Chapter 17

Ruby held the map as she walked ahead of everyone. It had been three days and they were making good time. They were only two days away from Ruby and yangs village.
Ruby felt someone tug at her cloak. She looked down and saw whitly "oh hey whitly what's up little buddy?" Ruby asked happily. Whitly rubbed his eyes tiredly "I...I don't wanna walk anymore..." Whitly complained holding onto smoky. Ruby smiled lifting him up on her shoulders. "There you go little buddy," Ruby cheered continuing forward in a goofy march. Weiss and yang chuckled as they watched as Ruby marched around while whitly laughed holding up smoky.
Ruby glanced back at Weiss and smiled sweetly.
Weiss's tail wagged as her cheeks heated up and grew redder. Winter glanced at her sister then to Ruby. "Weiss seems to really love that human...hm..." Winter thought as she read the book Ruby gave her.
Weiss hung back to talk to her sister. "So you seem to be enjoying the book Ruby gave you," Weiss commented with a grin. Winter nodded "yeah...it's not bad..." Winter responded in a low tone. "Y'know...when I first met those girls I didn't trust them but...they actually seem nice..." Winter said not looking up from her book.
Ruby smiled "I'm glad you're warming up to them...we've all been together a long time it's nice having you and whitly back..." Weiss smiled. Winter smiled and patted her head "it's nice to be with you again too sister," winter responded with a small grin.
Ruby overhead their conversation and smiled. "Phew...good to know she doesn't hate me..." Ruby sighed in relief. Howling interrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the group. "Grimm! Get your weapons ready!" Ruby commanded putting whitly down. Grimm jumped from the trees blocking both their escape routes.
"Damn..." Ruby cursed holding up crescent rose. The grimm growled their evil red eyes glowing menacingly. "Blake, yang keep whitly and winter safe! Weiss and I will take care of the grimm," Ruby said as Weiss incased her hands on ice shaped like claws. "Hope you're not rusty princess~" Ruby flirted with a smirk. Weiss rolled her eyes playfully "you're an idiot," Weiss shot back with a smirk as she attacked a grimm. Ruby held her heart "ouch," Ruby joked slicing through a grimm. Ruby jumped off a grimms back and sliced into ones head slicing it in half. Ruby dodged ones attack and cut off its legs and plunged her weapon in its neck. Ruby twirled her syphe and stuck her weapon through its chin killing it.
Ruby was tackled by a grimm dropping her weapon. She groaned as the grimm tried to bite her arms. She held it's muzzle struggling to keep it away from her face. Weiss noticed Ruby in danger. Weiss inhaled sharply and covered the grimm with ice. It struggled for a moment before the ice pierced it's body.
Weiss ran to Ruby extending her hand to the younger human. "Need a hand?" Weiss asked with a smirk. Ruby smiled and took the snow haired girls hand. Ruby panted realizing they had killed all the grimm. They both ran to the others "are you all alright?" Ruby asked picking up her weapon.
Winter nodded picking up whitly and holding him close. Blake wiped some grimm blood off of her arm. Yang wiped some from her cheek causing her to blush.
"We should get moving before we draw more attention," Ruby said still holding out crescent rose in case any stragglers came by.
Suddenly an alpha beowolf jumped from the trees. Ruby gasped in all her life she had never seen an alpha beowolf. Ruby's grip on her weapon tightened as she noticed it didn't look like a normal beowolf. Ruby ran to the creature dodging its claws. She slashed into its arm and ducked when it attempted once again to kill her. Ruby panted as the creature knocked her back. "Ruby!" Weiss yelled growing angry. She slashed into the creatures back with her ice claws. The beowolf growled and grabbed her head and threw her against a tree. "WEISS!!" Ruby screamed small tears of panic filling her eyes. Ruby grew angrier than yang or Blake had ever seen her. Ruby slashed the beowolfs leg not seeming it to cause it any pain.
It grabbed Ruby by her arm biting deep into her arm. Ruby let out a ear piercing scream of pain and agony.
Blood rapidly streamed down her arm as the creature pulled back licking the blood from its razor sharp teeth.
It threw Ruby aside growling angrily. Suddenly a ice spick impaled straight through its chest. It fell to it's knees slowly beginning to evaporate.
The one to kill the grimm was winter.
She panted as ice formed on her arm.
Weiss slowly rose from the ground groaning as her body hurt. She looked to Ruby who was already being held by yang. Ruby's arm was bleeding heavily from the bite. Luckily the bite wasn't to deep but it was still bad.
They all quickly made camp for the night. Weiss got out some medical supplies they picked up from the last town. Weiss applied some disinfectant and bandaged her wound. Luckily the wound wasn't deep enough that it need stitches it just need to be bandaged it would probably be to painful for Ruby to use crescent rose.
Weiss let Ruby rest as she clean her up. Ruby was resting as Weiss watched over her. It was late and the others had fallen asleep.
Weiss moved some hair away from Ruby's face.
Ruby groaned in her restless state. Weiss put a wet cloth on her forehead to try and ease her restlessness. Ruby's tenseness subsided and she finally calmed down falling into a peaceful sleep. Weiss smiled as she examined her girlfriends wound. It looked as normal as a beowolf bite could look. "Hmmmm...little dragon..." Ruby murmured in her sleep with a small smile. Weiss blushed smiling slightly as she covered Ruby with her blanket "sleep tight my little flower," Weiss whispered moving Ruby's bangs away from her face.
Weiss's tail wagged as Ruby turned on her side in a calm, peaceful sleep. Weiss kissed her forehead and walked over to the camp fire. "How is she?" Yang asked worriedly.
"She's ok...her body is fighting off infection pretty strongly...she should be ok by tommorow, but the bite will hurt," Weiss answered slurping the ramen Blake had made. Yang sighed in relief eating her ramen her happiness returning knowing that Ruby was ok.
Yang looked to winter "thank you winter...for killing that grimm...it probably would've killed Ruby if you didn't step in," yang said with a smile. Winter gave her a small smile "no problem, she saved me and whitly so it's only logical that I would save her," winter responded in a simple tone.
Weiss and yang smiled at the eldest schnee.

Emptyness.......

Ruby looked walked through the darkness. Ruby was confused and was scared as she was lost. "Weiss! Yang! Blake! Anyone!?" Ruby yelled her voice echoing. Suddenly a shadow began to manifest Infront of her. She back away as the shadow took form. It was another version of her with...wolf ears and a tail. "Hello there...little sheep," the figure said in a chilling tone.
"W...who are you!?" Ruby shouted trying to sound tough but fail miserably. The figure smiled evilly.
"I'm...a new friend...better get used to me because I have a lot in store~" it's smile grew wider showing all of its fangs. Chills ran through Ruby's spine.

The bite on Ruby's arms began to grow black. The blackness spread up her arm as her heart raced increased. "W...what's happening!?" Ruby yelled in panic.
The figure simply smiled and laughed. "The transformation begins..." The figure said ominously. Ruby glanced up at her "what..." She asked in a shocked tone. "You'll see little red~" the red eyed figure whispered as everything began to fade.

Ruby woke up with a jolt. Pain immediately jolted through her arm as she winced. Ruby panted as she looked around beginning to hyperventilate. Weiss heard her hyperventilating and immediately rushed to her side. "R...Ruby! Hey hey it's ok it's ok...I'm here you're ok..." Weiss whispered holding Ruby close. "Breath in and out...in and out..." Weiss whispered slowly rubbing her back. Ruby began to slowly breath in and out trying to calm herself down. "There you go...it's ok..." Weiss whispered kissing the top of her head.
Ruby calmed down still trembling slightly. "Are you ok?" Weiss asked softly. Ruby sighed "yeah...I'm ok I just had a strange dream..." Ruby mumbled glancing at her bite. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Weiss asked sincerely. Ruby shook her head "no it's ok...it was just a strange dream I'm ok," Ruby said with a fake smile.
Weiss didn't like the answer but didn't wanna push the red tipped girl.

Ruby walked behind everyone feeling sick. Ruby felt nauseous as she slumped over leaning her hand on a tree. The others stopped and became worried. Yang went over to her with worry. "Ruby are you ok!" Yang asked worriedly. "I don't-" Ruby suddenly violently threw up on the ground. The others flinched as they looked at the vomit. It was black with little bits of what looked like blood. The black substance and some blood dripped from Ruby's mouth. Ruby coughed violently as the others noticed her bite looking worse.
"I...don't...feel...good..." Ruby muttered passing out.
Ruby fell over being caught by yang. "Ruby!" Yang yelled panicking as the others came to help. "What's wrong with her!?" Blake asked worriedly.
As Ruby lied in yangs arms she began to glow. Suddenly a pair of wolf ears and a tail sprouted from her head and lower back. Everyone gasped.

"What happening to her...?"
