out of her girlfriends grasp. Her attempts where pointless as Blake in her dragon form was way to strong for her. The two sister were thrown into a cage and were left alone. "Damnit!" Yang cursed punching the wall. Yang looked to her sister she slowly walked over to her injured sister. The lavender eyed girl took off her scarf and wrapped it around Ruby's head. "Are you ok Ruby...?" Yang asked the blood from Ruby's head seising to flow. Ruby felt tears fill her eyes as she shut her eyes.
"Weiss...Blake...he...he took them...he took them from us th...they...they're gone..." Ruby sobbed as tears rushed down her face. Ruby covered her face with her hands as she sobbed. Yang pulled her close and hugged her little sister. "Shhhh...it's ok...it's ok...we're going to get them back...I promise..." Yang whispered tears filling her own eyes. The two sisters hugged as they waited for anyone to return. An hour later Blake returned causing yang to shot up. "Blakey!" Yang called forgetting Blake was gone. Blake didn't say anything she threw alex into the cell. His head was patched up and he seemed to be healed up. Ruby helped alex up as he was barely conscious. Blake turned and flew away. Ruby overheard yang mumble a small no. Ruby leaned alex against the wall walking over beside her sister. She slowly placed her hand on her sisters shoulder.
"We'll save them...but first we need to find a way out of here," Ruby said looking through her pockets for anything of use. Yang looked through her own "they took our weapons but maybe we still some stuff in our pockets..." Ruby said feeling around in her belt pockets.
Ruby finally found a small wooden comb. Ruby and yang smiled as yang took the comb and began using it on the stone bars. "I'll make sure alex is ok," Ruby said walking over to the grey haired boy. She knelt beside him as he slept. "Mmmm...kap...please don't go..." Alex whimpered in his sleep. Ruby sighed she knew exactly how he felt as she wrapped her cape around his trembling body.
Ruby glanced around the cell looking for any weak points. She turned back to yang seeing her making great process. Ruby walked over yang sighed "there...we should be able to break through," yang said with a smile. Ruby kicked the bars causing them to cave in. Ruby began to climb out "wait Ruby what about him?" Yang asked looking back at the sleeping boy. "He'll be fine...if they found him here on his own they would look for us," Ruby said confidently. Yang nodded as she followed her sister. "we should find out weapons," Ruby whispered making sure not to attract attention. "W...will we have to use them on Weiss and Blake...?" Yang asked worriedly. Ruby hesitated to answer "no...we won't..." Ruby responded lowly. The two continued to make their way through the caves as they attempted to find their weapons.
They came into what looked like a bedroom. "This must be where that tyrant sleeps..." Yang spat coldly. Ruby simply nodded in understanding as they looked around. Ruby looked to the nightstand a picture catching her eye. "Yang look at this..." Ruby said catching her sisters attention away from some coins. It was a family photo "woah...he looks so small..." Yang said looking at the photo. "Yeah...who knew something so small could grow into a monster," Ruby muttered putting the picture back in its place. "C'mon..." Ruby said as they left the room. They walked down the dimly lit hallway feeling anxious and worried. They came across a split in the cave. "which way should we go?" Yang asked looking from side to side. "I dunno...we might have to split up..." Ruby said looking to the right. "I'll go left," yang said stretching her limbs. Ruby nodded looking to her sister. "Stay safe sis..." Ruby muttered with a smile. Yang smirked and hugged her little sister. "You too Ruby...I love ya..." Yang whispered squeezing her sister slightly. Ruby turned walking down the right hall.

"I will save you Weiss..."
